In November 2025, a technician attempted to clear a clogged sink drain in our guest bathroom but was unsuccessful, stating nothing more could be done. Her only solution was an expensive main drain descaling/jetting service quote for $1,500 to $1,700+. Six months later, we hired a second plumbing company. They successfully cleared the blockage for just $175 using a standard drain snake--the exact same tool GOAT's technician used unsuccessfully. The costly $1,500+ jetting service recommended by GOAT would have been completely unnecessary. 2. Our total bill came to $533. Because the total was processed on a credit card without an upfront cost breakdown, we assumed the fee was primarily for the drain attempt. When I later checked the itemized receipt, I was shocked to find: * $83 for the unsuccessful attempt to clear the sink drain. * $450 in labor/fees to replace a toilet flush valve for a minor leak--an $18 part at Lowe's. Had we been quoted $450 upfront to replace a flush valve, we would have declined immediately. 3. I emailed the owner directly to detail our experience and give them a chance to address these concerns but received no reply. Flow Pro later returned to correct the issue, and the installation passed final inspection on the third attempt. By 6pm we had a fully new unit, clean, dry, working. So obviously I haven't seen my husband for a "hot" minute as he's "testing" the shower water but we both expect to see Jose on Tuesday to install the water softener we had been wanting. All joking aside Jose was timely, knowledgeable, cost efficient, fast, respectful and self sufficient. He was easy to understand and communicated very well (we non plumbers could easily grasp his point). In these days of COVID he also was extremely careful about not touching anything in our homes and wore several different pairs of gloves. The A/C in my condo quit working at one of the worst possible times, when the temp was in the 90's,…read morethe property was sold, subject to inspection, and the property inspector reported to the buyers that the A/C wasn't working! I looked online and found several A/C providers, and selected Air Express because they had excellent online ratings, their facility was located only a few miles from the condo, and on-line scheduling was available. I scheduled an appointment at a convenient time, and received a text that my appointment was confirmed. I'd scheduled a 10:00 AM appointment but the confirmation text clearly explained that the appointment was actually a "window" of time, and the technician would arrive between 8:00 AM and 12:00 noon. I get it. Unless you're the first morning appointment, it's impossible to know how long a repair will take because the technician won't know what repairs are required until they start working on the system. A repair might be as simple as resetting the thermostat, or as lengthy as removing an ant colony from the outside unit. (I know, this happened to me) I received a second text the day before the appointment as a reminder, and a third text the day of the appointment informing me the technician was on the way, his name was Braxton with a recent photo. Cool idea! The technician arrived shortly (within an hour of my preferred appointment time, and also within the "window" of time specified) and listened to my description of the concern. I asked if he'd mind if I watched over his shoulder, and he replied that was OK if I was open to learning about A/C systems. I enjoy learning, so that was OK with me. Braxton got his tools and gages, diagnosed the problem and gave me three different repair options. To his credit, he did not give me Option #4, which WAS a good option, which was "replace the whole system" . There was absolutely NO "upsell" pressure. I selected a repair option, and Braxton replaced the failed parts, rechecked the system to make sure it was working correctly, cleaned up, accepted payment by credit card, and emailed me an invoice and pics. Later that day I received another text thanking me for my business and asking if I could complete a (SURPRISE!) survey. I don't do Google or Facebook surveys because of privacy concerns, but I replied that I often do Yelp surveys, and would be happy to do one for them. I WAS surprised that there were so few Yelp surveys, but I was happy to add a few comments.
