Hmm. Seems to have gotten a lot of bad reviews. But I guess that's expected because not many people go out of their way to write positive reviews for apartments. Maybe most of the complaints are about the 1bedrooms. I think most are in the downstairs units. I can only speak of the two bedrooms. Just to contradict one reviewer, we have two bathrooms. Anyway... Our two bedroom has plenty of light. I love how natural light comes in. To be fair, I'm in a corner unit. I like the first floor plan. It might not be for everyone, but I like that three areas are pretty much fused to create a very open environment. It makes the place look bigger. Plus, walls take up space. Why put them in if you don't have to? Noise has not been an issue. I expected to hear the baby crying next door, but I haven't heard a peep. Either it's the most even-tempered baby in e entire world, or the walls keep the noise out. I'm going to go with the latter. I think the management team is what has made it the most enjoyable so far. They've responded very promptly and courteously to all of requests, issues, yada yada. ( I think it's a new management team. They're great). Of course, I'd be remiss to forget about the maintenance staff. Super friendly and on top of things. The only bad things I would complain about are the residents. Some park over the line and prevent other cars from using the adjacent spot. You can tell some do this on purpose. Others simply flow over because they try to squeeze their SUVs into the compact spots. Minor issues to some, but a major pet peeve of mine. The second is that one or some dog owners don't pick up after their dog(s). Really, people?! Anyway, the short of it is, I like Tamarind. read more

Very nice complex in a quiet area of Sunnyvale. We're in a 2BR 2BA townhome and are amazed at the lack of noise from the neighbors (compared to just about every other complex in the bay area). We've experienced friendly neighbors, responsive office staff and maintenance, and solid construction that has led to low PG&E bills and a nice sound barrier to outside noise. The only negative is the lack of a private garage (You're assigned 1 carport and first come, first serve parking for a 2nd vehicle). The only way you will find a more well-built home is to bypass renting altogether and purchase a condo. read more

We moved in a month ago and so far its been great. The apartment is very spacious and the floorplan with the bedrooms upstairs is nice. The walls also seem to be pretty well insulated since we don't hear any noise from our neighbors. The only complaint I have is that there is no bathroom on the main floor, which is inconvenient when you're lazing on the couch watching tv or when guests come over. The stairs up to the apartment are also fairly steep. We have 2 cars and finding parking hasn't been an issue, though parking spaces tend to be tight. The staff has been very responsive and helpful. We had a couple of minor maintenance issues when we first moved in and the maintenance staff fixed the issues within a day. Rent is high, but the apartment is nice and the location convenient. read more

Love this apartment complex, it is conveniently located between Highway 237 and 101 in a nice quite neighborhood. They allow pets which is a major plus for animal lovers. The staff here are all very friendly and accomodating and try their best to ensure the happiness of their guests. I've lived in many apartments before where parking and noise was a huge issue; but living in Tamarind Square I don't have to worry about that. read more

I live here in Tamarind square. I have a two bedroom apartment and it is really spacious. I have plenty of storage which is one of my favorite things. The amenities are great! The community is really safe and quiet. My son and I take many walks around the property and I can see that it is kept clean. Even the paint on the curbs always have a nice shine to them ( the small details matter) the landscaping is also kept up. As far as the customer service goes Chantelle and Fausto are a spectacular team. They really know what they are doing and really do their best to make sure everyone is happy. This is my favorite place I have lived in. We are truly happy to have found Tamarind square! read more

There is only one way to describe it - terrible! The new manager is awful - completely discourteous and rude. At the time of move out we got professional cleaners to clean the apartment and yet they charged for move out cleaning. I wonder how that works. Expect to not get your deposit back and rude behavior when you move out! read more

The place is nice and in good conditions, however nothing exceptional, and still the rent is too much money for what its worth. There are better places to live in Sunnyvale and Mountain View that you can rent for over 2.k a month and really enjoy it. My personal opinion is if you pay this much money for rent you should want not only to live in a really nice place, but also you'd want to have a great customer service from your apartment manager. Being defensive and a bit arrogant when a prospective tenant has concerns or questions is not a good customer service. If you want a great living experience where you rent, I don't think this is the place for you. read more

I did not live in this apartment. We went for an apartment visit 2 minutes earlier than due time. They just started visit with 2 other families and kept us waiting. (How can you do that when you have an appointment in 2 minutes??)We waited for about 20 minutes. Then we decided to leave, and saw that they left us in the office locking the door both ways! Did not even gave us any heads up on what time they are coming back. read more

This place is great; even far better than I expected! The landscaping and grounds upkeep are immaculate. The staff are super-friendly and always welcoming, even to my dog (the highlight of her day is going into the leasing office to get a dog treat from the staff!). The maintenance person is always friendly, well-dressed, and respectful of tenants' space. And, to top it off, all the tenants I've met here are also very friendly. It is small enough to feel like a real community rather than a 'commodity' apartment complex. The 2-bedroom townhouses are a great lay-out: a huge kitchen with center island and plenty of cabinet space, and two master suites with huge walk-in closets upstairs. Terrific!! read more

The apartment is fine and the complex is quiet. Chantelle was a great manager, very pleasant to work with and very responsive. She left a few months ago and since then management has moved to charging for every single maintenance request: changing burnt light bulbs - $9. Broken window blinds $2 each. These are results of bad and cheap design of the blinds: they are wrongly designed and a few can break off every time you open/close the window blinds. Instead of addressing the problem properly or taking responsibility for it, they decided to pass on the maintenance cost onto renters. These should definitely be covered by the rent they charge. They nickel and dime renters; silly decision on their part, because I would have given them a good review had it not been for their treatment of renters. read more

They gave me an offer to renew my lease at my current rent rate which is almost $300 above the rent at a comparable apartment at Avalon Silicon Valley. I declined, and they offered me a $75 discount. They are being very polite and understanding, but apparently delusional about the prospects. It won't take much time or effort for me to move to Avalon Silicon Valley, which is 2.5 miles away, but I am really surprised that they are not willing to keep a tenant who is always on time with the rent and has never caused a single problem. If they would rather keep the rate high at the risk of increasing the number of vacancies, I am not in the position to judge, and I am certainly happy that my lease is up and I am free to move and save on rent. I have to admit, I am a bit put off by the situation, hence the rating drop. read more

The reason why I give this place 4 stars is mostly because of the maintenance guy Bralio. He is absolute amazing and put his heart in this place. Whenever something is not working or we need help, he always makes sure that whatever it is that needs to be fixed that it will be taken care of. The Facility is very clean and I see him always walking around checking if everything is in order. I don't know what this guy makes but he should get a raise for how much effort he puts in his work. Other than that we had a couple of Problems with this place when we moved in. Our AC was not working for a while, every time we cut the AC on water was dripping from the ceiling and the carpet was soaked with water. We had many people in our house trying to fix it with no success. To be fair we got a discount on our rent for one month but only because we asked for it since we could not use the AC and it was very hot in the house. After weeks of attempts to fix the AC they offered us to move in to the townhome right next to us and they offered also to pay for our move. When I checked the price for rent on this unit online it was $ 450.00 cheaper than ours but it was exact the same house when I called the Management and asked her about the rent she said it will be the same then the one we were living in right now?????????????? How could that be??????? After we were going back and forth with them they offered to give us the house next door $400.00 cheaper. Before we made a decision they finally could fix the AC so we decided to stay in our house and asked if we could get a lower rent on our house since the other one was exact the same but $ 450.00 cheaper and they also didn't had to pay for our move but they did not wanted to give us a lower rent. I be honest I feel a little iffy about this business with the rent because I also heard from other people that we are the ones that pay the most for our home. Don't know how to feel about that but find it very confusing and I feel a little cheated. read more

I lived here for the past year and had to move out recently closer to work. This is one of the best places in the area and I really loved it. This apartment community has very friendly and responsive management (Chantelle and Ena). They are always ready to help and really care about the tenants. Fausto, who is in-charge of maintenance does a great job. He's very friendly, responsive and tends to be on top of the request.They are around everyday and take good care of the complex. The landscape is quite beautiful and peaceful. Apartment itself is spacious and fairly modern. It has great amenities and the Seven Seas park is just around the corner. Lease is ending and they are increasing by 400$. Everything in the apartment is cheap and falling apart. The hot water takes 2 minutes of running water before even starting to be hot. The people at the office don't really care about you. read more

Tamarind Square is a great property! We love working with the apartment staff and the management company. My company places people at Tamarind Square for 6 to 12 months at a time for their temporary housing. The location is perfect for them and the apartments are clean, have many amenities and a friendly staff! This review was long due. I was a resident at this community back in 2010 for ~3 years and I found so well maintained and convenient that I moved in once again in 2014 to 2016. I had a town house which I enjoyed with no noise problem at all. The apartment is nice and cozy with new appliances and very well Ethernet connectivity (they have a switch in the that can give you wired internet anywhere in the home!) The management team of Chantelle and Tess are pleasure to work with, and the maintenance crew Jose and Braulio are the most friendlies crew I have encountered in my a decade long renting life. A big shout out to Chantelle, who is always curious and cares for the tenants. There is a newly constructed park nearby for kids and adults in walking distance- a huge plus for people like me with kids. If I have to nitpick, I would say the landscaping gets a bit of wild once in a while and they used to keep pool tables balls in lock and key before (which they changed under the new manager ). The prices are higher side, but it's Sunnyvale and the renting market is crazy. read more

For the most part, I love everything about Tamarind Square. We moved into a townhouse almost 18 months ago and I have very few complaints. The grounds and common areas are beautiful and well maintained. The apartment is roomy and it's nice to have a washer / dryer in the apartment as well as central heat and AC. Finally, maintenance crew is the absolute best! They are always fast, friendly, and very courteous - even taking off their shoes before coming in so they don't mess up your carpet. Office staff is friendly and very helpful. My only complaint about Tamarind Square has more to do with the corporation that owns them than anyone on site. We've had trouble paying our rent online (and they ask that you don't pay in person) and we had to call after-hour maintainence for a leak and found the number listed on the site was discontinued. The apartments are a little pricey - but well worth it. read more

This is a wonderful apartment complex. It is on the expensive side but worth it in my opinion. It is certainly one of the quietest places I have lived. I can very rarely hear my neighbors, although I live on the top floor right above the community room which is usually empty and has to be vacated by 10 pm anyway so that probably helps. Dogs are allowed so you hear the occasional barking and sometimes people in the pool but it's not bad at all. One thing about the 2-bedroom townhouse is both bathrooms are upstairs, which is kind of inconvenient in my opinion. Also my apartment is on the very back side of the complex and there is a factory next to it so if you have the windows open on that side it can get kind of noisy. But overall it's a good place. Staff and maintenance are both good, parking is fine (one free covered, assigned spot but not underground; other first-come/first-serve spots). They also recently banned smoking from the entire complex (even inside units) which is wonderful. read more

Tamarind was the first apartment I've lived in since my college days and I can say that this place was a cut above any other place I visited prior to moving in. Clean, quiet, and plenty of parking I knew when we toured the place that it was a perfect fit. The staff and the maintenance team are quick and helpful. I remember my first walk through tour, Tess took the time to see multiple units even though we walked in at the end of the day. Another shout out to Tess, we had our covered spot taken assigned to someone else and after a few months she was able to get a spot for us. During my year there we gathered several great memories and at times I miss living there. Unfortunately the price point was at at our upper limit and when it came time to renew our lease, the jump in price was much more than we could accommodate, even with the salary of three young professionals. Otherwise, only complaint I had are from those maple trees that cover your car in sap on a daily basis if you park toward the front entrance. It accumulates and becomes a real nuisance quickly. read more

I just relocated to Sunnyvale from Chicago and have toured alot of places. Although I haven't made my decision yet I am leaning towards Tamarind Square. The staff was extremely helpful and patient with all of my questions and the apartments were very nice. Ive toured many places and the service definately stands out. Most places rushed me through the tour and did not make me feel like they would take care of me if I moved there. I've talked to a few of the people in the area and they gave positive feedback on the community and I can see myself living here too. read more

I stopped by the area trying to narrow down the odds on where would be a potential place and stumbled on this place! A young sweet gorgeous lady by the name of Tess helped me out. She showed me the two bedroom town home to which I fell in love with.. Very spacious and lots of privacy between your neighbors.The gym was small, but the lounge area was at a decent size good for a small party. Once we figure out what me and the Mrs like I'd put this on our list first!! Great place!!! And it looks like they have a great crew doing maintenance! read more

We have lived here for 4 years now and couldn't be happier. The leasing staff is awesome, always ready to help in any way they can, so sweet to our children. While it is on the expensive side as someone else mentioned it's well worth the price. The townhouse we live in is very spacious our kids have lots of room to run around. There's an island in the kitchen, huge walk in closets in each bedroom. Washer/dryer, air conditioning, heat etc. When we moved in everything looked brand new. Since the appliances are new/energy savers our utilities bill is always reasonable which was a surprise because we pretty much run our ac around the clock when it's warm. Any issues that arise are fixed right away, maintenance is always extremely courteous and efficient. There's a heated pool, jacuzzi, and the gym is open 24 hours. There are dogs who bark occasionally but it's never bothersome. Nights are quiet we've never had any noise problems with neighbors being loud or otherwise. The location is very convenient right around the corner from 101 and 237. I love the fact that the entire complex is smoke free because early on every time we'd walk to the parking lot we'd have to walk thru someone's cloud of smoke. Parking is never a problem, you're assigned a space and can use all the uncovered for a second car/visitors. It would have been nice to have one of the bathrooms downstairs but we're used to it now, no big deal. We've never heard anyone thru the walls but obviously they are set up apt style so you do hear thumps on occasion if you're living in one of the bottom units but that is to be expected as with any stacked units. Honestly, I don't have anything negative to say. It's a small community where everyone knows the staff and the neighbors are friendly. Love living here and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. read more
