The Theater: Very small theater, about 84 seats. Every seat is a good seat! The Show: "Mami, What's Your 20?" by Nadeen Gautier. One woman show.... 90 minutes no intermission. Impressive how she memorizes all the lines. Not only that she can also sing & dance. The Parking: Challenging on Ventura Blvd, only Street metered parking. South part of Ventura Blvd (most side streets), no parking after 6pm except city permit. Try north side of the Venture Blvd, they do have residential street parking.

First time at this theater. It was very nice and cozy. The temperature of the theater was just right. Acoustic was very good .The director Mr. Rasmussen was very nice, also the bartender. I went to see the play Freud on cocaine, great comedy. The play was very witty. It really made me laugh.

Despite the older structural look, Cinemark did retroactively install electronic Luxury Lounger reclining seats in the auditoriums. Because it sits slightly off the beaten path compared to the massive Regal over at the NoHo West complex, this Cinemark is famous locally for being a quiet, uncrowded haven during weekday matinees. We went to watch "Backrooms" a creepy movie about a dimension with endless luminal spaces. The theaters halls matched the movies vibe perfectly! After we finished the movie and walked out, It felt like we had stepped into the horror movie itself, large empty, completely silent theater that's something creepy you notice about this theater how completely silent it is other places play, soft music, especially in the bathrooms. This location is dead silent. You could hear a rat breathing.

We saw it in theatre 5 and upon viewing other reviews, SOMEONE ELSE had this same exact issue/experience in the same theatre 10 days prior! Meaning there was no extensive cleaning done at all. On top of that, I hated that the screen for our movie was up so high you needed to crane your neck up to watch the movie even when being fully reclined back all the way in the seats. The popcorn was stale with no flavoring and I put a bit of butter because I didn't want too much fats. The pepperoni pizza was surprisingly good and cooked well. However, the rest of the experience made this movie theatre a 1 star for me instantly.

I've had good experiences at Laemmle's Encino theater and had many memories from their old Sunset and Fallbrook locations, but this was my first time at their North Hollywood theater. You can buy your tickets online or in-person inside. I'm not gonna lie - with everything automated nowadays, it's been a minute since I actually got to interact with theater employees at the box office! Speaking of which, they were all friendly and happy to assist the moviegoers. Since it's an independent theater, the crowd leans towards the older side (nothing wrong with that since they're more respectable). The interior of the theater is clean, the sound and image are great, they've got a nice selection of independent movies - if you're in NoHo, give Laemmle a shot! Watched two movies- theater#1 was perfect seating, viewing and temperature of room was good. Theater #7, a smaller room, seating was not so great. I could have moved to another seat, but I didn't. The last row seat are too low and the seat in front blocked the subtitles. Otherwise great experience. Highly recommend the theater.

I was trying to do something fun with my kids over summer break, so we drove out to the city walk to see a movie. It was supposed to be a kids movie, which I was under the impression was an animated. However, it was not and with my realizing there was no way my toddler would watch it without disturbing everyone inside, we promptly went to the guest services desk to ask our options as we wouldn't be able to stay for the movie as didn't want to disrupt anyone. However, they really didn't want to do anything to help. Usually most theaters will give you either a refund or tickets to come back and see a movie. However, at this theater they would only refund less than half of what I paid to a gift card. ...why would I want a gift card (to spend more money) at a place that treated us so poorly? After paying for parking, buying concessions for 4 people, for a movie we couldn't even watch, we were already in the negative and I simply just wanted my full tickets refunded to my card/original payment method or tickets to come back. I wasn't asking for them to refund everything else, we were willing to "bite the bullet" on that. So it really felt like we were asking for the bare minimum. Anyways, We were in the movie for less than a couple mins. Might I mention, they weren't at any point friendly. Oh and we tried ordering popcorn but it was rlly burnt and bad... how do you get popcorn wrong? Ugh! I've never had any of these issues at Regal. After pleading with them, they gave me $9 on a gift card. I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do with a $9 amc gift card. It's not about the money, it's about the way we were treated and the lack of care for customers. All being considered, despite this previously being our favorite family theater, I would never come back to this theater. Regal recently remodeled their theaters and now have nice recliners with food trays, so they're definitely a step above AMC in quality, remodel, customer service, and price. They're actually much cheaper and I highly recommend them! Steer far away from AMC or any other establishment that treats customers poorly. All of this to say that they really don't care about customers here and your money would be better spent elsewhere. Just a warning to movie-goers!

The reason for that is simply because I wish so very badly I had found this school sooner and am having a hard time reconciling how much money I threw away paying teachers who just loved listening to the sound of their own voice). I have gone to almost 20 different acting schools both in England and the United States and I can say, with total confidence, that Max Decker at MAD Acting Studio is the most brilliant teacher with whom I have ever had the pleasure of studying. It took one evening in class with Max for me to instantly mourn all the money I realized I had honestly wasted studying under teachers who, at the end of the day, just spent endless hours pontificating nothing more than their love for the sound of their own voice. Teachers who, if they worked as actors at all, had maybe had one or two jobs in their entire "careers" and felt that was enough for them to call themselves teachers. Max has not only worked in this industry a long time and accrued an enviable resume, he really knows how to teach others to do this thing really, really well. He won't blow smoke up your skirt and always say how great you to keep you spending money to stay in his class. He will actually -teach- you to be a better actor. He will call you out on what's getting in your way and offer invaluable, constructive help. He offers a wide range of classes including: * Dramatic improvisation (not going for the joke, but giving you invaluable tools you can use for your scripted work), * Script analysis, and * How to successfully audition and self-tape If you currently find yourself in a class where you feel you're spending a bunch of money to not really learn anything new or, if you're looking for a place that will finally teach you the tools you need to be a better actor, MAD Acting Studio is the place you need to go.
