Nowadays Pear Tree Cottage set in 3 acres of gardens is a lovely place to stay in the heart of Wilmcote. This once B&B, now offers 2 lovely furnished flats for stays of any period. The owners, Philip and his charming lady, Janice,take care of you and your needs in a most caring way, and you will arrive to find the kitchen stocked with cafetiere coffee, hovis bread, good english butter, fresh milk and other groceries. You can sit in the extensive garden and enjoy twilight glasses of wine and chat to your heart's content. Just down the road a bit, is the post office cum grocery where shelves are stocked with chocolate, biscuits, wine, bread, fresh meats delivered daily and all the wonderful country foods and fruit your heart can imagine. It is only a 3minute walk to the local station where you can hop on train for a 5 minute run to Stratford any time of day or night. You can actually walk along the barge paths straight into Stratford upon Avon to shop and eat and see live Shakespeare at its best. Nearby Birmingham is a must for serious shoppers. In this the second largest city in the UK, besides a tempting array of restaurants, museums and art galleries, you can certainly 'shop till you drop!' It is a most convenient place to travel to as there is an international airport and fast trains from London will get you there easily. It is all there for you to enjoy and as I have ended my ramblings many times before, "you just have to DO IT".

Gilfach Goch (Red Hollow) Farm is a self-catering, three bedroom Cottage that sleeps 5 but on the…read moresame farm there is a four bedroom converted barn conversion that sleeps eight. It is a grade 2 listed 400 year old traditional Welsh Farm house situated in heart of the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. The cottage is oak beamed with slate floors on a 60 acre Welsh hill farm overlooking the sea and Shell Island. It has a Crog loft with 3 interconnecting bedrooms and a bathroom. Down stairs there is a living room with wood burning stove, a dinning room (with a wood burning stove) and a modern fitted kitchen. The cottage is secluded and approached down a 1/2 mile private drive, yet it is only a mile from the village of Llanbedr. The Barn Conversion named Ty Gwenol sleeps eight.. This is a conversion of two barns dating from the 17th century with many original features and extensive exposed beams and oak floor. It has a large modern farmhouse kitchen/diner and the lounge has the original high barn ceiling with the exposed A frame timbers. There are 4 twin bedrooms in all. Bedroom 1 is upstairs in the main barn and has exposed beams. Bedroom 2 is situated downstairs has an adjoining shower room with wash basin and toilet. Bedroom 3 is in the new extension. Bedroom 4 has a high original oak beamed ceiling with an ensuite shower room, washbasin and toilet. This bedroom also features a kitchenette and is the room we often choose if available as this also has its own separate entrance. There is also a full sized bathroom with shower over the bath. Outside is a patio area and lawned garden overlooking farmland and the coast. Through the woods to the back is a large stone circled fire pit and if you ask Roger and Lesley nicely you may even get an night under the stars round a camp fire. There is parking for 3 cars I will be totally transparent and say this farm is owned by a member of my family and although you may expect a little bias, I am reviewing this after staying in all of the parts of the farm, talking to countless guests and hoping that others more unconnected with the family will back this review up. Many of the people I have met staying at the same time as me have been there before, booking once or twice a year and returning regularly. I think the accommodation is great value for money, the surroundings beautiful and the spot is a great base for exploring North Wales. Should you also want to do some adventure activities, Roger and Les can cater there too!

Bryngwenyn Farm is just as steeps writes and in a beautiful spot, I would definitely recommend its' location for a peaceful getaway with its' holiday cottages and b and b with the great advantage of the fabulous mainly organic farmshop with wonderful proper organic and freerange eggs(delicious for breakfast today). As well as doing a good shop there, we bought the aforementioned sausages, pork etc some wonderful organic vegetables, we had delicious home made cake and tea so definitely a step up from the usual supermarket venture.

Bryngwenyn Farm is many things in one. The part we go for is the Farm Shop. We were pointed here by…read moreout neighbours and decided to visit one Sunday afternoon. It is a bit off the beaten track so we had never seen it before, but we were pleasantly surprised. The shop itself is tiny, but still seems to hold plenty of goodies. There is a freezer full of meat (including the best sausages we have ever tasted), a fridge packed with cheese, yoghurt, milk and more, another freezer with bread, icecream and frozen fruits, a fruit and vegetable section and then shelves full of everything you can think of. They even stock Ecover products so if you are looking to avoid the supermarket, this is the place to go. Their home-milled flour is well worth a try and makes delicious bread. The shop is also a cafe and is laid out with a few tables. If you are looking for something different, they sell Alpaca wool gloves and hats! The rest of the farm includes holiday cottages and animals to see as well as the flour mill. I am tempted to sign up for one of the bread making courses. It is in an idyllic spot too with gorgeous views and a posse of sheep to greet you as you make your way down the track!
