My first time going to a cat cafe and it was a success. The Tally Cat Cafe is a great spot. They have an awesome drink menu and everything is very affordable. They have something for everyone - coffee, teas, hot chocolate, cocktails and more. You can either drink your beverage in the lounge area or bring it in while visiting the cats. But beware, the cats enjoy the drinks and the straws so guard them with your life! The cats themselves were very sweet. They are rescues and up for adoption. The staff is very informative and great at telling you about each kitty. We brought our 3 year old daughter to the cafe and she had a blast. She really enjoyed her hot chocolate and loved all the kitties (don't know if it was always mutual). I would recommend making a reservation in advance because the slots do fill up. This was such a great experience!! We are traveling from New York and have never been to a cat cafe, and wanted to give it a try! We made online reservations the night before and arrived promptly the next day at noon for our visit. The staff was pleasant, the drinks were delicious and the cat/kittens were the sweetest!! My husband & I enjoyed sitting and allowing the cats to come to us for some love / rubs; while my daughter enjoyed the very playful kittens! It was both calming and enriching and we are so glad we came. This is such a wonderful idea to allow people the time and space to sit with cats before possibly adopting. If we lived in Florida I would have certainly put in an application for Rosa - she stole my heart!! All-in-all it was a PURRRfect experience!! read more

The first time I learned about the Cat Cafe concept, I immediately fell in love with the idea. Tally Cat Cafe is the first cat cafe I have ever visited and I found it to be pretty cool - but not quite what I envisioned when I first learned about the cat cafes springing up in other parts of the world. The best way for me to describe this is sort of like going to the humane society kitten room, but with a lot more modern seating and cat toy options - oh and generally agreeable/fun kitties/cats roam this space. No cats are at war like in many traditional pet adoption centers. I suppose I did not do enough research prior to visiting, since I had zero idea about the $7/hour fee to actually get to visit/interact with the cats. For some reason I pictured the sort of place where you purchase a beverage, sit at a random seat in the establishment, and cats may just be roaming around. Not the case here, heh. It is not unreasonably expensive but it is VERY helpful if you plan to arrive AT or near the TOP of an hour, or else you will do what I had to do- which was order two adorably decorated beverages and wait for 45 minutes. While you wait, you do have the entertaining view of watching the kittens play with the guests that are currently visiting (10 guests maximum at one time). But if there are a lot of people waiting to see the cats, then you might be waiting for quite a bit of time. Luckily they keep all visiting groups to a 1 hour limit - but we had the misfortune of only getting to see the cats in their playful, hyperactive state through the window for 45 minutes, because when it was our turn to finally enter the room, all of the cats were worn out and ready to go to sleep. So the group before us really lucked out. We still enjoyed our time in the cat room but had far less interaction with the cats than the previous group. One perk is that Tally Cat Cafe gives out loyalty cards, so since I earned two stamps from my first visit, I only have a few more visits to go before I earn a free one. A reward that I might not be able to reap unless I have company in town and another reason to go back. Lord knows I don't need another meowster running around just yet! read more

A cute cafe providing two of the best things ever in one place: coffee and kitties! After following them on social media for ages and seeing all of the adoptions they've helped to facilitate, I stopped in to try them for myself and enjoyed the experience, even if I was coming in just to drink coffee, study, and play with the cats. Serving up local Lucky Goat coffee, everything was reasonably priced and had cute cat accents to names and the drinks themselves. The busyness of the cafe seems to depend on the day, so you will want to book online/check in advance to see if there is room available. We enjoyed the visit with the cats for an hour ($8 per person) and loved on them to our hearts' content. They have a variety of ages, which is nice, as you can either relax with the older, sleepier cats on your lap or play with the energetic kittens. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back! I may not be looking for a new cat right now, but the Tally Cat Cafe provides the quality cuddle time with the kitties that I miss! read more

I've been to my share of cat cafes, including some in Japan where the trend originated. Tally Cat has a nice cat area. It's spacious and has a lot of toys for the cats. All the cats were adorable and it's great that you can adopt them. The owner told me that they usually do more than 4 adoptions a week. The cafe part of Tally Cat is lacking. There are not many food options and the drinks are limited. I got a cat design in my drink but it didn't exactly come out right. Delicious coffee and amazing presentation (see photos!), friendly staff, and obviously all the benefits of being around and interacting with kitties. Great as a relaxing solo outing or fun date idea. After losing one of my cats unexpectedly, I decided my wife and I needed to visit the tally cat café to help with the grieving process. We decided to get coffee - it was really good. I was actually surprised expecting sort of mediocre hotel coffee but it was on brand for Lucky goat and the espresso was very good. The prices are excellent. The donuts looked really good but we didn't have any. The variety of cats was spectacular! Different ages, different sizes, different looks, different personalities - it was really great, there was something for everyone. My only complaint was that there were two unsupervised children. A bit of a disclaimer before I begin: I do personally know the owner and one of the baristas, but I will as always do my best to remain impartial and unbiased in my review. I have been excitedly anticipating the opening of Tally Cat Cafe for quite some time. The concept of a cat cafe, where one can enjoy coffee or tea while in the company of shelter cats looking for their forever home, is in my mind both novel and refreshing, exactly the sort of establishment missing from the Tallahassee caffeine scene. In a city largely comprised of stressed out college students, a comfortable space to relax while surrounded by potential new furry friends sounds like an ideal place for taking a break from studies. When I later heard that Lucky Goat would be supplying the coffee and training the baristas for this location, I knew I would have to drop by as soon as they opened, as Lucky Goat supplies the best cup of joe in town. I am thrilled that Tally Cat has exceeded my expectations. The staff's commitment to the cats cannot be understated, and though the space doesn't yet have that lived in, homey feel that one typically associates with a good cafe, you can sense the love that went into creating the cat room and crafting the cat-themed menu. The drinks are phenomenal - nothing less than the best Lucky Goat has to offer - and I look forward to trying the 'Russian Blue' next time I swing by; I'm told that it, "...tastes like breakfast in a cup," which sounds dangerously addictive. It's also worth mentioning that the cat room and dining area are both separate and impeccably clean, so one needn't worry about whether the cats have washed their paws. They have an all gender friendly bathroom, which is super awesome and is something I almost never see anywhere. It's also very clean. The cats were all very nice, although obviously some wanted to be allowed to sleep and thusly left alone. One kitten did have an accident, which is to be expected as they're going through potty training -- just make sure to tell whoever is up front! Also, their policy with children is a lot friendlier than other cat cafes I've visited, if you're looking to bring your kids or what have you. They also have a small selection of pastries. The main attraction, however, is the cat playing area. There were several cats inside & they were so fun to watch! The cat room has tons of trees and toys for the cats to play with. They all come from the humane society and are eligible for adoption, which I think is a great concept. It's important to note, however, that it costs $7 per person to go play with the cats for one hour. It's best to book your time slot ahead of time, especially on the weekends, as it gets crowded. My friend & I went on a Friday night & were unable to get in. Nonetheless, we still had a good time watching the cats through the glass. They have great accessories that I end up purchasing off of Amazon for my cat as well, and they were accommodating answering questions and concerns that I had before adopting. The cat/kitten area is calm and quiet, watch out for the young kitten eager to jump on your lap soaking up of your attention. My cat, Bella, has been with me for over a month, she was clean, records up-to-date and has been a great addition to my home. I just absolutely love this place. I've been but once, and I really admire what they are doing 1) for the cats that are there looking for a loving home and 2) for cat lovers all over Tallahassee.
