I felt important and cared for and that I was going to get what I needed from my visit which I did not feel at the last AME I visited. I would 100000% recommend going here. I originally booked for 2:30 p.m., but I was kindly asked to reschedule earlier. I adapted my schedule and moved my appt to 1 pm. When I shook hands with Dr. Skotte, the first thing he asked for was a printed MedXPress document. I told him I had my confirmation number, as required by the FAA. He immediately showed frustration that I did not bring a printed copy. I was confused because the only FAA instruction I received stated: "You will need to provide your confirmation number," which has always been sufficient with every DPE I have worked with. He then told me it would cost an extra 20 dollars to print one page and later corrected himself to 25 dollars. I thought he was joking and asked for clarification, but he said the fee was stated on his website. Since I booked through an external link, I had never seen these instructions. He became increasingly disrespectful, pressuring me to show him the instructions and getting upset when I showed him the FAA's guidance. He continued accusing me of not following his website instructions, raising his voice, and lecturing me about not knowing how to follow simple instructions and even about the kind of pilot I must be. It was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. He also complained that I was making him late for his next patient while repeatedly pressing me to pay the fee. At this point, I chose to end the appointment. I need a medical examiner who shows basic respect and customer service skills. After leaving, I looked him up and found multiple complaints filed with the Oregon Medical Board, including a history of unprofessional conduct, negligence, and malpractice. His medical license was suspended in 2007 and was placed on a ten-year probation. Given his behavior, none of this was surprising.

Two days latter - no call. I tried to call two times but gave up after twenty minutes. What they were quick at was the bill. I was okay with paying something. I called - after thirty minutes I gave up. I sent an email with a question. No response. In the real world when services aren't performed there is usually a discount. Maybe 10 percent? The money isn't the issue but the utter lack of follow through and responsiveness was appalling.

I came to this UC because pain was getting worse and ear was draining while I was visiting family in the area and I wanted someone to visually see it in case it wasn't bacterial. My first mistake was picking this establishment without reading the reviews. Staff was professional enough but rushed and appeared understaffed. The male medical assistant became oddly snarky after I revealed I work in dermatology, which was quite awkward. The NP I saw later looked at my ear for maybe five seconds and said there was no evidence of a bacterial infection and I should stop the antibiotics. They said the MD I saw virtually was likely wrong about it being bacterial since they didn't see me in-person. After peeking at my nose and noticing it was draining (I have allergies in Central Oregon) they said all my pain must be due to congestion and to do anti-congestive meds OTC. Sounds reasonable enough. I have a lot of faith in medicinal professionals, so I tried their treatment for the next 24-48 hours. Unfortunately I ended up needing to be driven to the ER a couple days later because the pain in my ear went from painful to agony and it was draining even more pus with some blood. Long story short I needed to be admitted for mastoiditis (seen on CT scan) and had to go on multiple antibiotics and steroids. ER naturally did a culture of the external ear canal too, which grew out a heavy growth of pseudomonas aeruginosa (aka bacteria). My eardrum ended up rupturing from the infection which was extremely painful and may have damaged my hearing (although I haven't seen ENT yet to confirm). Overall, I'm very disappointed with the care I received here. I'd like to assume they were doing their best and I know misdiagnoses happen to even the best of providers. But I can't help but feel that if I had seen someone less rushed, more empathetic, and better trained I would have gotten what the original provider I saw thought was an infection confirmed and received earlier treatment. Maybe then I could have avoided an expensive ER visit and weeks of pain. But who knows. The $300 out-of-pocket cost for a 5 minute visit here just rubbed salt in the wound considering their "care" actually caused me a delay in treatment and caused me great amount of pain in the end. I would avoid this establishment if at all possible.

My husband goes to Dr. Burket's office for both dental and primary doctor purposes. He actually switched from Summit because he had a bad experience. Dr. Burket took care of my husband, just as we'd expect from any primary doctor. He got to do bloodwork (which Summit deprived him of and said "Just do it next year"). Well my husband has high cholesterol so we wasted a year when we could've been working on it (no thanks to Summit!). Dr. Burket made sure my husband was taken care of. His dental appointment also went well. Now for my own experience - I had one dental appointment last year in 2021 (and I go elsewhere for my primary doctor). Well I had an appointment this year in January but could not make it so when I canceled, they said the next available appointment was in September. I did not want to wait that long so I moved over to another dental clinic. No hard feelings but I wish they were able to hire more hygienists or something. We still highly recommend this office! I think Dr. Burket does a little of everything too (including pediatrics).

I miss Jaime, who was very personable, gave individual care and was communicative with patients…read more New crew here seems to be charging full price for seeing a PA only (i have yet to see the new doctor here), and following the "book" at the visit.... without getting to know patients. It's like they look it up after your visit (probably not but feels that way) and then add in extra notes or something after the fact, because things in the online follow up system they didn't talk about during the visit. I didn't know to go look for additional info on their system, as we hadnt discussed anything needed (except future exam) during my appointment. So I missed it and didn't do it. They didn't follow up with me when the blood test they added into the electronic follow up note subsequently remained incomplete (and note unread) since February. I found out about said blood test (and potential kidney risk?) once I called in a prescription refill, a normal activity i had done a few times since the last visit, which was surprisingly rejected by the pharmacy. Pine Springs then called to tell me I needed the blood test to make sure my kidneys were ok.....umm what? I didn't know that was a risk? They alsoprovided no instructions for the lab draw, just gave me the lab name, saying I could drop in anytime. When I went to the lab I was told I needed to be fasting.. so I had to go home and go back again later (yeah, I work full time with kids, and have all the time in the world, you betcha) Once the test came back (normal, whew) results were posted electronically (no call). Then I had to remind pine springs I still needed the prescription filled. They told me they'd called the medications to my pharmacy, but when I checked the pharmacy didn't have it. When I asked pine springs about it, they said they had sent it. The next day, I got a call from a different pharmacy to say I had an order ready, but just one of the 2 meds. So I called my pharmacy again and they now had the other med order. So pine springs sent the 2 med refills to different pharmacies. Not sure how that even happens. So I told pine springs about the mistake and said I'd go pick them up anyway since I needed the refills, but asked them to just please correct it for next refill. But no, they replied to say they cancelled the refill at the wrong pharmacy and sent the order to the original pharmacy. So now it is not ready again. No asking me what I'd like to do or if I was already headed to the pharmacy. Ugh.

There is something seriously wrong with the mindset of the healthcare providers here. I have been…read moreexperiencing increasingly intense migraines with increasingly difficult to manage symptoms for over a year. In my time of seeking help here I have felt crazy, dismissed, and spoken down to. I have given up on trying to describe and report symptoms that are now unmanageable. Recently I asked for a referral to either a neurologist or a headache specialist, as after half a year of getting meds to try and having increasingly worse results I have been past my breaking point. I was told last visit, after finally loosing my cool, that I would be referred to a local headache specialist that same day. That referral has not gone through two days later. I have frequently not received more than ten minutes of the providers time to discuss the migraines, and I feel that I have received the bare minimum of consideration. I would really implore the healthcare providers here to step back and reconsider their approach, I don't believe they have any malice in their intent, however, there is something truly wrong with their approach.
