Both head practices are…read moreterrible, doctors will argue you, schedule you late and be upset you came in, they will hold your heart medicine hostage by not telling you to make an appointment to force you to come in, they are just terrible, had a doctor schedule me for 4:30, be mad that I came in and also get upset when I asked questions, told them I had trouble sleeping, only able to get about 3 hours per night and then go work a 12 hour shift, was told I need to stop screen time, when I said my whole job is screen time from the start of my day to the end of my shift, I was then told I need to read a book, just terrible, lazy practitioners.

When calling Winfield Family Medicine, you are asked to call another number, which I did. A person answered and asked me what facility this was for and then transferred me to a voice mail. I paid my statement in full 6 months ago and I keep getting statements that it is overdue. I sent a copy of a cancelled check to the statement address and I'm still getting overdue statements. There is added frustration that I don't need!

Conversely, if you're having either of those problems please don't visit because it is beyond their realm of expertise. I brought my child here for the very first time for one of their listed conditions and was lectured during the visit. My child had an emergent event and our family doctor recommended a trip to the ER. After we were given a clean test result -- the doctor made assumptions instead of asking pertinent questions and accused me of misusing the healthcare system. Very shocking. Very disappointing and the very opposite of compassion.

Dr. Stepanovic has been caring for my mother and my aunt, both elderly Hobart residents, for the…read morelast 10 years+. And when I say "caring for", I mean it. Not only does Dr. Stepanovic offer good medical care, he offers care. He's kept my mother alive, which is no small achievement. She's now 94. And my aunt has had several cardiac issues, and at 81, she is out and about and still enjoying life. What he offers that very few physicians offers is a level of care. He has tremendous interpersonal skills. He spends time with his patients. He remembers his patients. He takes extra time with his patients, so that they don't feel like the typical managed-care numbers. Another thing that impressed me is his understanding of how the medical-industrial complex works, and how he takes time to make sure his patients aren't swallowed up. When I accompanied my mother to her cardiology appointment this year, I needed some forms from him, because Mom was having another (unrelated) surgery. He sat down, then and there, and completed the forms. He told me, make sure to get his front desk staff to print them out and make a set of copies for me. He said that the surgi-center would surely want a copy of Mom's EKG. He emailed it while I was with him, and then he said, they're probably going to lose it. I'll give you a copy to take with you. (By the way, he was right. The surgery center DID lose the EKG. But because I had a copy with me, Mom's outpatient surgery was able to proceed on schedule.) Do you know how good this guy is? The nurses like him. I've been to the hospital often enough that I know to ask the nurses about the doctors, and boy oh boy, has that been helpful. No one has a bad thing to say about Stepanovic. He treats the surgical staff well, too. I highly recommend Zlatan Stepanovic, MD. I don't know the other physicians in his practice and can't discuss them. I just feel lucky we found this guy.
