The "We Don't Do Sales" Mall…read more Yesterday was Mother Daughter Day and after not seeing my mother for over 30 days I wanted to give her a proper Tampa day. The bay, the walkways, some shopping, and a stop at Columbia Restaurant which honestly was not good. Then we went to International Plaza and Bay Street thinking we would do what we always do. Browse, hunt, and find something great on sale. That is how WE shop. We walked into Altar'd State and asked where the sale section was. We were told they do not do sales there. Not even a small rack in the back. .. thought maybe it's just that store Then we went into Dillard's and asked the same question. The woman looked us up and down like we had three heads and gave us the same answer. Finally I made the realization . . This mall is built for people who pay full price and do not question it. To be fair, it is beautiful. Clean, polished, very well put together. A strong mix of stores and a surprising number of high end brands. Completely different than what I expected and it threw me off my game. But there is no thrill here. No hunt. No digging. No moment where you find that one piece that makes the whole trip worth it. Have fun shopping at full price here. I am not one of those people. I do not pay full retail ever and I am not starting now. And I know plenty of wealthy people who can afford to pay full price and they will not do it either. They know better.

It's been a while since I've been here and they definitely have a wide variety of stores. We did stop by and see the Easter bunny. The staff was super nice. They were doing a little dances and keeping the kids entertained. Also, we did find the coffee shop called E bar near Nordstrom. Which was pretty good actually. For lunch, we did stop at the food court, but I wouldn't eat there again. The food was terrible at wok o holic. There is better food outside the food court.

Found this place after doing some Yelp and TikTok research once I landed in Tampa and boy am I glad…read moreI found it! This place was absolutely stunning. We walked in on what I think was the back side, and welcoming us was the cutest book store. We browsed around before walking through and seeing the courtyard area and maybe a candle bar and another area that had gorgeous decor near the hostess area. There was also the chicest Champagne Bar, which is perfect for Instagram photos for the photogenic people while you wait. We didn't have reservations, but the wait was only 30 mins or so, so we walked to the University's campus across the street, which was interesting too, but that's for another post. I received a text once my table was ready. I ordered the breakfast taco's and substituted the meat for grilled chicken. My friend ordered the Simply Breakfast Sandwich and substituted grilled chicken, too. The tacos were enormous. They were enough to keep me full the rest of the day. (Maybe it was all the protein). When I say everything was delicious and seasoned to perfection, you didn't need an ounce of additional seasoning. The crispy potatoes were some of the best potatoes I've had as well. I wanted the cinnamon, which was on a special menu for that day, but opted not to get it since my waistline expands at the thought of food! You also have to know that I didn't stop eating there though because I'm a foodie! Lol. Most of the people there were dressed Friday business casual and/or chic. I was fresh off the plane from an early morning flight, but felt comfortable in my attire. Back to this food though...I will definitely be back to Oxford Exchange to try more of the menu when I'm in the area. I overheard the people at the table next to me talking about how good their food was, too! So if you're in the area, don't think twice about going, just go.

Definitely made me want to sample more of their options and Im normally a coffee only person. Orange Mocha Drink from the coffee bar : 4 of 5 Im unsure of the name for this drink as I didn't have a picture, but the drink wasn't mixed as well as I would have liked, making it taste a bit artificial. Glad I tried it cause it reminded me of the chocolate orange candy, but would get something else next time. Service was great at both the tea and coffee bar. However, the coffee bar was a highlight, since either I didn't hear my name called in the loud space or it didn't get called. But my drink did get cold, since I did know it was mine and they made me another without question. I greatly appreciated it. Very elegant and unique place to explore with good drinks and fun things to buy.
