I'm so disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with how the spray rN came out. The girl was a twit and had no clue how to even turn the machines on. I followed step by step instructions from her and the picture on the wall. I don't think the machine was properly cleaned. There's no way, it was like an old spray can that was clogged. I now look like a paint by number with all the dots and super splotchy. I'm so embarrassed. I was supposed to be getting married and now have to put it off due to this. I wish I could add pictures. But I will somewhere. DO NO DO THE SPRAY TAN OR DEAL WITH THE YOUNG COKE BOTTLE GLASS WEARING TWIT. on top of the horrible experience, I was also refused a refund. This place is hands down the worst Tan Republic locations. The customer service is the horrible. They don't care about anything. You can tell the employees don't like working there. They are just going through the motions of work. If you request a bed and it's open you get an eye roll and a goff. If the bed need to be cleaned and you request it, they act like it's the end of the world to clean it. Even if it's open they you still get attitude because they have to switch the times on the beds. Once your done they ignore unless you say something. They just don't care about anything. This is a customer service-based tanning salon. And I know that it is choice for the customers to use these services but you're paying a lot of money for salon services. With any choice of a salon service wouldn't you expect from the people who are serving to show you the same respect? read more

This Albany location is absolutely the worst rip off and the rudest people I've ever dealt with ! I have been with them since they opened in Albany . They sold me a bottle of lotion for $150 and said it was the best lotion there was to get the darkest fastest . Well I tried it once and it's stained all my clothes and left white Rings where my sandals were , it was like a self tan lotion from Walmart . I paid $1,200 this year just to keep my membership open and didn't go in one time and have been fighting with him for a year about this lotion and they keep telling me you have to email the management . I tried emailing all throughout the year and got nothing no response back . I was pissed and still am . Then they didn't tell me that I had to pay to start tanning again I thought that's what the $10 a month was for . They make millions of dollars you would think they wouldn't dispute exchanging a bottle of lotion for me I didn't even want my money back . So I brought it up again to the girl who was working yesterday and she told me well yes there is an on-site manager but she doesn't work here anymore after she told me there was no one there I could talk to you about it . So I went in today to tan and they flipping canceled my membership because I complained about the lotion ! Then when I asked when my money would be refunded to my card they said I can't tell you that you'll have to email the manager which I tried doing for a year and got no response ! So I don't even know when my money will be refunded they're Liars they're ripoffs ! Do not go there ! And the girl that was working today that told me my membership was canceled was the on-site manager that the girl that yesterday told me didn't work there anymore ! read more

This place is so great! I live in Corvallis but got a Groupon for this location and have been coming over for spray tans. It was a long while since I'd had one and the gal working did an amazing job explaining it to me and getting me setup! Fast forward to a SUPER busy Sunday evening and the attendant, Madison was really hustling with a line out the door and was the only person on shift. Even though she was rushing around she was doing an amazing job of being friendly and greeting everyone! I'm so glad I discovered this branch of Tan Republic and you all should be super proud of your employees that make this a great experience even when it's super busy. read more

Though pricey compared to other offerings in the area, the hours, beds and cleanliness make this premium worthwhile. I have mostly positive impressions, I was surprised with a free unexpected upgrade on my birthday, and reception staff has generally been friendly and competent with a couple of exceptions. I don't care for the fact that individual tans you buy expire after one year. Also on my initial visit to this business I was extremely clear about what I was seeking, conveyed this to the rep, but she was relentless in telling me I needed an unlimited monthly membership I didn't want. I left that day repocketing the hundreds of dollars I had every intent of handling over. I returned for the beds and hours. I didn't use 1/3 of the tans I bought the first year, so asked reception if they could work with me on a new package or if I could speak with management. She referred me to email management, but stated it was policy that no name could be given to me for whom I would be working with. I've corresponded with "management" and still have never received a name of the manager I've dealt with though I asked for it, but they asked me for my name and DOB. "Management" did, however, credit me the tans for this year which I appreciate. Today a bed bulb and one of the four facial bulbs was out on the bed I was assigned. The receptionist when I exited expressed they'd had a technician working on it, so a known issue. I asked for an upgrade to be put on my account for the uneven tan, and she was hesitant. I decided instead to email "management" to request personally. "Management" advised me that beds do have issues especially during the busy season, but did provide the credit. I feel it's pretty obvious to state to me that issues can occur, an apology would have been better received. I've never had to wait for a bed no matter when I've come. All things considered, I would definitely recommend this Albany Tan Republic for the generally consistent quality service and product provided. read more

My girlfriend has been going here a majority of the past decade and has seen it go downhill. It used to be worth the money but now the employees are rude and don't seem to care about the customers experiences, they aren't knowledgeable about the spray tan product they use. And multiple employees told her completely different instructions on after care of spray tans. There are piles of dirt behind the doors in the rooms which indicates poor housekeeping which also leads one to wonder if the beds are being properly and thoroughly cleaned. read more

I started tanning at the Salem Tan Republic and had a good experience there. However when I quit working in Salem and started tanning in Albany I was far from impressed. Some of the girls who work there are friendly but the majority are very impersonal with little or no personality. Their employees are also very pushy when it comes to purchasing products like tanning lotion. From the research I have done, when comparing Tan Republic to other tanning salons in the Albany area, Tan Republic is very overpriced. One example of this is their signup fee of one hundred dollars which no other salon requires. I would not recommend Tan Republic to anyone. read more

I hadn't been tanning in years so I went to TR to get my skin glowing before tank top weather. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! The selection of monthly packages is great too! Been a customer for the past 2 years, I like to tan prior to my Hawai'i trips and have been considering getting a year round package to maintain through the year. My experience today was the worst I've had and it nothing to do with the staff who have always been very pleasant and helpful. My issue today was the choice by management to install a music system that can neither be turned down or off. Apparently you're stuck with whatever is on at a very loud level. Not very relaxing, makes me not want to go back. Once my prepaid package is gone I'll be seeking another vendor. read more

This particular tanning salon offers a wider variety of beds, lotions, and various tanning accessories than any other salon I've been to. I first went in to inquire about prices, and was very impressed with the warm welcome I received from the woman behind the counter. She gladly went out of her way to explain what types of beds they have, and how they affect your skin differently. She also explained how the monthly packages work, which are WAY cheaper than anywhere I've been. I bought a "Gold Package", which is a month of unlimited tanning in an Ergoline bed, and it was only $45! That is pretty cheap. They do require that you bring your own tanning goggles, and if you do not own a pair, they sell them for $5. They want you to have your own to avoid spreading disease, which is respectable. Tan Republic also sells a variety of lotions, for those just starting out to Snooki level. As I mentioned, the girl that helped was very friendly and helpful, she told me everything I needed to know. The next time I went in, a different girl was working and was also very friendly. You can also do walk-ins, no appointment necessary! The beds are very clean, and the rooms are secure and private, which is important for me. They leave towels for you to use and have plenty of room to get undressed, you don't feel crammed! I have not bought a lotion from Tan Republic, but was asked if I needed any, she told me of their current special, but I still declined the offer, I was never pushed into buying. I couldn't tell you if the prices are fair on them. Overall, I have only had pleasant experiences at Tan Republic, and will continue to go back. read more

I've had really good experiences here in the last 3 months with spray tanning. They also upgraded to a new solution. I usually don't opt for "bronze" but the new solution has a more cocoa base than the previous copper or orange tones. My spray tans also have lasted well over a week. I tried the after solution you can opt for after the first drying session and it made it last even longer. It's the best in Albany that I have found. read more
