My daughter, who is a college student, wanted to have her hair done and pay for it herself for the first time. We was given a quote and went to this salon. However, after the appointment they handed her a bill for double the price (hundreds of dollars). She was very confused, shocked, and upset. Because I wasn't standing right there with her she didn't question it and paid it. I was furious when she told me how heartbroken she was and how much it cost. I emailed the GM & the owners and they have yet to email me back. I feel very disrespected and I feel like my young mixed race daughter was taken advantage of. read more

I WOULD NOT recommend. I was in between stylists and Tangerine Salon was recommended by a co-worker. I could not get in to her stylist so I went with another one who said she's been doing hair for 18 years. Four hours and $400 later I walked out with a a streak of yellow at the bottom of my hair and a shag/fringe haircut that was supposed to have been just a trim and the softening of a line where my ponytail rested. I explained I'm low maintenance in styling my hair and was told it would be an easy two step process which was never shown to me. And the stylist was almost 45 minutes late without any explanation. I hesitated to write any review until I was able to get back into my usual salon today and it was confirmed that I was given a "very strange and botched haircut." I had to cut over two inches off of my hair to make it look somewhat cohesive. The whole experience was not good. read more

My Color & Style specialist was Rachel. Rachel did a very nice job coloring my hair, cutting my hair and blow drying it. So this review is positive about her experience & ability. The only thing that didn't come out right (possibly a communication issue on my part) was that my roots came out too dark (I asked for them to be a little lighter) and there are too many low lights now in my hair. I'm only leaving this information because you need to make it very clear to any stylist, where you want the low light color to go, and how much of it you want throughout your hair. I am confident that we will resolve this issue on my next visit. read more

I have been coming to Tangerine for years because it is close by but their management system is completely garbage. They close the salon or cancel appointments without any notice and when you call to ask, you get sent to a call center and they cannot even forward you directly to the salon. I've also shown up for consultations only to sit down with the stylist and be told Oh actually they don't do those services, you'll have to reschedule with someone else. I take time out of my schedule and work day to come to appointments and am not given the same courtesy. read more

This was my first time visiting, and unfortunately the experience wasn't great. The booking time I was told didn't match the confirmation text, and customer service was lacking. I had to push for an appointment because no options or guidance were offered. During the appointment, the stylist rushed through the haircut, spending less than five minutes actually cutting my hair. I submitted feedback through their form and they offered a free haircut, but the cut I received was so uneven and messy, with strands noticeably longer than the rest that I ended up trimming myself, that it's not worth returning, even for free. read more

I have really never been loyal to any particular stylist for more than a haircut or two but Kelsey T. has changed that! She gave me the best cut of my life last Wednesday. I'm totally obsessed! The other thing that I really appreciate is the fact that I'm getting a Brazilian blowout at a different salon next week (Tangerine doesn't offer them) and Kelsey offered to trim me up for free after that appointment in case the Brazilian changed the way my hair fell. This salon is beautiful, I love all of the good smelling Aveda stuff and Kelsey is beyond talented. I'll be a customer for life! read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, Two different appointments, two different masters, HORRIFIC WORK!! I've asked twice for a phone call, and I get only an email. They refunded my money and asked me to call for a complimentary cut! My hair was completely butchered. I will be living with this for a long time, and they can't even pick up the phone to call me? A refund is not enough!! I even emailed the owners, asked for a phone call, asking for somebody to discuss how we can fix it, and by who? To no avail. Obviously, they don't care about their clients. They can butcher you and just refund you, And it's over for them! Meanwhile...I'll be waking up with this disaster for at least two years to grow out! Fabulous experience with Kelsey! The booking experience was easy---did text then a phone call to schedule. I like the transparency around pricing and expectations, before my visit. I was greeted immediate when I arrived and waited maybe 5 minutes to begin my appointment. The hair wash and head massage was fabulous! I loved my experience with Taylor W. I haven't had bangs since elementary school and it's something that I really wanted to try out. I put my full trust in her and she did amazing. She was really personable and gave great advice and tips. My shampooing and conditioning experience was so relaxing. The front staff ladies were so cute and helpful as well. The salon itself was really busy with tons of people running around but that just shows how successful they are. Overall it was a great experience. I like that their website lists out the different statuses of the stylist so you know roughly what price range you will be in. Since Taylor is a master level, my hair cut was $75. This was after this stylist passive aggressively told the desk girl in the future she would not accommodate this in front of me. I started to leave quietly and she walked after me saying she would "still do it". Sorry I didn't know I was paying for you to make me this uncomfortable and still act like you're doing me a favor. I've had three stylists at Tangerine, of varying levels all who were lovely and provided great service. However, they have been very unprofessional in their cancellations of appointments. Three times, I've had the salon call me to tell me that my appointment was cancelled because the stylist was no longer with them and they couldn't reschedule for days. Today was the third time, and I was notified with only thirty minutes of notice prior to my appointment. I have college graduate pictures tomorrow. I finally got ahold of someone who was sympathetic and understanding of the situation, but I will probably not be going back. read more

She listened to everything I wanted to do and gave my tips on what actually looks good with my type of hair.
