The cabins are cute, cozy and comfortable with a nice little kitchen, which is very handy for an extended vacation. The cabins are nice for two people, though they would feel cramped for a larger group of adults. The cabins are air conditioned. I like the location, just a few minutes north of Seeley Lake. It's much more peaceful than staying in Seeley Lake or at a campground, especially in the summer. The rates are very reasonable, esp. compared to Tamarck or Double-Arrow. The Whitetail Cabins are right across from Boy Scout Rd, which is a great biking route into Seeley Lake. One caveat-There is NO internet access, which was OK since I was trying to get away from work, etc, but can be inconvenient. If you want to check email, drive down to Rovero's and use their wi-fi.

The sites are spacious and several have a fantastic view of the lake. There are kayaks and paddle boards for rent at the front entrance. The camp hosts, Shambra & Tim, were so friendly and helpful!

Some highlights: 1) Charged us a per-stem fee when asked if he could store 2 buckets of flowers in their walk-in overnight as we were doing our own flowers to save money. We could only afford a 35 person wedding and some of our guests couldn't afford to stay at the lodge so were next door in the campground. 2) About 10 minutes before our ceremony, I was sitting at the bar with a friend and my brothers, ordered a single drink. Christian made sure to swoop by and tell the server that what I ordered wasn't included in our drinks package and should be charged to my room. A friend said "No, I'll pay cash" in disgust. 3) Staff there seemed depressed, and at one point one of them pitifully informed us it was because working for him was such a nightmare. He was intentionally rude in the most spiteful ways and an angry person in general. Wrote some reviews that he somehow figured out how to get removed in other places, but he would respond to facts like these by accusing you of being mentally unstable. No, Christian, we're just not rich and maliciously bitter. I'm not writing this review because I'm mad at you, even - I just genuinely don't want other people to have their special day ruined because they weren't wealthy enough to make you happy. We weren't bridezillas or something - we planned a simple, small wedding with what budget we could and explained this early on in our only skype call, and there was maybe 4-5 emails exchanged after that. We tried to be exceedingly easy to work with because we knew we couldn't afford all the bells and whistles, and in exchange we felt punished for not being rich enough to enjoy our wedding at the lodge my wife got to play at as a child.

The setting is in the woods so there is some nice atmosphere. There is a bar on site, so you won't die of thirst. The rooms are clean and the decor is really quite delightful. The light switches are a hoot, the bed frame is pure Montana. There a limited edition prints on the wall in nice frames. There is good TV and free wifi. Shower is hot, towels are plentiful and the over all setting is nice. Not much to look at from the outside, but once you get inside, it is very pleasant. As one wall plaque in my room says, "May the peace o9f the wilderness be with you." The rate was reasonable.....$82 including tax. Funky clean and confortable.

They tried to sleep in their sleeping bag but although they were the only guests, noises outside the room interfered with their sleep. At our convenience we were seated for dinner in an intimate dining environment near a crackling fire in the fireplace. Our waitress was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about all aspects of her job. From questions regarding menu items to choosing the best wine this young lady had all the right answers. Being the holiday season there was a Christmas tree lighting ceremony involving a 20 ft fir tree and actual candles. It was amazing. The food was excellent from the appetizer to the entrees and finally dessert. This is a hidden gem in the Seeley Lake area and not to be missed. I can't wait to return.

In a nutshell, the owners and staff are very nice folks, our cabin was clean and comfortable, however we both thought there are better dude ranch options out there if you're looking for a full week stay. They cater more as an outfitter guiding 7-10 multi day pak trips, which leave and arrive at various times during our week stay. The guest that stay at the ranch, are more of an afterthought. They allow guests to stay & ride for just a couple nights/days and then continue on with their Montana vacation. If you're looking for a 2-3 night stopover, sleep in a cabin and ride a horse a few times this is your place! If you're looking for a full week stay at an authentic dude ranch there are better choices. We had a good time, and the scenery from the lodges patio is beautiful, but the quality of the lodge, food, cabins, barn corral area, spring fed ponds were furthest from "authentic dude ranch" of the five ranches we have visited.

The resort has a few kayaks and canoes free for the use of the guests. There is also a dock available if you choose to bring a boat or other water craft. A fire put with provided fire wood is located near the sandy beach. The resort also provides coffee beans and grinder in every cabin so the guests can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning. I definitely recommend the resort for a relaxing get away.
