DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!! I been living here for 6 years now. Looking back I saw the reviews about the trash. When I went to see the complex. I didn't see trash but the rental demo was far from the problem areas and they kept that area clean. Just my luck I was placed in the area where trash is overrun and my neighbors are stepping over it. Raccoons, and possums run rampant. I have complained because raccoons have shitted in front of my garage. It took 2 weeks for them to clean it. Besides the garbage, everything they promised when I first moved there was not done. They have never painted or changed the carpet.( we have wall to wall carpet). I was told they painted every 4 years when I first moved, then the pandemic hit, it changed to 5 and when I asked again about painting and changing carpet, I was told I had to put all my belongings into storage and the apartment had to be empty. That's money and time I don't have. I find the staff to be racist, aloof and unapproachable. The majority of the tenants are East Indian, blacks and Hispanics. Now they are accepting section 8 housing vouchers. In my 6 years there the only 2 staff members that have been helpful and friendly is Alan and Tashena. Now I am being harassed about a car that is sitting in my driveway, not taking up any public space. Meanwhile there is a car that has been parked in a public space since before July. They are ruthless, I seen them evicted a family with 5 kids. I have always paid my rent and never cause any problems. If I could move right now I would. Please be weary. Good afternoon I have been leaving in talmadge village for some years an now I feel like I am being watched they have a towing company drive around tow people car with knowing for false reasoning then the complex has know idea where our car is then the towing company put a false repot an said we need a parking pass witch we do not get in our complex as long as we are parked in a spot we are fine now the new manger bonny Reese is doing whatever in stead of informing the residents I had to fill a complaint with the towing company I had to call the cop just for them to release my car....then after all that the following morning I see the towing people driving around at 10 in the morning got out his car an individual looking at people inspection stickers on cars that are in parking spots an my car was one of them an then he got back in his tow truck an left like why are looking at random people's cars if nobody called for it to be towed or is wrongfully parked is mind blowing is all im saying there is a right way to go about things an that is not the way talmadge village need to better like shampoo there residents carpet read more

Absolutely DISGUSTING!!! Every day I leave for work I have to step over garbage. Every night I come home I get hissed at by raccoons and step over smelly garbage once again. I have nicely asked management to have the neighbors put lids on their garbage cans multiple times. I have left voice messages to get in touch with management and have been ignored. I had company over and was beyond embarrassed as they even mentioned how disgusting this complex is. I'm at the point were I don't even care if I loose my security deposit because my husband and I are so unhappy here. Not to get into location because we obviously made a horrible decision but you can barley sleep at night being right next to a highway. Sports cars fly by all night. When we moved in we were told there was a special wrap that would be installed onto the windows to help with sound. First week we moved in apparently it didn't exist. Also our AC broke this summer and it took 4 days to get maintenance here to fix it. So talk about sweaty nights. Spend the extra $100 a month and find yourself a better place. read more

Imagine the worse possible place to live. Now imagine something 100x worse. This is life as a resident of Talmadge Village. I have been a resident of Talmadge Village for 3 years. This is my last and final year. In the beginning, it appeared to be a safe, well maintained community. Over the past few years, the safety & care for this development has plummeted. There has been an up rise in the amount of Section 8 units allotted and it is very evident. Last summer, there were several break-ins into the ground level units. An Edison police officer friend of mine confirmed the 11 break-ins were related to Section 8 renters. In addition to these crimes, there is a problem with delivery packages being stolen. I started having my home delivery's go to a friend's address. There have also been numerous car thefts and hit in run accidents for those who do not have a garage/ drive way. Aside from the undesirable neighbors and lack of safely, the grounds are poorly maintained. The landscapers come about every week and a half. While they do mow the lawn, they also leave their trimmings on your balcony and in the walkway areas. When I asked if someone can please talk to them about leaving branches and debris everywhere, I was told to "sweep it myself". For the past 2 years, they have not planted ANY flowers. There are empty flowerbeds from years ago filled with dirt and garbage. A few days ago a maintenance worker painted the outside of my balcony, when I asked him if he needed to come inside to complete his painting, he told me he's only painting the outside so it is cosmetically more appealing. At this point, I am embarrassed to have people visit me. In Talmadge Village, they do not offer dumpsters, so, often wild animals get into the trash cans and cause a massive mess. The garbage usually sits around for days at a time until maintenance has time to clean. As if they have not cut back on things enough, a few months ago they installed new toilets and showerheads, in an effort to conserve water. Now you must flush your toilet at least 3-4 times to get your waste removed. The showerhead water pressure is now so low, that it takes longer wash yourself. It takes me an additional 10 minutes. While the property quality has gone down, your rent will increase every year. In the beginning, I did not mind the increase because the grounds were well maintained. Winter Storm Juno 2016. HORRIBLE CLEANUP. I had to travel from south Jersey to assist my mother who is older. The complex was completely snowed in. It's understood that cars need to be shoveled out by the renter but the entrance to the complex was snowed in, as well as all roadways to the apartments. What if there was an emergency? Vehicles were trapped in. No way to get out. This happens every heavy snowfall. No answer to phone calls by maintenance. Garden Communities/Talmadge Village/ Durham Woods is horrible. It's awful that an entire complex is snowed in. read more

Just moved in. Lost a package. Got hung up by the emergency team three times. The smoke detector has been beeping for over 20 min close to 10 pm this time. Emergency staff said he would stop by when he got a chance. No idea when that would be. Still waiting. read more

hi We seems to have serious issues related to "security issues" which i never seen last 3 rs living here. I'm seeing serious incidents people knocking the door for no reason and speeding on streets and most importantly talking bad words while going for a walk near intersection of talmadge village/durham woods near building 12 durham woods near to play ground i was just walking and few african/american kids group of 12 approx starting taking bad which forced me to call the police for emergency of causing some serious issues and where these kids few guys surrounding me approx 5"10 and 5"00 height started scolding/teasing where the police cop came in and started talking to guys/kids confirming that this shouldn't happen anytime later and asked me to walk other way where these people are not there for safety and security. the community is in serious trouble in form of security/life concerns as we see in news these days. my sincere request for ur life security this happened to most of my friends/myself in durham woods/talmadge village since 4 months.... no security..trust me..... read more
