It is served with Bini's spicy tomato cilantro sauce on top; the sauce is delicious with just a slight/mild kick. Vegetarian Momos ($12) - Comes in 8 pieces. Vegan dumplings filled with tofu, carrots, & cabbage. Also served with the spicy tomato cilantro sauce on top. I love how clean yet tasty this is! Vegetarian Combo ($18) - Comes with 4 vegetarian momos and one veggie side served on top of fragrant basmati rice. For the sides, I love the Baigun Bharta, a tomato-based braised eggplant. It's saucey and pairs extremely well with the rice. The only reason I'd dock off half a star for this combo is the price. You can also mix and match the momos. For a more balanced meal, I request half chicken and half vegetarian ($14). Bini's also has a stand outside the Ferry Building every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I narrowed my choices down to Bini's Kitchen and its neighbor, SF Chickenbox. I don't eat Nepalese food very often, so the edge went to Bini's. I ordered the combo, and as I struggled to decide between chicken and lamb, the person taking my order said he'd give me both - he served me the lamb momo along with chicken and rice. The sauce was very tasty and a bit spicy, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. A combo plate costs almost $20, but it's a generous portion that lasted me for two meals. I did not have such a great experience today, but since I had this review in draft mode for a while, I'm going to review based on my last two experiences... I had walked past this place so many times but was never curious enough to check out the menu. One day, while wandering around feeling uninspired, I finally decided to give it a look and discovered they serve Nepalese momos! I love all kinds of dumplings, so I was instantly sold. I ordered the chicken, lamb, and vegetarian momos, eight pieces each. The meat ones were $14 and the veggie was $12. I practically skipped back to the office, ready to dig in. They were so good ! Full of flavor, juicy, and perfectly spiced. I just wish they had been a little hotter, but a quick 10-second microwave fix did the trick. I took the rest home and steamed them up the next day, adding a spoonful of Trader Joe's Crispy Garlic Crunch, which made them even better. My husband and son loved them too. The momos were super delicious and the staff was really kind and efficient: plain and simple! They serve combos and also small plates of 8 momos in lamb, turkey, and vegetable. Though it's not an option they advertise, we asked for 4 each of lamb and turkey and were glad we got to try both! I preferred the turkey, but found the dumpling wrapping, filling, and sauce was all really tasty! We also had the mango lassi which was pretty good. I'm wondering if this is made from real mangoes or some kind of pre-made corporate mix. They have turkey and vegetable flavors too as well as mango Lassi drinks. I went for the lam momos and they are so delicious with the tomato dipping sauce on top. They look like soup dumplings but without the soup and very meaty. They also add this spicy, sour kind of orange sauce on top with lots of delicious seasoning and flavor. Once the lunch crowd arrives, your wait will be at least 15 minutes, but it's still worth waiting for! I usually get the chicken ghorka combo with turkey momos. It comes with 4 delicately wrapped dumplings atop of a bed of juicy chicken and rice drenched in creamy tomato sauce. If you're looking for a lighter meal, try just an order of lamb momos. You get 8 of them and they are garnished with the same tomato sauce. The cashier is always super friendly and after ordering, you get your food pretty quick. My go-to spot when I'm craving for some dumplings/momos! For under $10, you can get 8 delicious dumplings with yummy sauce. Their veggie dumplings and their turkey ones go for $7 plus tax, and the lamb ones are an additional $2. I tried an order of their veggie ones, and enjoyed it so much. The texture of the dumpling skin was perfect, and they didn't skimp out on the filling. I lucked out because there wasn't much of a line when I went (1:30PM or so), but have seen long lines around noon. The sauce they put on the momos is great too. Some people might find it spicy if they are very sensitive to spice, but personally, I wished there was a bit more of a kick to it, or that they put some of that sauce on the side because sometimes it isn't enough. I tried the chicken curry combo the next time I went here. That was in the same size box as the 8 veggie momos. The box was filled with rice, 4 turkey momos, and the curry chicken. The chicken itself wasn't too try. It was more of the shredded chicken type, with some big chunks here and there. I wished there was more curry sauce though, as I was left with mostly un-sauced rice at the end. The turkey momos were good too, but I prefer the veggie ones. I went back a third time to get the veggie momos, as I felt that was better money spent ($7 compared to $12 for the combo) and I liked the momos more than the rice. They were quick, but I did enjoy the momos the first time I had them. I've passed by Bini's Kitchen multiple times on my treks through FiDi. How can you not? This one is right behind Montgomery BART station. Perhaps you've walked by it and never noticed. This particular day of catching up with my friend wasn't the best time to visit because it was scarf weather and no outdoor seating. I ordered Jeera rice pulao with Nepali vegetarian chili. Excellent price and speedy service. My friend and I ate our food in the public seating area at the Galleria nearby. The food was okay, and it was a LOT of the same thing. Next time I'd have gotten the momos and mango lassi, perhaps to even split with my friend for variety. Overall it's a great stall for a quick bite. They specialize in a limited menu so it's easy to come back and try everything. Take it back to the office if you'd like. It stays fresh and warm for awhile. What an hidden gem for lunch in the fidi right at Montgomery BART. More like a little Nepalese food shack, this spot is quick, cheap and delicious. No seating, so take out only. They do momos real well. Looks like turkey and veggie are the staples with the third option varying. We ended up with bison and they were delicious and super filling. I was stuffed after 4! A nice amount of flavorful bison filled these doughy dumplings and accompanied by a light chutney sauce. The also offer up curry chicken rice and wraps. I went with the wrap and for $8 it's a ton of food! The chicken was plentiful and well prepared, although not a ton of flavor. This dish definitely needed a little something - an extra sauce or some fresh veggies for a little kick. I noticed that on the menu there was mention of pico and hot sauce, which I don't recollect, so I'd make sure to ask for extra. I added some sriracha and although it didn't quite go with the flavors, it added that extra oomph the wrap needed. I'm not from SF so I won't even attempt directions but it's behind the big construction thing for 1 post plaza tucked in a corner. On to the food: I got the chicken + momo combo ($13.06 with tax). The momo (essentially a dumpling) was 4 pieces and very good. My favorite part and I'd probably just get that if I were to return. The combo also comes with a curried chicken (similar to tikka masala) and yellow rice. I thought the rice needed more salt and that might have gotten them 5 stars.
