I am a health care professional and know for a fact they don't have radiologist on site to read the mammograms. They hire out or state for the readings. If something is abnormal and you need a biopsy, you will end up going right back to the hospital who had performed your mammograms all along. I found the doctor at Alliance very unprofessional. The front staff weren't all that impressive, either with HIPPA violations left and right!

During our first visit we were given an information sheet with their prices. The nurse said that the antepartum care would be pro-rated, since we were coming to them six months into a nine month pregnancy. When we received the bill for the full amount I called billing and was told that for 1-3 visits the charge was $90/visit, but at 7 visits they charge the full amount, which comes out to $147.50/visit. A written letter to the head of billing was also to no avail. All of the out-of-state doctors we visited during her pregnancy did pro-rate their visits, so we were in effect billed by Lansing OB/GYN for work they did not do, and others were paid for.

Also, I agreed to schedule at the Grand Ledge (even though I live in Lansing) office to get this 'earlier appointment'. The day of the appointment came and I hit traffic and arrived exactly 7 minutes late. They told me Dr. Kiley left already because I was late. I was absolutely shocked. First, what doctor is out the door in 7 minutes? Yes, I was a few minutes late but she must have left 1 or 2 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. Second, what doctor cancels on a patient twice? She does not seem to care about patients if this is how she treats them. I am a reasonable person but this is the worst healthcare customer service experience I've ever received.

Even though he was not familiar with Natural Family Planning (which I use to both achieve and avoid pregnancy), he was happy to look at my charts and picked up on how to read them right away. He agreed with my assessment that I needed a higher level of progesterone and put me on the medication I needed (which resulted in a baby shortly!). I continued to see him throughout my pregnancy and was very pleased with him. He was extremely reassuring one night when I had some bleeding and let me come in for an ultrasound first thing in the morning. (Everything was fine.) He was also quite accommodating to my requests about labor and childbirth, such as that I be allowed to labor and deliver in any position I chose. (He didn't end up being the one present at my son's birth, however.) Dr. Wichert has a very kind, friendly manner. Even my friend who really didn't care for male OBs liked him quite a bit.

After trying for a year with no success, I went to see Dr. Gonzalez. Within 7 months I was pregnant with my daughter. I also went to him for my OB visits and he delivered my daughter. I looooved Dr. Gonzalez! After my daughter was born he pulled out a harmonica and played us a song. It was too funny. He delivered my son too. He is an awesome doctor.

Absolutely horrible…read more If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I went to Dr. Luis Gonzalez here a few years ago when I was having my first baby. He was very passive-aggressive in his appointments with me. I did not feel comfortable asking him questions without being made to feel stupid. The staff was even worse. The first time I had scheduled an appointment with them, apparently no one had even recorded it in the books, so when I arrived, I actually had to reschedule my appointment. On many other occasions, Dr. Gonzalez was not even in the office, which I understood because I know that emergency deliveries come up; but the staff was extremely RUDE about it. When I was ready to deliver my baby, Dr. Gonzalez was not available, so I had to have another on-call doctor deliver my baby. He was also extremely rude, and rushed me as quickly as possible in the delivery of my baby, as if I was inconveniencing him. He did not remove all of "afterbirth," and I ended up having a VERY SEVERE postpartum hemorrhage a few days later, for which I had to have a D&C operation. I was bleeding VERY heavily and passing grapefruit-sized clots. My husband first called Midwest Obgyn to ask what we should do. He told them the whole situation. They said they would call us back. No one EVER called back. So I just went to the ER and that's where I had the operation. After the operation, I was having some abnormal symptoms, so I called MIdwest Obgyn to ask what I should do. The receptionist was, again, VERY VERY rude. I told her I had some discharge, and she asked, "Is it a profuse amount?" and then she quickly retracted her statement, and said, "Is it a LARGE amount?", as if I would have no idea what "profuse" meant. They treat their patients as if they are all low-class morons. I happen to have a Master's Degree, by the way. I wanted to get in to see Dr. Gonzalez as soon as possible, because my symptoms were very concerning. She blew them off, as if it was just fine. She claimed she would call Dr. Gonzalez, but that he would probably say the same thing. She said she would call me back. As expected, she never called back. I had to call her, and she "claimed" she had spoken with Dr. Gonzalez, and that he said it was nothing to be concerned about. Basically just blowing me off. I immediately dismissed what they said (I know my own body), and went in to Planned Parenthood instead, and had an exam. I did, in fact, have an infection. It was a Bacterial Vaginosis infection, for which they gave me medication. So I was able to clear up the infection, but NO THANKS to Midwest. They clearly care NOTHING about their patients. I never did return, even for my 6 week postpartum checkup (which they rescheduled TWICE, due to Dr. Gonzalez not being available). I finally just said "Forget it!" I just couldn't bare to deal with them any longer. I would NEVER recommend this Obgyn office to anyone.
