Highly recommend North Point Dental. Dr. Tindell is truly awesome. He listens, explains everything…read moreclearly, and genuinely looks out for what's best for the patient. Completely pain free and stress free experience. The staff goes way above and beyond any dental office I've ever been to. From the moment you walk in, everyone talks with you, checks on you, and makes you feel like you've been a patient there for 25 years. It's that rare kind of personal care you don't see much anymore. Real Tampa people providing outstanding service, and you even leave with a chocolate chip cookie. Doesn't get better than that. If you're looking for a dentist who actually cares, this is the place.

Hygienist staff are truly amazing, attention to detail, very attentive to patients questions and needs, always looking out for what is in patients best interest while considering dental health and cosmetic concerns. Then, the doctors (Tindell, Kanter, Pross, Friedman, or Lu) always do a thorough head, neck, and oral exam after the cleaning procedure. The doctors, hygienists, and assistants are all professionals who have a compassionate approach to their dental practice and interaction with the patients they serve! What a breath of fresh air! My family had been served by North Pointe Dental for 32 years and the experience is always exceptional! Truly the best in the Tampa area!

It's unfortunate that I have to write this review. I have excellent Medicare Aetna PPO dental…read moreinsurance, but this dentist seemed more interested in maximizing what they could bill than in providing care. Although my insurance approved the deep cleaning they claimed I urgently needed, the office refused to begin treatment without "written authorization." My insurance then requested the X-rays the dentist had taken, yet two weeks later the insurance company still hadn't received them. The dentist also insisted I needed an additional antibiotic treatment, which they said wasn't covered and would cost me nearly $1,000 out of pocket. When I called Aetna directly, I was told my treatment is covered at 100%. Clearly, the information I was being given in the office didn't match what my insurance confirmed. To make matters worse, they even denied me a standard cleaning, saying I "wasn't a candidate." No dentist should refuse a basic cleaning--this was simply a way to push more expensive procedures and bill against my $2,500 annual insurance allowance. My advice: Always call your insurance before agreeing to treatment or paying anything. Ask your insurance company to review the treatment codes the dentist provides. I did this and was able to get my teeth and gums cleaned elsewhere right away, fully covered. Be cautious--this office put profits before patients.
