For starters, the onion rings here are insane. Insanely good that is. We ordered a strawberry lemonade which paired perfectly with it too. The onion rings are huge, definitely enough to go around for everyone. The breading is what got me. They were cooked perfectly, but tasty and crunchy at the same time. I ordered salmon for my main dish, with a side of mashed potatoes. My toddler had grilled jumbo shrimp with green beans. My husband got the breakfast enchiladas. Everything was great. Lazlo's is a family favorite lunch spot that we go to every time we are in town. It's good comfort food. The wraps and sandwiches are some of our favorites. My personal favorite is the pot roast covered in a rich gravy! They always have some fun seasonal beer to try. The atmosphere at lunch is a little more quiet, but it can get super busy. People come here with large groups a lot so I would suggest a reservation! The service is super quick and attentive. We love it here! read more

I can gladly say our most recent visit was outstanding. We came in around the holidays at about 7:45pm after going to the zoo lights. We had a large group and they were able to quickly accommodate us without a reservation. Our servers were phenomenal. Drinks came out quick. The food was fantastic. Just a really great experience. Went in alone sat at bar 3pm not crowded. Ignored because bartender was busy eating her lunch openly by the register and inputting something into it. Finally said hello I ordered an IPA (very good beer but visit went down from there) there were dirty glasses amassed on the end of the bar a gentleman asked her why and she said her drain is clogged she can't wash them. He put on a glove reached in the drain and pulled out piles of limes lemons garnish and told her "it's clogged because you put all that shit in there" she came back with "to be fair it's not just me." Glasses remained. I then ordered a club sandwich (California style which is added avocado) while waiting I took a pic of the beer taps go share with my husband because we love beer. Because of hos questions I (waited for her eating and typing again) and asked if they sold cans or crowlers to go. She had to ask someone if they still have cans (no) and had no idea what a crowler was. I'm visiting so a growler wasn't practical. Food comes. No detectable avocado. I swear she was going to reach over and spread apart my sandwich but she was annoyed and told me "well I rang it up right!" Like that matters. Eating decent sandwich and i notice a nitro tap. Ask her about it she explained it 1000% incorrectly but i got a splash anyway. It was very good and I ordered one. Check comes oops needs to take off avocado upgrade (didn't leave it long enough for me to look harder. 2nd attempt realize she didn't charge me happy hour price for the beers huffs away to change that. While she was occupied a manager type person was near me and said "how's it going" my answer was "beers good but she's dumb as a rock" ok not the best word choice but I was beyond frustrated at that point. He snaps at me about how horrible it is to call people names )I didn't call her anything just an observation) he starts to madly comp my check (I had asked for nothing) she asks why and he told HER what I said then She address me "well that's a mean thing to say" I now have 3/4 of a beer left and I'm sitting at a bar with a pissed off bartender. He won't let me explain or in anyway tell him what happened so I went and sat at a small table with 2 empty beers on it so I don't have to stare at her. He comes over and loudly busses the table without a word just a dirty look. So I finished my beer and left. PS glasses still not washed woman still picking at food and playing with the register. This was a surprise dinner visit since hubby and I both had a long week at work. It was a busy Friday evening. And since we didn't want to wait for a table- wait time was about 25 minutes, we chose to sit at the bar. I couldn't be happier. Our bartender served us immediately. I wished I'd gotten her name. She had wonderful service and is very mcie and bubbly. I spotted a cool looking bottle of liquer and asked her what it was. She told me it was watermelon liquer. So I said I wanted something made from that and told her to surprise me and ooooo that she did! It was wonderfully fruity and tastefully done. Looked like a watermelon with a layer of red underneath. It was aesthetically beautiful and tasted wonderful. We got chips and salsa for appetisers. The chips were a little disappointing- felt a little stale. But the food we ordered more than made up for it. I ordered salmon with wild rice and sautéed green beans. My salmon was to die for. It was made medium so it remained succulent inside. After dinner, hubby encouraged me to get another drink. So I asked her to surprise me again and she pulled it off yet again. This time I requested for something floral. She stated really hard at the shelves and made me something I liked even more. There wasn't a name to it. And I'm not sure I could ever get it again but I loved it so much. It's elderflower liquer with a touch of blackberry flavour, some vodka and something else. Honestly I don't remember but the taste wow. Even hubby liked it I would come back whenever she is on duty. I have loved Lazlo's ever since they opened in the Haymarket many moons ago. Whenever we travel back to Lincoln we have to stop. The food and beverages are always solid. I really enjoy their beer. They have a nice selection of their flagship beer and usually a couple season. The Burning Skye Scottish Ale, and the Vanilla Porter are favorites of mine. I also enjoy their ESB. Not many breweries make a bitter, so it's fun to get a pint when I find it. For the food, I don't think you can go wrong with any dish. I love the Rueben. Top 10 that I have ever had. I also love their french fries with honey mustard dressing, or the creamy garlic dressing. The majestic pork chop is also a favorite. For starters my go too are the spinach artichoke dip, and the voodoo chicken lavosh. The lavosh is huge, so it's easily shared, or eaten as leftovers. Their crisp salad Lazlo is a great side. Really pleased with the service and food, but the arrangement of glass objects above the bar in front of the high windows is very annoying because A they need to be windexed, and the clear glass objects need to relate to each other in color and material. My husband and I stopped here on our way to a Huskers game. For pregame, this place was hopping , but we opted to sit in the bar area to be seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and prompt on getting our drink orders. I went with a BLT and added avocado with fries. I feel like our food took a little longer than expected to get our food, but it was worth the wait. Everything on my plate tasted great, and I can't wait to go back again. Had such a great experience at Lazlo's South in Lincoln! I sat at the bar and was lucky enough to be taken care of by Avery. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in her service. We were visiting from out of town and a local friend recommended Lazlo's. We went for lunch on a Friday. Atmosphere is friendly and the wait staff was great. I'm plant-based and was happy to see I had more than one option. I went with the Quinoa Burger without the cheese and jalapeños. The burger was a little crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked. Topped with avocado corn relish, spinach and red onions made it very tasty. And, it came with ample french fries. I also tried one of their craft beers, The Sunslinger Extra Pale Ale. Very refreshing with a hint of lemon. My husband got the Pub Club with a loaded baked potato. He was very pleased and loved the honey-mustard dipping sauce for the sandwich. My son's entree came out later than the rest and they took it off the bill without asking. This restaurant is definitely a "do-over" next time we are in the Lincoln area. read more

We love Lazlo's, every time we come it's great service and amazing food. Some of our favorites are their thick cut onion rings with the homemade honey mustard dipping sauce. Entrees we had the Lahvosh (which is actually an appetizer but I order it as my entree every time)! Dessert was strawberry shortcake. UGH, MATEY. The only way I'll go here for fish and chips again is to go by Long John Silver first and then sneak it in here. The first serving was only slightly warm. I sent it back. The second returned with excellent chips but poorly done fish. The batter had broken in the cooking process allowing the fry oil inside. The result was like crisp batter balloons with fish jerky inside resulting in oil spilling out and rolling on the tongue. Kathy had the burger with pineapple on it. I used to travel to Szombathely Hungary on business and knew a Lazlo Toth and envisioned some of the places I ate there dark and dingy but Lazlo's here in Lincoln Nebraskas is nothing like that. The super high wood beamed ceilings and lovely stone facades make the place a gorgeous eatery. The place was filled with happy people, to bursting, all chatting and talking at once strips lonely from my mind as I could hear some of the guests telling their stories. Our waiter a man....shocked me too... (very European) was Johnny on the spot with my coke and Makers Mark. He didn't blink an eye when I asked him to separate my alcohol and meal ticket. I got prime rib (medium) and green beans perfect crunch and butter flavor and large curd cottage cheese. I wanted horseradish raw and sour cream mixed and that was no problem. He even brought me Au Jus which I drink like a beverage. I am so happy with dinner tonight after a 10-hour drive from TMMI in Princeton IN where we build Highlanders Siennas and pretty soon Lexus vehicles. We came in here while on business with Toyota at Baxter Toyota. How can I express my gratitude for a good dinner and more than reasonably priced $29.61 meal. Three Makers Mark and Coke $24.53. Drove into Lincoln late and wanted to eat before we checked into the hotel. Drove around downtown until he decided on this place. He'd been here before and had liked it so we ran in the rain to get in without getting too wet. The kitchen was closing in half an hour so we looked at the menu and decided on a pub club and hickory-grilled barramundi. With an IPA and a strawberry margarita rimmed with salt. The pub club is ham, smoked turkey, cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on toasted honey wheat bread. You can add avocado and have it California style as well. The barramundi is a meaty and mild white fish which was seasoned and brushed with garlic lemon butter before being grilled. It came with a side - sautéed green beans for me - and a salad or soup. I chose soup as it was raining and I wanted some warmth. Went with beer cheese soup or that's what I think he said. Sounded intriguing. That came with toasted bread crumbs in the soup abd a side of toasted dipping bread. It was similar in texture to broccoli and cheddar soup with a slight taste of beer. The bread was a little too toasted but since we didn't eat it all no biggie. The pub club looked really good and the fries were delish. I ate some even though I was full with own meal. I love potatoes. The barramundi was delicate in flavor. The seasoning they used didn't overpower the fish. It was well cooked and while I might have preferred more salt, I didn't add any since I'm trying to consume less salt in my diet. However, the dish was still tasty especially with the sautéed green beans. A good suggestion by the bartender who took our order. The margarita wasn't as strong as some I've had but it was a nice drink after a long day of driving. This was a nice meal and atmosphere. I will remember it in case we stop in Omaha again. read more

Lazlo's is and probably will forever be one of Lincoln's best of the best places to eat. I remember when I started college way back in the early 2000s telling my friends that when I moved to Lincoln I would eat Voodoo Chicken at Lazlo's every day! And while that was not fiscally possible for a broke college kid, I did go every chance I could. Now I'm old as dirt and Lazlo's remains one of my favorite venues in town and Voodoo chicken is still the best thing on their menu. And those fries with creamy garlic dipping sauce!! Im literally drooling writing this. Don't get me wrong, voodoo chicken is the best thing they have, but that doesn't in anyway disparage the rest of their menu. I have had pretty much all of it over the years and can honestly say, I have never been disappointed in a single dish they have made me. The ribs are a close second in my book if you aren't feeling like eating the chicken that they serve in heaven. The staff is always friendly and the service is usually very fast. If you go over a lunch hour they bring your your check right away in case you need to get back to work in a hurry. All service is geared around the customer's experience. We went on a Sunday, we walked in when they opened, maybe 2 large parties ahead of us, walked up to the hostess said we were a party of 6, she immediately said it will be 10-15 minute wait as they would have to get a table ready. The other parties were also still waiting, one gal got a large table ready but didn't seat anyone for 5 minutes or more, then we saw them set up another large table but again they waited for some time before they finally seated them, so my husband went up ask why was it taking so long, same response 5-10 minute wait. We could see wait staff standing near the back, they would step out and look around, there were empty tables everywhere, in fact we were standing right next to a table for 6. Finally we decided to just leave, never been treated so rude, none of it made any sense, why have people standing there when there were tables everywhere. We were worried when we pulled up at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening and the lot was packed but we were seated right away. What a cool place. The huge wavy glass panels and high beam ceiling gave it a nice vibe. They have a good selection of their home brews and my husband enjoyed his nut brown. I enjoyed my martini! The food was quite good. The Reuben sandwich had a great flavor with grilled sauerkraut although it could have used a little more meat. Service was lovely. Gluten free buns are a plus. For years Lazlos has been our go-to place when visiting Lincoln. My husband grew up here and with family in the area we come back a bit. We always make time on our itinerary to get a runza and grab a dinner at Lazlos. What has happened to our tried and true restaurant?? It's like a chilis now. We could always count on a juicy burger or great steak. Not anymore. It's just gross. Asked for medium rare burger and got well done. Everyone at the table had their food well done. It was not appetizing. This is our third and last time we give Lazlos another try. Last year we ate at the haymarket Lazlos and it was just as bad. Sadly, we won't be back. Just went to Lazlo's for a late lunch. Hate to say it but this place has really gone downhill since the last time we were here. We ordered Onion Rings that took forever to get and when they finally arrived were burned. My wife then ordered a burger and I ordered the "Pub-Club". Both orders took what seemed to be a long time to produce which is odd since the restaurant was basically empty. The Pub-Club, when it did arrive was ice cold and the bread that was used was as hard as concrete. On top of that, the service was unfriendly and in my view terrible, and yet there were multiple servers and various help staff wandering around in full view. It's been a while since I have been to Lazlos south, and it would appear standards have really fallen. My party was four people, we arrive at 6pm on a Sunday and were seated promptly. Everyone we encountered who worked at the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. Service was quite slow though. It was a long wait for our drinks, a long wait for our orders to be taken, and a very long wait for the food. When the food arrived my fries were at or just below room temperature. I immediately asked if I could have some hot fries. Our server was very polite and professional. He apologized for the cold fries and said he would get some new ones out. The new fries were served by who I would assume was the manager on duty. She didn't give us her name or tell us what her job roll was. She was very polite and apologized for the could fries. The new fries were hot; however, under-cooked and unseasoned, which is a shame because Lazlo's fry seasoning pretty epic, or at least it used to be. It was at this point another guest in our party noted that their sweet potato fries were also almost raw. The sever repeated the process as he had with my cold fries and after a while the woman we assumed to be a manager brought our more under cooked sweet potato fries. We basically gave up at this point. We were treated to a free desert which I chose to forgo. The wait for other members of our party's deserts was quite long and the wait for the check was ridiculously long. Lazlos used to have great service and great food. I wonder if this is yet another victim of covid and the struggle of restaurants to find good help. Whatever the issue, I don't think I will be returning. read more
