I had a really disappointing experience at Tanner's in Lincoln. The smell inside was overwhelming and made it hard to enjoy being there at all. It honestly seems like there's little to no ventilation--the air felt stale the entire time. By the time we left, our clothes smelled so bad that we had to change right away when we got home. That alone is a huge turnoff. It didn't feel clean or well-maintained, and because of that, I wouldn't go back. I hope management seriously addresses the ventilation issue. read more

My fiance and I come to Tanners all the time. We love to sit at the bar because the service is always so fast and friendly. They have plenty of tvs everywhere with always the best current sports on, including UFC fights. They even have a nice sitting area outside with tvs out there as well. I have never had a bad experience here and recommend anyone to try this place out. The beer is always cold and the food never disappoints. Got the lunch special, wings .90 (cents) each at Tanner's. I was actually expecting punny skinny baby chicken wings and was amazed by the size of wings they served. The Garlic Parmesan sauce was delicious and I loved the extra sprinkling of Parmesan Cheese over the top. Wings were prepared perfectly moist on inside and crispy on the outside, and saucy! Serena was on top of her game with our beverages and plenty of napkins for the sloppy sauce. Service was terrific. Being lunch with the specials they were running, I would have expected a full house but surprisingly not. Y'all in Lincoln don't know what you're missing; you really need to check this place out!! The environment wasn't loud with the large number of TVs so seems like a great place to watch March Madness!! Ask for Serena! We have been to Tanner's, Lincoln, NE many, many times. So many I cannot count. However, this evening, 15 June 24 the service was great but the food was not at its best. Food came out lukewarm warm. Ordered two patty melts, meat was too think for the patty melt. Both were just warm. Ordered charred bone in chicken wings. Individual who ordered them said they tasted spicy. Hubby tasted and they tasted spicy to him. They were luke warm. Found out that the charred wings are coated with buffalo sauce and then refried. Asked for a new minus the sauce they were nice and hot. Reordered minus any buffola sauce. Charred is just with seasoning on them. If we knew their charred also including a sauce during the process of making them charred we would have not ordered them. They have delicious tater tots they were served luke warm. My husband who loves their tarot tots did not even eat a third of them. Fries came out cold too. Also, the wait time for food to be served was at least 20-25 minutes and they were not that busy. We had a bigger party, like 12 people. Getting together to see family from out of state and we were treated like we were such an inconvenience yet they weren't that busy. The didn't want us to push tables together, only giving us the option of a high top when we had a 3 year old and 80 year olds. Not the best seats for them They were out of so much stuff and just were rude the whole time. We asked if we could have separate tickets when paying (before we ordered) and she said "well that's really hard for me, but I guess" giving us an eyeroll. I was looking forward to their delicious food. I was so wrong.... customer service was so bad. My late dinner consisted of 1 (one) beer. After waiting over 30 minutes for a burger, it was cold and cold/chewey like a piece of leather. Our server was chatting up at the bar with other servers and just forgot about us. I go to Tanner's every few weeks and decided to check their yelp reviews and noticed they weren't great. The staff is actually quite the same staff the past few years, and seem to be a great group. The food is always done well and the menu is a good size without being too large to allow for some items to fall through the cracks of being good or not. Pretty solid items are always their wings, burgers, Tacos, appetizers and my favorite, the pork tenderloin sandwich. The place is clean and fun, never witnessed loud obnoxious music in the years I've been like some of the other reviews mentioned oddly. And haven't ever had bad service . My only complaint is they don't have much selection for beers outside of your standards ( bud,colors, Miller, corona etc) with Lincoln being a city with so much attention to brewery's some craft beers n locals would be welcomed greatly . read more

Tanner's is a chain with a location in Omaha and now Lincoln. Parking is mostly on the east side, in a well-lit lot. Patrons seat themselves. Typical bar fare for the menu. Chicken lips are skinny chicken fingers. They have sandwiches, wings, tater tots, hot dogs, nachos, Waitress service at the tables. My party was well-tended on Christmas Eve. We had Lots-O-Nachos. They were good with beef. More salsa and sour cream would be good. Today the wait staff was very attentive both with taking orders and bussing tables. Our food arrived promptly and was well prepared. The draft beer I had was flat and the food was pretty slow to arrive. Appetizers were ok, wings were really good, kids meal Mac and cheese my kid wouldn't even eat, it was pretty gross. But the most disappointing thing was my four year old son left his Stanley Cup on the table. After realizing it on the way home we called, and luckily they said they had picked it up and would keep it for us to pick up the next day. However when my wife went to pick it up "they couldn't find it". So an employee basically took it. Not a fan of this place. After my friends and I were seated, we had to listen to the waitresses argue over who was in charge of our table. After that was settled, the waitress was impatient and rude, I wish the other one would've won the argument. Their wing sauces had fun names but no description as to what flavor they were. We are moving to a home near Tanners and decided to eat there tonight. My wife ordered the Asian chicken salad which turned out to be pretty good. I ordered the Philly beef and fries which turned out to be a big disappointment. The menu says smothered in swiss cheese. That equals one slice. The beef was overcooked and dry. There were almost no peppers and the biggest sin was the fries must have been hot 2 hours before we got there. So all in all not very good. I won't go back anytime soon, if at all. Great place to watch football! TV's galore and ALL the games are on. The place is usually filled with all different NFL fans so its festive. Service is always good and they have great wings! We went here on a Friday evening after having some drinks at the fox. I'm not sure we'll be back. It was an underwhelming experience, service wise and price wise. Food was mediocre but nothing to rave about. It was fairly busy when we arrived, however definitely past 7pm and the peak of children and families that had most likely already received their food. My husband and I both opted for the philly's with tots and fries. The philly was good and meat was plentiful, but nothing extraordinary. Fries and tots were basic, with nothing that set them apart. We waited well over an hour for our food (3 philly's and an order of wings, as we were with another friend). The waitress did the bare minimum, and did come to get us another pitcher of beer, but never a mention of when our food would be out. I feel as though she was maybe avoiding our table because either A) they initially forgot about our food or B) the kitchen was just really slow on this night. It was almost to the point of finding her and asking about the wait. We get our bill and bud light pitchers are $11. I'm sorry but that's a little steep for domestics. It shouldn't be more than $10 and generally at most places the range is $7-9 depending on deals. It could be the snazzy new neighborhood, but when service and food quality don't match that standard, it's upsetting to spend that much for bud light when there are better options. read more

First time visiting this restaurant. Went on a Friday night - not too bad of a crowd. Will most definitely go back again. Had the charred Teriyaki Chicken Lips with ranch dressing. They were awesome and just the right amount. Had the tator tots which were really good as well. It was a fun atmosphere for a sport's bar. I'm sure on Husker game day it is really crazy! The only negative thing is the waitress was not overly friendly. It took a long time to get our drinks and when my food came it was warm, not overly hot, like it had been sitting there awhile. I sent it back and got a fresh plate which was much better. She did not go out of her to way to make our visit enjoyable. With all of that being said, I will go back again. Really good place. I had the Reuben with onion rings and it was really really good. Maybe the best Reuben I've had in Lincoln. The onion rings were thick and well battered, and they come with good chipotle ranch dressing. Lots of drinks, and beers on tap and bottles too.
