Don't get their tamales or their pupusas. They are not very good. Their pupusa was extremely bland, and was super hard and chewy. It wasn't fresh. Their tamale was also very dry. Another time we tried their taco with Carne asada. It was super greasy and came with a few pickled veggies and a sad lemon. Also not worth the $4. We've been here multiple times in order to give Their Agua frescas drinks are great though. We've enjoyed their multiple flavors and their horchata. read more

One of my favorite taco places in SF! Great to grab a bite to eat at the Sunday farmers market. Sometimes there is a line to order since it gets popular during lunch, but it's worth the wait. The al pastor tacos are my favorite. The pork is juicy and tender, with a hint of spice. The tacos are pretty small, but they double layer the tortillas so it's still filling. They even come with salsa, jalapeños, and pickled carrots. So yummy and bursting with flavor. Don't skip out on the drinks here either. Love the horchata, it's cold and creamy with a sweet cinnamon spice, like a liquid churro. We also got the hibiscus juice, which had a fruity, floral taste. Was on the sweeter side, but not bad. This is just a review of the pork tamale and I think it's excellent. Unlike other pork tamales I've had the meat isn't stringy and there's a small bit of fat chopped up with the meat mix making it more succulent. Flavor is good! read more

Our Sunday nosh consisted of foods from various vendors at the Stonestown Farmers Market. My group always inevitably gravitates towards Mexican food; we had the misfortune of coming across the Tamales Martha tent. Their business namesake, ironically, was the worst of our haul. Their flavorless tamales had the weirdest dense, watery, almost plasticky texture. I ordered a chicken taco but it was replaced with another meat I couldn't immediately identify (some kind of pork, perhaps?) so I didn't partake. Those who had the carne asada & carnitas said they were average, but not something they would ever again purchase. Pupusas didn't taste fresh, like, aren't you supposed to make those to order?! Got al pastor tacos with sour cream and cheese. They were oily and messy to eat but they tasted pretty good. Price was $3 for just al pastor and $1 extra for the sour cream and cheese. I would order from here again if I'm in the area. read more

I came here with my friend when we went to the Clement Street farmers market. We got asada and al pastor tacos, and hibiscus and horchata drinks. The tacos were both really good, with a good portion of meat and fresh and pickled veggies. The al pastor definitely had more flavor than the asada, but both were good in my opinion. I also enjoyed the salsa and pickles, although I couldn't fit it all in the tacos and ended up eating the pickles separately. The drinks were both quite sweet, but the horchata had a nice cinnamon flavor and the hibiscus was refreshing. read more

Avoid at all costs. Sadly, I have nothing good to say about this experience. This is the first time Tamales Martha showed up to the Stonestown Farmer's market. I'd give zero stars if possible for the food and hygiene. The horchata and agua fresca were good, so I guess they deserve one star. Just look at that photo of a "breakfast burrito" supposedly with chorizo. It was just a bland, wet mess. Oddly, I tasted cloves in there somewhere, but that was the only flavor. Just can't discern any of the ingredients. This place has clearly been around for a while as the tent was well worn in, and the cash box was black with filth. My guess is they hit up a new farmer's market, then work it until everyone has tried it once and given up, then they move on to the next. read more

After shopping at the Clement St. Farmer's Market today we opted for Tamales Martha for lunch. The papusas looked good but ended up being super bland and soggy in the middle. The green and red sauces helped a little but they were pretty awful. The main attraction was even worse. Bland, cold corn tamale encased cold cheese logs of rubbery, gross, waxy, dollar-store cheddar. Even the salad with ranch dressing lacked flavor. I think these tamale trucks by Martha are a franchise serving insulting food across the bay. Do yourself a favor, avoid the indigestion in favor of some fresh produce or baked goods for lunch at the awesome farmers market! read more
