OMFG!!! I am so livid right now!! My family has been coming here for years ever since they opened. A local Vietnamese pharmacy that can communicate with my Ama for her health concerns and needs was a total bonus! However, today will be the last time that I will step foot into this place. There are a million pharmacies in Orange County, so there is no reason for me to return to this place. Because we've been coming here for so many years, you think that she would be an understanding and compassionate pharmacist. We thought that she was, until today's event that has burned all bridges. I am boycotting Tan Binh Pharmacy! What happened?!? I came here to drop off my dad's medication since he just had surgery, but was told that his insurance doesn't cover the brand named drugs. That is fine, but she returned the prescription to me (knowing that I will probably return) and told me to call the doctor. She could have easily called the doctor on my dad's behalf since she will need the vertification from the doctor anyways. Aren't pharmacists supposed to communicate with doctors in a language filled with jargon that the average non-medical person would not know? Anyways, I told my dad, so he called the doctor's office and then called her back. The results were unclear because my dad told me to go back to the pharmacy and have her fax the prescription to the doctor and the generic brands. I called the doctor's office and the receptionist told me that the doctor was not going to be in for a couple of hours and to have the pharmacy just fax names that the doctor prescribed and the generic brands. My last call ever to Tan Binh was to explain the situation, but I couldn't even finish explaining before she told me that her explanation was already given to my dad and she wanted to talk to him instead. WTF? Twice, she repeated that she wanted to speak to my dad instead of me who is the person taking care of the situation and was trying to explain to her what the doctor's receptionist had told me. But she refused to listen to what I had to say. Then she just ended the conversation with "Just tell the doctor to write a new prescription for a generic brand. Just tell him, he should know. I told you that I already explained to your dad and so yeah, ok?" and hung up the phone. How does your previous explanation with my dad, who happens to be in pain and in bed, solve the situation in anyway? I don't think I am asking too much when all I wanted her to do was just fax/email the generic brands to my doctor, but she wouldn't even let me finish what I called to say. THANK GOODNESS for CVS Pharmacy!! It took less than 5 minutes for them to look up the drugs and send it out to the doctor. Now, I just need to find my Ama a new local Vietnamese or Chinese Pharmacy. Any suggestions would be helpful since my family will not be returning to Tan Binh Pharmacy. Ugh. Yuck. read more

I LOVE THIS PHARMACY! ESPECIALLY THE STAFFS! THEY'RE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL!! a couple of days ago I told my mom to go to TAN BINH PHARMACY to pick up my refills because I needed more medications. She went and picked up the medications, but one of the medication wasn't fully covered by my insurance. My mom didn't understand what was happening because usually that medication is covered by insurance. So one of the friendly staff searched on the computer, and explained everything very thoroughly so that my mom would understand. After everything was cleared, my mom was very satisfy and covered the portion that insurance couldn't cover. Some of the other pharmacy that I've been to in ORANGE COUNTY.. wouldn't be so kind and explain why patients have to pay such and such.. they'll just tell the patients to pay without any explanations. Family owned pharmacy! Very friendly workers! I had trouble with my insurance. They worked on getting my insurance approved for abt 30mins. They made sure I was satisfied. They didn't give me attitude when they were having trouble with my insurance. They had a lot of patience and it showed me they really care abt me as a person and not just my business. I've been going here for years. The staffs are not only friendly and helpful, but they're also very knowledgeable and informative from medication to supplements. If they didn't have the answer for me right away, they were very resourceful to go finding it for me. Most places in Orange County just want to make money and forget about the customers, they don't go over and beyond to help the customer out, that's just bad business, because if you provide awesome customer service you get repeat business. Was tired of filling my prescription at Costco/Walgreens so gave Tan Binh a call to see if they carry my mom's meds and if they are in stock. I called them around 4pm during a weekday and the lady answered for rudely, NO, and hung up! Not sure if it's just an off day for them, but I'm not sure why they have so many positive reviews?? I was referred to Tan Binh Pharmacy by a recommendation of a friend, so I had my doctor fax the prescription over for pick up. I headed straight to Tan Binh after my appointment and surprisingly my prescription was ready when I got there, which was about 10 minutes after I left my DR's office. Mr. BOB VU was helping me, but for some reason was unable to process my transaction at first due to some issue with my insurance carrier. He had me sit tight and called my insurance company and within a few minutes he cleared up whatever the problem was and I was on my way. Mr. VU provided great service and was very knowledgable while explaining the dosages instructions. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone seeking a local family Pharmacy. read more
