By far the best place in Wichita Falls for live music!! They bring in some of the greatest bands available for your enjoyment ... Kris Lager, Del Castillo, Wes Jeans, Malford Milligan, Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights. They have some great tribute bands in the round too ... Queen For A Day, Back In Black, Rock N Roll Over to name a few. I don't drink alcohol so I cannot comment on that part of the venue. I can say the employees there are some of the kindest folks in town. The place will be even better now with the new Non-smoking City Ordinances in place. I probably shouldn't even review this bar but will drop a quick note. We were in Wichita Falls for just one night and we wanted to run into a happy hour to have a beer before going out to a nice dinner. We stopped into this bar about 5:30 pm on a Thursday and we walked right back out because the smoke was so thick. It was a dark bar (with no windows, I think) and the smoke was too heavy to enjoy a beer. We are non-smokers, so this might be a great bar for smokers to enjoy. read more

I will give them they had the best Guinness that I've had in a long while. I don't have anything really negative aside from the fact that there were some drinks I thought they would have had but didn't. The bartender was friendly, but the place was noisy-at the same time it's a bar. If you complain about the noise, or smokiness of a bar, then you've never been to a bar before. Wanted to go listen to live music after dinner with friends in the downtown area. This was my SECOND time there in a year, walked in and paid the cover charge. Waited at the bar to get drinks. Stood there for about 20 minutes with the bartenders filling orders for waitstaff, a few bar patrons. We went back to bouncer and got our cover back and left! If you're going to have a band on a Saturday night and charging a cover, you need more bartenders. Anyway, won't be back. Tried twice. read more

So, the beer tastes like every other bar, of course. Here's the problem: ENTRAPMENT The bouncer stands 5' INSIDE the legal area where he can tell you he CAN'T allow you in IF you already have a beer in your hand when you approached the establishment. Word to the wise: make sure you don't accidentally walk over from the Art&Soul Festival with a Miller Lite in your hand and walk 1' into his "designated area" or he won't allow you into his bar. The thing is: my Friend dropped her empty beer can into the trash as soon as he said he couldn't allow her in because of her beer but he still said he couldn't allow her in. Really. This guy should stand at the area where the "outside drinks" are not allowed and then let his patrons throw away their drinks legally and enter. What is WRONG with these bouncers???? Fun place if you can get past the low IQ bouncers. Apparently, THIS is their piece of CONTROL in the universe. read more

This is actually a pretty sweet little TX bar, with a big stage and dance floor and nice selection of brews on tap. There's plenty of seat space, great bartenders and a really accommodating doorman who waved the band cover charge for us since we were just stopping in for one after-work-beer. You know, this was easily my favorite bar in Wichita Falls during my 6 month stay in the area. I enjoyed the music mainly because places playing Rock music in Wichita seemed few and far between. Some nights the cover was kinda pricy, but the atmosphere made up for it. The real reason to go here though, was the beer selection, the Iron Horse easily had the best draft selection of any of the bars I made it to. The staff was really pleasant and quick, even when it got busy, and it does get very busy some nights. Now that my friends and I are gone, we still sometimes talk about how nice it'd be to grab a beer at the Horse. read more

Well, was really digging this place until the bar manager or the owner, not sure which, decided to start talking trash and trying to belittle me because evidently he thinks he knows more about beer than me. All this after I tried to give my thoughts to another guest asking my opinion of a special $13 beer on the Oskar Blues tap takeover menu who didn't know if he would like a beer this style. Who would of thought, he thought the beer was too bourbony. Had a wonderful time here, came on a Wednesday and they had a open mic, the singers were funny and very good.

Cool bar, it hurts to be dead plays here from time to time and they are awesome!! Anytime you see their coming to play you need to be at this bar! Visiting from California looking for some local flavor and we found the Coolest bar in Texas. We got there about 5 for happy hour and the locals were extremely welcoming. Beer was ice cold and Nicole behind the bar was a sweetheart. It is an Irish/Texan bar with a great feel and they have an awesome venue in the back for music, meetings or whatever. I recommend a local favorite of coffee flavored tequila floated with Bailey's. it is called a mini-Guinness and it does look like a small Guinness. Served ice cold and really tasty. Might be slightly dangerous they are so easy to drink. Definetly will return. read more

Tuesday has an amazing special for industry folks as well. This bar is truly as good as it gets in WF. As other posters have said, they often have live music (with a cover), and the bartenders know how it's done. Their beer selection is quite good, and they do carry a few wine options. I don't do mixed drinks or cocktails, but my friends who do always seemed happy with their drinks. If your looking for that classic pub atmosphere found in bigger cities, this is THE place to go in WF. read more
