My job was in a big UAB office building that did not have an active cafeteria, so they would have food trucks come serve us multiple times a month. Satay n Roll was definitely my favorite. I would usually get the Bagel Roll, and then pair it with either fried rice, fried dumplings, or crab angels, depending on my mood. Satay n Roll stays moving around, so I had not eaten from the truck since I left the Birmingham area. Luckily, I came into town this week and was able to track them down; they post a schedule on Facebook. I got the Bagel Roll, of course, and crab angels with a Diet Coke. It's a heavy meal, but yummy. The staff is also super nice. I would go on another adventure to track them down again!

I only ordered a couple of sides but their menu is very nice and the prices are very reasonable. The lady that took my order was friendly and the service was fast. I ordered the crab angels and fried dumplings. They were so good! The dumplings were crispy and delicious with the sweet chili sauce they were served with. The crab angels were crispy, creamy, and perfectly sweet with duck sauce. They were so good I forgot to take a picture. Thank you, Satay n Roll for making food that got my mom to eat. This meal is the only thing she's taken more than two bites of since she was admitted.

But don't worry, they had other options including various soups, salads, appetizers (we got the spring rolls, YUM. My son devoured them), and hibachi style dishes. We decided to get the Udon with shrimp and veggies, Osaka roll, and Vestavia roll. Genuinely, you can taste the love and care. The lovely lady at the front (I want to say was maybe the manager?) was all smiles and running around helping and talking with staff and guests alike. She stopped by our table and chatted with my son and told us she was happy they had "new family members" (LOVE). Our server was phenomenal, even seeing my son was struggling with his chopsticks so he rigged up a pair to be more kid friendly which was great. We were sat facing the sushi bar so we were watching how much care and effort they were putting into each plate. It was a sight to see. This place clearly cares about its patrons from the moment they come in til the moment they leave. The love they put into every dish and interaction should be something you get everywhere.
