To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during my recent visit to your golf course. I have always believed that a golf course should uphold a standard of respect, professionalism, and fairness for all players on the course. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. During our round, my group was playing at a pace consistent with the groups ahead and behind us. At one point, the course became backed up, and as a result, we were bunched up with the group in front of us while another group was also closely behind. This is a normal occurrence on a busy day, and something that should be handled with understanding and fairness. However, an older staff member approached our group in a manner that was unnecessarily confrontational and, frankly, disrespectful. Rather than assessing the situation as a whole, he chose to single out our group, speaking to us in a tone that felt accusatory and dismissive. What makes this especially frustrating is that the group behind us was equally bunched up, yet no attention or correction was directed toward them. Being singled out in this way, despite clearly not being the root of the issue, was both unfair and embarrassing. We were doing our best to maintain pace, and there was nowhere for us to go due to the congestion ahead. Instead of being treated with basic courtesy and understanding, we were spoken to as if we were the problem. I want to be clear: I have no issue with course management ensuring pace of play. That is understandable and expected. What I do take issue with is the lack of professionalism, the selective enforcement, and the disrespectful tone used toward us. There is a right way and a wrong way to address customers, and this situation was handled the wrong way. I hope this feedback is taken seriously. No paying customer should feel disrespected or unfairly targeted while simply trying to enjoy a round of golf. Fairway is good Green a little bump but they run fast. There are no sand bunkers on this course.

I will give them a little grace since i went right after a big rain, but there was a disgusting amount of trash everywhere, terribly kept greens, a serious lack of water stops on the course, overall the main thing that bugged me was the extreme amount of trash everywhere, ive never seen anything like that on a golf course it was disgusting and i feel bad for the wildlife in the area that has to deal with it. read more

Well, I still like the place! Got to play here again and we all enjoyed it, well, as much as you can love/hate golf... It's a very open course - there is a good amount of holes that have water hazards which stinks but - there are no traps so - win-win?? But this is a classic Texas-style course; open, flat, little brush, dry grass, greens that play extremely fast but all in decent enough shape that you'll have a nice day here. Nice clubhouse, carts work well. We did leave a phone in a cart, called about it, they said they would check. Called again, said they checked and didn't find it. We knew where it exactly was and told them specifically. We got frustrated, drove back, ran to the cart we had used - thank god we knew the number - and the phone was right there. So - no idea why someone couldn't check for us even when we told them exactly where to find it. Maybe too busy checking their phones? read more

Pro shop guys are nice enough. Course is in decent enough shape, although construction on the cart paths doesn't help. Half the holes aren't even marked. The signage on the course is inconsistent at best. If it's open, and half the time it's not, the snack bar is ridiculously priced. If you like playing with water everywhere, you might like this place. read more

Giving 5 stars, not the best course around but definitely a decent play, course is very forgiving. Has a total of 27 holes so 3 different 9s and they will tell you which two you're playing upon arrival, fairways not the best but I've seen and played way worse at more expensive courses, for $35 you can't bet it. Only down side is the greens ROLLLL you ball will not stick no matter what! But all in all I'd play again read more

Played yesterday (8/16) and the course is in FANTASTIC condition. Greens we all beautiful, fairways pretty lush, and price doesn't get better for 27 holes. Be negative, especially in summer, is lack of water on the course. Find some businesses to sponsor water hugs it's easy to do. Golf = A+ Bbq on site = F (FAIL!!!!!) I've never paid for worse brisket - it was more jerky than anything else, on stale rolls that fell apart. Whoever you have as "pitmaster" needs to be replaced, period. read more

Just your average course IMO. No bunkers, but lots of water to maneuver around. They do have 3 9's so pace was fine on a Saturday morning. There was a good amount of work being done on some holes to make improvements, so it may change in the future. Good course for the average golfer. read more

Quality golf for a reasonable price. There are three nine-hole courses, you will be designated to play two out of the three for eighteen holes when you check-in with the clubhouse. No bunkers, however, a great amount of challenge is nevertheless found within the narrow fairways, trees, and water hazards that are virtually present on every hole. Greens here are also in very good shape. This is a great track to improve your golf game in both long and short facets! I've played here several times. It's a pretty good course, not extremely challenging but there are definitely some challenging holes, especially on the White course. It's a good course to come out and practice, pretty score-able with no sand, it also has had the best deals on GolfNow recently so definitely worth checking out. read more

This is the real deal, old school golf course. 3 nine hole courses that the super-grumpy guys in the clubhouse will pick for your playing pleasure - and you can't go wrong with any of the three (although I'm a big fan of the blue and red courses). No sand anywhere on the course. Just about every hole involves trees (not huge trees, little annoying mesquite trees), lots of water in play. Nice tee boxes. Good (and sometimes great) greens, great fairways. Great hole layouts that go from fun to challenging with a turn of a corner. Two drawbacks - kind of weird location and the pro shop staff goes out of their way to be indifferent and just generally put out (not the snack bar staff, they're cool). All in all a great place to play if you want to get that late 60's, early 70's course feel. read more

You would think that the tv's would have golf on but no, ask to have them change it ... attitude from children that work here. They have to much fun in the back the customers are last to have service. Hey at least it must be a party place to work because the service not so much. read more

One great thing about Prairie Lakes is that there are 27 holes, and you get to play them all (if you have time) with your green fee. So, if you've got a whole day free, it could be a lot of fun. Prices are very reasonable, given that there are 27 holes. Several things keep this place from getting 4 stars: 1. I can't recall a single bunker at all. I think there are actually a couple, but they really don't affect how you play, so they might as well not be there. As much as I hate going into bunkers, they add another element to the course and make it more challenging. 2. You have to return the carts by 7pm, even though the sun doesn't set until after 8ish these days. 3. There is no course layout on the scorecards or at the hole. So, you kinda are playing in the dark. But, you can find out that stuff on their webpage. It just seems silly that they don't print it out anywhere, or at least anywhere that me and Park W. could recognize. 4. It's kinda far from where I live. But hey I guess that's relative for you yelpers. In general though, 27 holes for what, $30ish on the weekends including cart is a really good deal. read more

Great value for some great golf. Good variety with 27 holes. All 3 Courses: Red, White & Blue offer a great variation of difficulty levels from hole to hole. I'm consistently impressed by how the grounds are kept. Easily my favorite place to play in DFW. Really cheap rounds can be scored by looking around online but even full price is a bargain for the round you'll get. The only thing that kept me from giving 5* was the crew of younger bros who work the pro shop on weekday evenings. Couldn't hurt anybody for them cheer up and try to be a little more helpful. read more

Worst golf experience I've ever had. I made a tee time over the phone and when we got to the course the guy at the clubhouse could not have been more rude. He called me a liar for having made the tee time over the phone and would not honor the sale price even though I showed him a screenshot of the price and email confirmation. I wish I had gotten his name so I could include it in this review. He made it seem like I was trying to walk onto Augusta National on the first Sunday in April, not some shitty public course in Grand Prairie. read more

I really enjoy playing here. The practice facilities are fantastic and probably my favorite feature. The driving range is really cool and the putting/chipping areas are the most fun to practice on out of all the golf courses I frequent. Bang for buck you probably couldn't do much better that Prairie Lakes. There are three 9-hole courses, and each plays very different. The red course is the easiest, and the blue and white courses are both challenging. The greens are always in great condition. That means you can mix it up and get a totally different feel several times before playing the same stretch of 18 holes again. The layouts for all three courses are fair, with not too many blind shots. My favorite hole by far is the 8th hole or 7th hole on the red course where you have can drive the ball over a big pond if you can carry 235. My favorite thing about PL is that because there are three courses, it rarely gets overcrowded to the point where you have lengthy waits on tee boxes. We played on a weekend and there were so many groups that they ran out of golf carts, and we still finished in just around four hours. The staff is very friendly. The clubhouse is part pro-shop, part BBQ restaurant. The bbq sandwich is to die for. I've dropped by for a sandwich several times without bringing my clubs. No bunkers, just trees. read more

The course was in great shape and the greens are some of the best in the DFW area. For example, the greens at Prairie Lakes were in better condition than the Tribute which I played a week earlier but that is another story. Because of the three nine holes of golf, the course was not busy so I didn't feel rushed and is the best value in the city. I paid less than $40 for an early Sunday tee time and the food (barbeque) was great. I plan to play this course at least once a month because I enjoyed my outing very much. read more

not sure where some of these folks are actually playing or if they work here but a really below par course. greens are bad, browned out and tufts of grass all over so the roll is terrible. They should be charging half price and a free ride home. fairways are matted "sorta grass". I played 3 courses last week and the other two had green "greens" that rolled really well. This place has been in a serious downward spiral in the last year and the declination is speeding up. read more
