This place I stopped in at after an appointment in the area just to grab coffee and a snack. I ended up getting the "Turbo" vanilla latte and an oatmeal raisin cookie. The latte was super flavourful and rich tasting - not necessarily vanilla-y but good none the less. The cookie was super good but a little pricey. The inside of this place had good music and design. I'm not sure if this is exactly attributed to management but someone was inside without a mask, and when they approached the people working they also pulled down their masks to talk to her. This was rather weird and kind of uncomfortable but didn't take away too much from my experience because I am vaccinated. Overall good coffee and cookie, prices could be a little more decent for the food items (or at least more variants), and wish that little mask interaction didn't happen. read more

After moving to Burlington about five years ago, Tamp was my go to coffee stop. Obviously there are other downtown options but they seemed to have the best coffee. I was willing to pay the higher prices for the quality. Nowadays, I avoid them altogether. Got tired of slow, unhappy servers and management that didn't seem at all concerned about Covid protocols. Cute little coffee spot with outdoor space out front. One had a latte and a chocolate biscotti- said both were okay. I ordered a large English breakfast tea; gave me 1/2 cup of hot water. When I asked server for more hot water, he seemed put out. Also, 1 tea bag in a large only provided a very weak, tasteless cuppa tea - disappointing. Will be passing on coffee here in future based on the attitude from staff. This is not the kind of place you go to for hospitality. Everyone is miserable, humourless and disapproving here. Grabbed coffee this morning and my husband and myself were the only ones in the shop wearing masks, including the staff. Tamp coffee makes a really great cold brew! It's super rich and flavourful and not at all watered down. The Americano is a little meh, but the drip coffees are all great. My husband and I stop here all the time and we really want to support local, but recently since the pandemic we've been on 3 separate occasions where there is no hand sanitizer at all and none of the other patrons seem to be wearing masks. We'll be skipping Tamp until more enforcements can be put in place. read more

Came here a few times in 2015 and I really enjoyed the Iced Hot Chocolates. The service was great back then and that's continued into 2017. It's a really hipster-esque place, lots and lots of reclaimed wood and sliced trunks, I personally love the decor. Today we got here on a sunny 14C day in February, forgot it wasn't summer to be honest. We wanted iced mochas and lattes, but their ice machines hadn't be turned on. So I got a Caramel Latte instead, which was great despite being hot on a warm day, luckily they have lots of cold water available. The coffee here is some of the best coffee I've had in the GTA, except downtown Toronto, of which I haven't explored enough to say. They also offer coconut, soy and almond milk. Tamp Coffee Co takes their coffee seriously. A good cup of coffee whether it is a pour over or a macchiato all brewed and prepared with care. I don't know what to expect when I walked inside Tamp Coffee as friendly barista greeted us and even advice us on which drink to get. Even worried I won't enjoy my cortado since it might be too strong for me... The set up is cozy and inviting! On this glorious summer afternoon, there is a choice of front porch, back patio and of course the main area with a large communal table or lounge like seating accented by cushions. One of the best coffee in the GTA. Whenever I visit Burlington, I make a stop here for a coffee. Their espressos, long black and Americano are great. If their espresso is great, it shows that at the base of any drink, it will be good. If I'm staying, I'll get a almond milk cortado. Probably my favorite drink! It's normally busy, but there are enough tables to go chat in small groups or go to work. There is a communal table good for up to 8 people. I find Tamp on the pricier side, however, the coffee is so good, I can't help but go back. read more

3.5 Stars ... the service makes it above average but the drink itself was just ok. Just one street north of Spencer park, you can find this quaint and lovely cafe. It has a lot of seating and many options on the boards for various types of coffee. I liked how there is a lot of wood details in the cafe. From an atmosphere perspective, it is laid back but much more comfortable than any corporate chain like Starbucks. The service here is friendly and plentiful. They were making the drinks quickly and were very friendly to explain the different types. I ended settling on getting a turbo (aka Large) almond mocha coffee. I want to say it was a good drink but there was something amiss from the chocolate used in it. I'm not sure if it is too bitter and grassy for a mocha but there was no richness to the drink. Compared to Rooster, their mocha wasn't overly sweet but had a deep cocoa note. Tamp flavour was mostly grassy and ... waxy? I would be willing to give this place another shot... maybe? Perhaps a flat white instead. But there's another place right along North Shore I may try first. read more

Above-average. A Queen West-style hipster coffee shop located in the heart of downtown Burlington. I visited on a weekday afternoon and found the atmosphere clean, laid-back, and quite inviting. Tastefully yet casually decorated, and a great place for a chat or to do some work. First, the parking situation. It's $1.75 per hour if you choose to do street parking in front of the cafe, for a max time of 3 hours. Second, the actual products. They have a pretty extensive menu with a variety of snacks, breakfast items (particularly on weekends), and lots of drink options. I ordered a Zucchini Walnut Muffin and a Flat White. Size of the drink was smaller than average. It tasted fine, and wasn't so over-roasted that it left a bad aftertaste. However, it didn't have as much depth as other espresso-based drinks I've had, and ended up being a bit plain to me. However, it was still quite delicious and pleasant enough. The muffin was very moist and delicious, and I'll definitely be back to try out the rest of their baked goods (I was told they're all made in house). The atmosphere, product quality, and variety of drinks makes this place a solid 4 stars. Service was a little apathetic and disinterested; they spent more time on their phones than on focusing on customers. The staff here emit arrogant attitudes every time I am in, whether it be the Brant Street or Village Square location. It wouldn't kill them to smile. Also, no masks or hand sanitizer? Seems like safety isn't a priority for them. I had accidentally grabbed an extra plastic lid for my iced latte and put it in my tray because I had already touched it. The barista pointed this out and I explained why I kept it in my tray, and she responded rudely, "you can recycle it," presuming that I wouldn't. They have a great selection of specialty coffees and teas and even smoothies! Good selection of goodies too. I came there on a Saturday afternoon and it was 3-hours of free parking while other lots were a $10 flat-rate during ribfest. I really liked this place! It's nicer than average, non-pretentious, AND there is shaded, outdoor seating both at the front and back of café. Male barista was very nice. Overall very chill place on Pine Street. Bonus: You don't need to learn a whole other lingo in order to order here! Americano was good and so was the Pecan Square ($3.55 tho). Not sure if they have wifi or not, you'll hafta ask. I love exploring Burlington on the weekends (when the parking is free!) I have visited Tamp Coffee a few times, especially since there are two locations. This location seems to have more treats to choose from every time I go! Staff are friendly and informative - I always ask about milk alternatives and about the barista's favourite drink to recommend. This time I opted to try out a matcha iced latte. I was a little taken aback when I received my drink, as there were little green pieces floating around in my drink - they kind of tasted minty!? But honestly, it was one of the most interesting drinks I have tasted in so long. I loved it! My fiance chose a normal iced coffee, which was also very tasty and they coffee was not bitter at all. There is a decent amount of seating at Tamp Coffee, well there is some more outside but this day wasn't particularly warm so we just opted to go back to our car and drink our drinks there. The treats that day were also more really jumping out at me, so I did not get a snack. Next time I hope they have something a little more appealing! The decor and details are nice - wood, metals, rustic type feeling. A little bit hipster, but what coffee joint isn't these days? I found this place on Instagram and was drawn in through the latte art. Not many places do that, so I'm always happy to find a place that does. I went over the next day with my boyfriend to check it out and it didn't disappoint. It's a small little place with simple, but cool decor. The guy working (the owner, I assume?) was friendly and was telling us about the place and what not. I went for a latte and my boyfriend went for a hand pour coffee and a biscotti. I came to this coffee place in summer and now in winter. The atmosphere is nice but I can see a significant difference between two services I received. The staff this time were not friendly and maybe not even polite. They were busy, I can understand that but not as busy as any other place or abnormally. Interestingly, we were told that they can not heat up the croissant or scones because the oven consumes too much energy and not worth turning it on. They also don't have a microwave! So, if you plan to buy anything rather than coffee or cakes, aware that it is going to be as good as what you can find in grocery stores. Plus, they don't have mugs for large coffees. Went here this weekend for a coffee meeting. A very relaxed environment with some absolutely DELICIOUS coffee and -THE- best Oatmeal raisin cookie I;ve ever had in my entire life. It's in a cute area off of Lakeshore in Burlington, and definitely seems like you're meant to pop in while shopping or walking about and then pop right back out. Small spot with 3 lounge seats 2 tables for 3 and then a row of bar stools and 2 off-set bar stools. rather tight for my liking but it was comfortable enough. The Mocha Latte was fabulous, and that Oatmeal cookie (which I got on accident, because I wanted a nibble and just got it to be nice since the cashier suggested it)..that Oatmeal cookie was large and chewy, but just crispy enough and sweet but not sugary and just amazing. This place is exactly what was needed in this area. I got a Carmel latte and it was wonderful and they even did the design in the foam! It's worth the Starbucks price but so much better!! They also have gluten free pastries and treats which is awesome when you have an allergy like I do. My only complaint is it is so small but it wasn't super busy and was rather cozy.
