I'm writing this review after Tampa Bay Septic finished the install of my new septic tank and drain field today . If you have been through this process before it can be a daunting and expensive task . When my system failed in January I knew it wasn't to be an easy task. TBS was not my first call but when Kris showed up to do the estimate I felt a sense of compassion for my situation and professionalism that the job would be done correctly. As well the estimate was fair and the process was well explained. Next I dealt with David in the office. [[HIGHLIGHT]]David was helpful in lining up the appointments for pump out, installation, and final recovering of the new system after final inspection.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Next Jesse and Dustin showed up to do the installation which was a long process. Both did the job with skill and professionalism and answered all of my questions. They managed to get the job done with only minor casualties on my shrubs. I was impressed. Finally at the end of the Process Jake came out to grade the job site, clean up all debris and reseed the area. He did a great job. As stated this is a daunting job for anyone who hasn't been through it but this team from the owner on down made the process easier for me to understand while delivering exactly what they promised and leaving me a happy and satisfied customer. Don't use this Company! Bad Experience! Stay away! I had been a loyal customer of Tampa Bay Septic for years and was generally satisfied with their service--until recently. About four years ago, they replaced my lift station pump. Last week, the pump stopped working, so I called them out for service. The technician was polite and professional, and he explained that the float valve to the pump wasn't working and needed replacement. He also noted that there was no float valve on the alarm. I know there was one before, but apparently it was never reinstalled when they replaced the pump previously. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I contacted the office, I expected them to correct this oversight at no cost. Instead, they refused, insisted on charging me, and handled the situation rudely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]While the tech did his job well, the office staff was dismissive and unhelpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion of the company. read more

We were looking to buy a home in the Tampa area and we were working on a short time frame. A major deciding factor of the purchase was the condition of the septic tank. We called Tampa Bay Septic and they were able to send someone out the next day to perform the inspection. Luckily the septic tank was in good working condition and our purchase went through. About a month after moving in we noticed a bad smell coming from the general area of the septic tank. We called Tampa Bay Septic to see if maybe there was an issue that came up during the inspection. The boss came out to check out the situation himself and assured us the smell is not a septic issue. That gave us peace of mind and pointed us in the right direction to find the cause of the smell. read more

On November 19, 2021, we had our drain field replaced by Tampa Bay Septic; they were honest and told us that our underground sprinklers system will be severely damaged and cannot be responsible for any repairs or replacement. I liked that Tampa Bay was honest and made us aware of this before signing the contract. Tampa Bay Septic completed the replacement of the Drain Field and was very professional with the service they provided. The only concern I do have their pump truck was not working and they were not able to pump out my septic tank before the Drain Field replacement. On November 19, 2022, I will call them back out for a Septic Tank Inspection and verify that the Drain Filed is properly working per the contract agreement. Cheryl the owner is rude and condescending and leaves you with a broke main water pipe and no water to your house for 2 days and then she shows after the damage is done to tell me - not there problem when I watched the pipe being ripped out of the ground and break. Carelessness and not concerned with a customer when their backhoe just ripped my water system apart. Cheryl basically called me a liar. Her workers are great I don't know how they can work with her. Just plain NASTY!!!! This is just my first stop at letting everyone know they they reduced me to tears and abandoned me! BBB will be notified as well as My commissioner Ken Hagen! I was told that someone would come out to look at my drainfield tomorrow. 1/29/25.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I received a text. at 12:25 stating that they would be at my house in approximately 45 minutes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I call an hour later at 1:30 PM to check in with them to see if maybe someone had got lost. I was then told that they had been to my house. Inspected my drainfield.and was going to get sent a quote in my email[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told them that no one has been to my house and they proceeded to argue with me and say yes someone has they've marked it off as being at my house.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] i then stated that I have 16 security cameras all the way around my house and that no one had been here. No Communication, Took 6 Months Similar to the other review here we contracted TBS on Nov 1, 2021 and then did not hear from them for 3 months, the only time they returned a call was when I sent them an email suggesting we should cancel and go to another company. They said it was the health department delay, but when the health department came out they said they got the order 2 weeks before. They dug straight through our chestnut tree roots, and the large 50+ year old tree may not survive and it may cost us $3000+ to have it cleared out. They do not communicate with you at any time during the install, randomly showing up to do work and then gone for weeks. When I told them to let us know when they would be there they showed up randomly and could not get in the gate as I was on a plane for work. They broke the pipe for the RV space and did not repair it right away. The yard has basically been destroyed, deep ruts everywhere, I am going to have to spend $1000 to rent a grader and purchase fill dirt to try and repair it. On top of that the tank they put is was not properly installed and is not level and may not pass inspection, which is obviously why they wanted their money before the final inspection which I have had to call the county for. If we do not pass a final inspection we may have to take legal action against them. This is the LAST company you want to contract to have do work on your septic. Additional Info after TBS response: Well first let's address the gate, I work from home and it was open when your people randomly showed up. The time it was not open was just a few days after I called to complain that you do not communicate with us, then surprise you show up at random and try to call to have the gate opened. I recently had a different septic company company come out to review the next step and they could not believe the state of the system, the main tank is leaning 5 degrees and the lid was not on solidly and rain water is going into it. This new company said they also would never have just left the alarm cables out on the ground. Also the drain pipe for the RV was fixed only AFTER I emailed to complain that no one had been there to fix it and we had to drag hoses from the RV where I had fallen into the hole left there and hurt my back. So to say I never complained is also not true. 95% of the communication I had to start. We recently had an electric company and an A/C company come out, all of which sent us messages the day before and the day of to confirm service, far superior to the random times your crew showed up. Just got info back from my new septic company and they said it takes about 3 weeks to get the permits not 3 months. I would go on but you get my point. read more

UPDATED: July 23th! My original review reflected my frustration because the work had not begun on the original timeline and we had not had any updates explaining the delay. However, after my review went up, Chris contacted both my husband and myself personally and explained that the work had not begun as scheduled because he and his wife both had been struck by COVID, pushing back their work schedule by several weeks. He assured me that they would begin work on our project the week of July 19-23. After speaking with Chris, I felt reassured and much more confident about our project going forward. It was not necessary to do any chargeback on our credit card or anything, as I had feared. His team came out as scheduled and not only completed the work they had promised, they went above and beyond! First, the new drain field was laid out and installed without tearing up our existing driveway, which was important to us and certainly saved us money going forward. Whike the team was there, we had an unrelated issue with our garage door opening and closing, and Chris's team alerted us to this issue and helped us get it taken care of so the door would remained closed and locked as usual. They also went out of their way to take the time to mark our existing sprinkler system with flags when they laid out the new drain field, a professional courtesy that will make it SO much easier for us to get that sprinkler back up and running now that the septic has been concluded, which is very much appreciated. As soon as the work had been completed, Tampa Bay Septic also arranged for a very timely inspection of the new drain field they had put in--I did not expect this inspection to occur until Monday, the 26th, but it has already been completed over the weekend and the septic covered over again (today is the 24th). Now that the work has been completed, I can see that the professionalism and quality of the service they provide was well worth the money we spent. Thanks to Chris and Stormy and their team for responding to our complaint in a professional and courteous manner and doing everything in their power in the end to ensure that we were satisfied customers. We were having septic issues for awhile and per recommendation of a friend contacted Tampa Bay Septic for a quote. Kris came out that same day, diagnosed the problem and recommended replacing the drain lines. I guess after 24 years it was about time! He provided a fair quote and considering we were in the middle of a pandemic the team stayed on top of the permit process and coordinated all activities. Whenever I had questions, Stormy provided an immediate response or would call me back as soon as she could. Kris was onsite most of the time, did a lot fo the excavation work and even went above and beyond helping us with replanting some trees that had to be moved as a result of the excavation. Dustin and Jake who also helped with the excavation were very professional and knowlegeable when respoding to all my annoying questions. The health inspection took place on Friday 1/28/22 and passed with flying colors. As I stated previously, all is good on our end.
