This is always a fun but challenging track. We always enjoy coming out. We all were surprised by the condition of the greens. We play golf every week at various courses around the metroplex and found the greens at Tangle Ridge to be hands-down the worst we have experienced in quite some time. The amount of Poana on the greens made putting difficult as your ball would pinball off the Poana grass. Once the weather warms up, they will be able to solve the Poana problem, but I would not try playing it again until after the middle of June. read more

The golf course was in good shape. There were 3 of us and the course was wide open. Tee time was at 11:30 am and we finished around 2:45 pm

One of my favorite spots to golf in Dallas. Course is nice and challenging. I wish they had more cart service while on the course. Its never too busy, but you can have some waits at holes. But the course is kept in good condition. read more

Great Golf Course, the staff is awesome, the members are super nice and welcoming. It's affordable and flexible for our schedule and the views are amazing. Full practice facilities, a range, short-game area and putting green! Inside the clubhouse they have a golf shop. The grounds, bathrooms, and clubhouse all are immaculate. Love this course, play it a lot. Has a great layout and usually in great shape. But the bad thing about this course is always the pace of play. Today it took us almost 6 hours to play a full round. And we passed by their "Players Assistant" and we mentioned the pace of play and he said "yep, gonna be a slow round today" isn't it his job to help control the pace of play. They did mention something about a scramble tournament but still they should've done better about controlling the pace. read more

We golfed on a day that was extremely hot and the greens had been recently sanded so that was a real bummer. It was a discounted rate but they def should have discounted more. Overall - I gave 3 stars b/c of the poor driving range. It is absolutely the worst range I have ever hit on. While the grass may be good at times, because it is in a valley, it becomes useless when trying to estimate ball travel, roll, etc. I believe the course designers could have spent a little extra time to provide a decent range. Some of the least desirable courses around the metroplex even have decent ranges. Course - Tangle Ridge and Tierra Verde are by far the best courses in the DFW area south of I20. For Tangle Ridge, I love the elevation and rolling hills on several of the holes, particularly on the front nine. It is always a good challenge. Of course, like many public courses, they have at least one hole that shouldn't be: #6 at 313 yards. Visually, it is a very attractive hole. But, many times I play it up as a par 3. Hitting a lay up hybrid then a gap wedge to the green is not very challenging, but attempting to reach the green with a driver is definitely fun. #11 almost falls into the same category at 338 yards, but at least it is a dog leg right 7, 9, 14 and 15 (top handicap holes) are all challenging especially if the wind is up. read more

I'm going to rate it a low star due to the fact of the lady at the "concession stand" The golf course is beautiful but the lady in the clubhouse was pitiful! She was so rude! She said her name was Kim, but she was upset Bc she wanted a bigger tip for her poor attitude! The course is fine and I've played it for years. The problem is you can't depend on having a working driving range when you arrive. I need to hit balls and warm up before playing so this is important to me. The past few months my golf partner and I have scheduled games there about 5 times. The driving range has been closed every time. Even if you call and ask, they will tell you it will be open, but it never is. Today it was closed to mow. Our tee time was after 11:00 am. You'd think they could get it mowed earlier in the morning. Another time the excuse is it's too wet, or they couldn't pick up balls. Bottom line is it's rarely open and the staff couldn't care less. In case you're wondering, no you don't get a discount for not having a driving range. read more

Great golf course with scenic views. Very well kept. The maintenance staff and the restaurant staff are all really friendly but... The Pro Shop staff is not friendly at all. One tiny little misunderstanding about course "rules" become a heated altercation because the pro shop guy was combative. Rather than treating us like customers who chose to play at TR, he assumed the role of dictator and began commanding us around as if we were rebellious teenagers (we're in our 30's and 40's). I'll still play there because it's a great course at a great price. But, I'm hoping feedback like this will help the TR team better care for their customers. read more

I like the course. It's pretty challenging. No one on it. When I went on. Pretty easy to get to from where I live. 67 makes it really convenient access. I found about this course because my Favorite YouTube instructor. Shawn Clements was there last October. It was GREAT I would not have gone because when I called some jack wagon said there was nothing going on and the course was closed! SHAWN FRIGGiN CLEMENTS was there!!!!!! I emailed Mr Clements to tell him I wasn't going to make it. He protested and said he didn't know what I was talking about. He'd been there all weekend. Mr. Clements had already started. No problem. I just wanted to be there. His tour sure beat my going to Richmond Hill Golf Learning Center in Ontario Canada. Look forward to going there again. read more

Pretty solid golf course. This course is a little bit of a drive from Dallas, but is definitely worth the effort. The layout will present a challenge to all skill levels and is appealing to the eye. The par 5's are reachable, and there are a few short par 4's that make it fun to play (go fro the green, or play smart). Make sure you practice some bunker shots, because this course has a lot of sand. Since it's so close to the lake, I would have expected a little more water, but it's still nice. The snack bar is friendly and the staff is helpful. Overall, a nice course that isn't super crowded, and is good for a change of scenery. read more

I'm wrong about the drawback - it's actually a blessing; being off the beaten path helps keep slow play and other public course nonsense down to a minimum. And the course is in spectacular condition for December - greens are super slick and perfect (as are the bunkers, tee boxes, fairways, etc...). read more

This golf course is one of the best values in the DFW area. The course looks better than most courses in DFW and has a bit of that Hill Country feel to it. The greens and fairways were in great condition. My handicap is 15 and at no point in time did I feel unfairly punished for hitting a good shot. I also liked the fact that there are only a few out-of-bounds areas on the course so I didn't get severely punished for my bad shots either. There is very little hidden trouble on this course. Service at the club house and restaurant was very friendly. The restaurant itself is a little pedestrian but if you're in it for the golf, it's totally worth it. I will definitely play there again. read more

This course took us in with no tee time scheduled, when 2 others close to home were booked solid with tournaments on a late wednesday afternoon. The entire staff, all the way from the pro shop to the bar were top notch. This course is definitely not for the faint of heart and I found it much more challenging than Mansfield National. Decent course layout with some elevation changes and hazards on most holes. Poorly managed when it comes to pace and course load though. Each of the last three times I have played here have been 5 1/2+ hour rounds due to being behind large groups (5-6) players and slow play. The Marshall will do nothing to push pace - just told us to enjoy the course and take it easy. Rated a top muni course back in 2009, but not worth the money. "Regulars" (they sell memberships) rule the course with slow play and large groups. read more

Booked 3 people online and it was all good. As soon as we knew we wanted to add a fourth we called the pro shop and they said no problem we got you changed for 4. When we arrived for our tee time the man running the pro shop, Graem Hendricks, stated we only had three down, and someone else had added his name to our time. He became extremely combative while I was asking honest questions as to how this could happen if we called and booked through them. He stated that he doesn't know that we did in fact change it to four because it wasn't him that we talked to. I felt this comment was unnecessary and for someone working for his company he wasn't interested in trying to make it right. He stated that they were busy and would have to work us in. We stood in the pro shop awkwardly and then he looked at us and asked if we were going to the tee because others had to golf. He never told us we'd be able to golf or not before. It was the worst customer service I've ever had in my entire life and I was incredibly disappointed. We had no issues waiting but he was so combative so quick and I never even changed my voice. The course was nice. The maintenance staff was also nice, as was the cart girl. Graem was just rude and ruined the start of our experience. As long as I see him employed on the website, we will be golfing at other courses. read more

Horrible management period. I understand that a course is full but why book everyone so close together that you can't complete a 4 hour round. On your flyer in the cart is states "we believe in the 4 hour round" ha that's a laugh it was Friday morning not Saturday afternoon. I was also told by the Marshall either play slower or don't play here. Ok I will take my 50 dollars elsewhere because that's all they care about management and marshals are a joke. Love playing this course! Been playing it for years, they lost their greens at the beginning of the year but thankfully they got them back and they are in great condition. Course makes you hit almost all of your clubs in your bag and gives you a nice fun challenge. They also make one of the best burgers in town and their breakfast burritos and /or sandwiches are amazing! read more
