Pixel Aided photography has been a huge part of capturing all of the biggest moments in my life. Tamara has done numerous photoshoots for myself and my family.
I went to a charter school where they didn't take senior portraits, so my first experience with Pixel Aided was doing graduation/senior portraits. We took them in Balboa Park and Tamara was great with going to different spots of the park to capture different looks (from the grassy fields to the beautiful architecture).
My second time using Tamara was taking family and individual portraits (including our dogs) at our neighborhood park. She spent quality time with each of the singular portraits and didn't make us feel rushed. She also got amazing pictures of the dogs and was so patient with all of our requests.
My next two experiences with Pixel Aided Photography was during the summer time (two years in a row) while my best friend was in town visiting from college. The first year was at the beach where she found these amazing huge rocks for us to pose on and use as a backdrop. The second year was in Chicano park in front of some beautiful graffiti art. These are my favorite photos that I have of us together. Using the art was an amazing and artistic backdrop without drawing the attention from us. My best friend and I have been friends since we were toddlers, so we were so grateful to finally have some professional quality pictures of us, compared to the disposable camera quality photos we have of growing up together.
I was so happy that Tamara was available to do our engagement photos. My fiancé and I are both very silly and full of life, so we didn't want the topical romantic style engagement photos, instead we wanted to have a paint war. Tamara made sure she knew exactly what we wanted to do and exactly what shots we wanted. It was important to us to have the photographer understand precisely what we wanted because wouldn't have been able to reenact some of the shots. We ran around a park and had a paint fight with each other while Tamara caught it all on film. We did end up doing a few romantic portraits before the paint war (by Tamara's suggestion), and I'm so glad we did. We also did some romantic portraits after we were covered in paint which turned out perfect. She really captured our vivacious personalities. We loved so many of the pictures that we ended up using a collage of them for our wedding invitation.
We would have used Pixel Aided with our wedding, but they were already booked.
When my husband and I found out we were pregnant, one of the first things we did was tell Tamara and ask if she would do a pregnancy shoot at the beach for us (once I was showing more). Around 7 months later, she drove up to the beach near us and took beautiful pictures of my husband, myself and my bump. She got beautiful pictures and really captured the joy in our faces. I was really self conscious about my weight and Tamara really understood and got really stunning and flattering photos of me. There were a few shots where we had to wait for the tide to cooperate and Tamara was very patient and professional.
Just this December when my husband and I were discussing holiday cards, the first thing he told me to do was to check Tamara's availability and book a session. She brought a few backdrops and some props and took amazing photos of our 3 month old son. We used the printing system through her website to get them printed out and had them ready to ship out to all our friends within the week.
We will most definitly be using her for our sons first birthday and any other huge occasions in our family. read more
