When I walked in here with my boyfriend I wasn't sure what to expect of their wings. We came here specifically for the wings so I was eager to try them out. I'm still fairly new to anything in Lincoln despite living in Nebraska for a little over a decade! He told me he's come here several times before and that their wings were pretty good. We were both hungry and knew we had a lot ahead of us so we wanted to eat a hearty meal that was tasty! We chose our sauces and waited patiently for the tray of wings! Boy, did they deliver! Our waitress came by with the a huge tray of our 40 wings, fries, tots, and some ranch. My mouth immediately dropped open without even realizing it. Our waitress chuckled as I gathered my mouth and took not only the wonderful drool inducing smells but also how large the wings were! They were delicious! We also had an ample amount of napkins as well. I loved both sauces that we ordered and actually look forward to stopping by for wings again should we ever be in town again. Chill atmosphere, excellent drinks, and challenging trivia night is what brought us to Cappy's. This bar came highly recommended by our hotel staff. This place was lively, casual, with friendly staff. This is just like every sports bar complete with TVs tuned to sports, multiple pool tables, and music. The menu is the standard bar food. The drink menu had some creative names for each special concoction. Reading them out loud gave us a good chuckle. I had the Baewatch which is Captain Morgan, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice. This drink is quite sweet and powerful and I ended up ordering 2 more rounds. I also ordered some garlic bread sticks as appetizers. I was determined to try the chicken wings and various sauces. I decided on half order with apricot bourbon glaze and the other half with honey garlic. The wings were still tender and juicy. The apricot bourbon glaze had some sweetness and the honey garlic had some heat. Trivia was both challenging and immensely entertaining. The questions were randomized and kept us on our toes. Overall, this is a great spot to unwind and enjoy some chicken wings while trying to name trivia songs from the 80s. read more

I would normally give this place a 10 out of 5 stars. Must be a new cook. Only reason why I haven't left is because this is the first time it's ever happened. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger hamburger was supposed to be done there was more pink then done. Now the good is this is the FIRST TIME ITS EVER HAPPENED!!!! Update on new food coming out Ok never mind so it's Not a new cook now the burger is burnt I paid extra for a cooked onions 2nd time there not cooked no lettuce or tomato on this one. Well it's about time I reviewed this place. My friends and I have been making this our weekly haunt every Wednesday for their trivia night. It's a little sportsbar in a random area. The location seemed a bit shady to me at first but over the months of coming here I barely notice anymore, I usually am just focusing on the delicious wings in my future. The inside is huge. A big bar, pool table room, an eating area with flat screens and a stage, and more seating in another room. They do trivia every Wednesday and the prizes are great and it's an awesome time. They have other events other nights of the week and lots of specials. The service has really impressed me. I wouldn't have expected it in a sportsbar, but the first night we went I called ahead and asked about gluten free. They gave me a cell phone number and who did I get? Well cappy himself of course! He let me know he's actually in the process of revamping his menu to labels for gluten free, but until then the serving staff would be able to help me. Some individuals in the kitchen have had training in gluten free and between them and the amazingly helpful servers I had a pretty great list. I get their chicken jalapeño nachos and naked wings with the honey garlic sauce..omg guys.. These wings.. These nachos.. An addiction has formed. Price is always ridiculously affordable and as I've said service is stellar, the girls always remember my order and that I'm gf. I have a long history with Cappys dating back to Karaoke and beer pong days. As of late it is our weekly haunt for awesome trivia on either Wednesday or Thursday with Dan. It's awesome that they give away legit gift cards for prizes not only for first to third place but also for getting a perfect round. Some takeaways--The wings are amazing and probably some of the best priced in town, at their normal menu price!! TONS of sauces you could try and hardly an up charge to make them grilled. Spicy garlic and xxx hot are the best. Just do it. In general the food is pretty good no matter what you get. Our clan gets burgers, appetizers, pizza, and nachos and I haven't heard much complaint. Food prices are pretty reasonable and the taco specials on Thursday are great. Get the fried tacos!! Most of the time it's a pleasant experience on Wednesday but service on Thursday needs major improvement which is why I cannot give a five. Twice now they've screwed up or attempted to screw up our tabs. I understand being busier some issues will arise but it's becoming a pattern. We wait for salsa and sauce for our tacos to the point where I'm just going to give up and eat it without or hunt it down myself. One week I started a tab at the bar and then there was some confusion in locating my card by both our server and the bartender. I was repeatedly asked if the card was given back to me despite telling them they had it, as if I was the one that had lost it. After it was located, I had an extra pitcher of beer on my tab. My friends had left and the server said it was theirs, so I paid for it. Turns out they were also charged for their pitcher so we were definitely double charged. Another week our server acted like we still owed them a $1 something even though the receipt was showing the card was charged and the amount was paid in full. This ended up being a glitch in their system for salsa that we never received but it shouldn't have been presented to us that we still owed them a measly $1 and argued about as though we still needed to pay this. Wednesday is definitely better!! Our server is great and is starting to know our drinks orders and there have been no issues with our tab. read more

I went here based on Yelp reviews, and man -- this was one time Yelp steered me in the wrong direction, that's for sure. My first impression when we walked in was that it was dingy an dirty -- carpet in a bar is never a great idea. We were brought absolutely massive menus -- think five pages, plus three full page inserts -- by our (very nice) waitress. I ordered the Ragin' Cajun and Peanut Butter Thai wings with a side of onion chips, and my husband got the Peanut Butter Bacon Burger with what we thought would be chili topped tater tots, but wound up being chili topped mashed potatoes -- not sure if that was a kitchen error, or we just missed the mark on reading the menu that much. My wings were large, and the Peanut Butter Thai sauce was pretty decent. The Ragin Cajun was spicy, but the BBQ sauce was way too sweet in my opinion. The onion chips were fine, but nothing special. However, there are plenty of better wings in Lincoln. My husband's Peanut Butter Bacon burger was probably the highlight of the trip, but even that was a fairly mediocre burger in a town that has so many great options. His mashed potatoes were very obviously instant, and neither the potatoes or chili has much flavor -- they were so bland he resorted to trying to scrape wing sauce from my plate to make them edible. The waitress was quite nice -- she made sure to let us know about $2.50 Jaeger Bombs, which seems like a good deal, if wholly unappealing while recovering on New Years Day after way too much Red Bull Vodka the night before. Cappy's may be a good South Lincoln bar spot -- I noticed they had flyers for two cover bands I've enjoyed at other venues -- but for food, this is definitely a place to skip. read more

Stopped in for lunch this afternoon and it's conveniently located in a strip mall right off 48th and Old Cheney boulevard. The place is your typical sports bar with tv's, beer signs, and Husker gear and they do have a nice stage for live music. We got our drinks quickly and the waitress was pretty friendly. I ordered the French dip which was pretty good, the dipping sauce was mainly oil and the meat was seasoned pretty good. My husband had the sour kraut burger and said it was delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes were good I wish they came with butter or gravy. I was really wishing I got their hot roast beef sandwich special which looked delicious. Overall it was pretty good. Service was fast and friendly! Location is easy to find and it's dark and quiet with plenty of sports to watch. I would recommend the burgers! read more

this place is by far my favorite in Lincoln. all the food is absolutely amazing. the pizza is as good as any in town. my absolute recommendation is the onion chips. these things are perfect fried perfection and i always order these either as an appetizer or side. they just recently started serving sweet potato fries with an aoli sauce and are fantastic as well. their ultimate burger is a must for burger lovers and is topped with pulled pork for a perfect burger combination. the philly cheesesteak sandwich is a perfect 10. you really can't go wrong with any of the food items on the menu. drink prices are best in town and the service is friendly and fast. the waitresses do run around at 100mph covering large areas by themselves, but they do a great job. a great place for any game day event or meal. on the weekends they have some fun bands and poker tournaments. any out of town friends always love this place as well and if you live in Lincoln give cappy's a chance and spread the word! my newest recommendation is the tortilla soup. it is delicious, thick and cheesy with a great spicy kick! read more

Oh man, I wanted to like this place more. I was looking for the best wings in Lincoln to watch a March madness game, and Yelp pointed me here. Place was pretty run down (especially on the outside), our service was slow, salty and annoyed with my questions (it was my first time there and I wanted to know what beer was on tap, jeez) and the different wing flavors tasted really similar. One of my top two places for wings in Lincoln. The other is the Watering Hole. But, these are the BEST non-seared wings as far as I'm concerned and the wings are less expensive than at Watering Hole. Huge wings and great sauces. My favorite sauce is the spicy parmesan garlic. Definitely recommend trying if you're looking for good wings. Do NOT order any red meat from this place. I've ordered burgers multiple times in hopes it was just a certain batch that was bad...it's not, their burgers are just made of poor quality meat. This last time I decided to order a french dip; it was the absolute worst french dip I've ever had. The meat was so grisly and bad, it tasted disgusting so I had to order a different meal. This is Nebraska...it shouldn't be hard to obtain high quality cow. The food that is good is garlic cheese bread (appetizer), grilled cheese, and their beer battered fries. Their chicken fingers are okay, but any of the fast food chicken places around are way better for the same price. I'm not a wings person, so I've never tried those.
