It was okay. I've definitely had better BBQ, but I've had worse. It was pretty expensive for what you got tho. H-E-B's better.

Great brisket. Ribs are even better. The people are the as nice as they come and treat you like family. Must try.

I'd heard a lot about this place but never had it. I picked up three, 3 meat plates with ribs, sausage, and brisket for my family and we all enjoyed them. The meat was seasoned well and they offered very large portions of each meat. The brisket tasted more oven cooked than like bbq but it was still good. My go to in midland was always sam's but I guess due to their being closed, I'll have to check out Tanks more often when in midland. read more

I was in town to visit family when they called in an order for chopped beef sandwich's and fries. I wasn't impressed with either one. I didn't think the sandwich was much more than a brisket version of sloppy joe beef manwich you could make at home. The fries were droopy. Next time I'll try something more in line with a bbq plate. read more

I was excited to try this place out because of the reviews and thought it would be those hole in the wall type places. Well, it definitely is a hole in the wall. It's the only thing on that pathway and looks run down. Usually people order it as take out so don't be surprised if you see a few parked cars with people waiting inside. On the side, there is a picnic table and a small table for you to enjoy your food there if you want. The menu is located near the window and was really vague. We ordered by the pound so I'm not sure what exactly is on a plate or when you order 1 meat vs 2 meats. We got 1 lb of brisket, 1/2 a lb of ribs and 2 links. I figured we would get the food pretty quick since it's BBQ and they should have everything on the rack already but it took a good while. They finished the orders of two people ahead of us and then took some more time with our order. Our total came out to be about $35. Kind of expensive for what we got in the end. I was super eager to eat the BBQ when I got home. The order came with 5 slices of white bread, a container of BBQ sauce and a container of sliced onions. Once I opened the box, I noticed all the meats were drenched in sauce. Rule number one of BBQ would be not to rely too much on sauce because the meat is that good. I noticed the portions were small. The 2 links didn't even look like a full link that I'm used to. I still didn't want to accept what I was seeing so the only way to really test how good it was would be tasting it. The links were cut up which is nice but some were burnt. It didn't have much flavor of anything aside from the sauce. The ribs were dried. I couldn't even eat the ends because it was just burnt and hard. The brisket didn't fall apart or melt in my mouth. It just tasted like the BBQ sauce it was drenched in. I wouldn't come back because of the experience I had. I wasn't left fully satisfied like I normally do with BBQ. read more

Tank has barbecue in the name, but burgers in his soul. I discovered the place by accident, tried most things on the menu. The bbq isn't bad, but holy cow, the burgers are amazing! Meat cooked and seasoned to perfection, don't order a double meat, you'll regret it unless you stretch your stomach first. The sides are always excellent- fries, onion rings, potato salad not bad either. Place looks terrible, definitely a diamond in the rough, I can't ding them for that, I call it camouflage! read more

Just tried this place. Was voted best BBQ in Midland. It is a takeout stand without any seating. The owner cooks the meat on an outside trailer with a grill on it. The chopped brisket was probably the best I've had. Very flavorful and juicey. The potato salad was also excellent. The pinto beans were fairly flavorless. The slices brisket was full of fat rings. Overall, this place is a must try! read more
