Came in here, a few weeks back for dinner with some friends. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, so we could not take advantage of their really cool looking balcony. From the beginning, our server was very attentive and walked us through the menu. She gave us several suggestions on dishes to order that would complement each other. Also strongly recommend or during the chips; everyone's food will come out as it is made, so it's nice to have something for everyone to share to begin with. Interior was really neat, and the music was not too loud or too quiet either which I always appreciate. We had several appetizer dishes, as well as the arroz Mariscos. The only thing I did not like about this place was that the food all came out a different times. The other couple that we were with had several of their dishes before we had anything. We did order chips to split at the table, so it's not like we had nothing to eat, but I feel like when restaurants bring things out as they are made, it lends to a weird dynamic between two different couples if you were ordering together. That being said, our food came out not too terribly long after the other couple's. Overall, great time here, and delicious food. Would happily come back!
Located on the rooftop, dining inside or out is perfect on the second floor. This is one of my favorite places for brunch. The pink vine flowers hanging from the ceiling add a colorful summer or outdoor atmosphere. The peruvian food is very distinctive. The music is very lively. The rooftop bar is perfect for a drinking al fresco.
My friend chose Tanta for Restaurant Week 2026 dinner and I'm glad she did! Really good Peruvian food & drinks. We had a reservation and they seated us right away - it's always a little tough to rate service during RW because it's usually quite busy and not a typical night but all the servers were very nice, we just had a slow start and there were a few times we were missing silverware but not a big deal. To start, I was glad to see they also had a pisco sour flight deal for RW and that was a big yes for me. It was fun to try the different flavors, but the classic was my favorite. I also tried a sip of my friend's guava cocktail, which was very tasty too. For food, they offered 4 courses starting with shrimp ceviche, which was *mwah* chefs kiss. Followed by the duck dumplings, which I also really enjoyed. I did not care for the fish katsu main but that probably comes down to personal tastes as it was overwhelmingly too tomato-y for me. However, redemption was served in the form of the lucuma brownie for dessert. We also ordered the octopus for the table to split and it was plated beautifully and cooked perfectly! There were many ingredients in the dishes I had not heard of or tasted before, which made this a unique dining experience. I would happily return to try more of their regular menu, and definitely recommend if you like Peruvian food. Just note $$ can add up quickly if you're ordering multiple dishes and drinks. And at least on a weekend night, music is a little loud and ambiance is quite lively. Cheers!
Tanta offers authentic Peruvian dishes and drinks with a great menu. Offering a variety from the Peruvian liquor pisco, ceviche, empanadas, and other authentic dishes. A very warm and vibrant atmosphere that has colorful decor. We had reservations for Sunday morning which I would recommend. The staff and service was great and a great place to go for a special occasion.
Everything goes well at Tanta. Always. You can't go wrong here. That's why I celebrated my birthday there. Everything we ordered was delicious! The flavors the presentation, the atmosphere, the personnel, the food quality is outstanding and the service is on point. We live far away from the city and only have been a few times here but it's only because it's too far from us. I recommend this place.
Came to Tanta with my girlfriend and we had a ball!! The service was immaculate, and drinks were flowing and delicious. Then we had the anticucho de pollo and it was sooo good! I followed that up with the chaufa aeropuerto and baybeeee whew! The rice is perfectly cooked with savory veggies and doused in sweet chili sauce. Love that, it's was so dang good. I'll be back
I love when restaurants offer a tasting menu, it takes thinking out of the equation and lets you sample their best dishes. A couple of months ago, we got to try their summer tasting menu and it was divine. Every course was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and we left with our bellies full and happy. I ordered their birthday special for my daughter and they came out came with a colorful 7-layer cake, sparklers, and sang to her. They even a printed photo of us to take home afterwards. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra memorable. Service was great from hostess to our server and everyone else for that matter! Reservations are necessary. I'd highly recommend sitting on the rooftop if you can, it's such a charming setting with string lights, bougainvillea flowers everywhere, and views of the city. It really adds to the whole experience.
We came here for dinner on a week night. We were going to see if we could get in, luckily they have just a table for us! Once we sat down, we were created by our waiter. He explained that Tanta serves elevated Peruvian cuisine. He gave us the menu, and asked if there is any dietary restriction or allergies (yes, one of us is Celiac). He then explained that most can be modified but not the fried ones due to cross contamination risk. When we placed the order, he was very diligent to note that the dishes should be gluten free. He also came to confirm after checking in with the chef. We did change one dish. First, there's a good list of cocktail, but also spirit free. Both food and drink came out relatively quick. We opted for sharing plates. Everything was flavorful, and cook to perfection. I would recommend to check out Tanta for a special night out or try out Peruvian cuisine. Make sure to talk to your wait staff as they do give good recommendations.
Tanta was an amazing introduction to Peruvian food! We went with a big group and ordered family-style to sample as much as possible--mushrooms, arroz mariscos, broccolini chifero, branzino, churrasco tanta steak, Pulpo Anticuchero, empanadas, steak and chicken skewers, and cebiche. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. For dessert we tried the Amazonian and el choclito (which is cleverly disguised as corn), both of which were creative and delicious. The pisco sours were the perfect accompaniment to the meal. The whole experience was fantastic, and I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu.
Visited Tanta for the first time for restaurant week! The food was absolutely delicious and cozy on a cold night. They offer a coat check at the front hostess stand. We told the server we were tight on time for a show and our food came out quickly. My friend forget her scarf at the table and they called us with a few moments.
This should have been a 5 star review. Lots of part of our experience here for dinner were 5-star caliber. This included the food and drink, the fantastic service by our waiter, Swan, and the ambiance and music. The rooftop experience and the happy hour offers were also nice options. But a few things took away from the overall experience. When we were seated, a woman came to our table - I assume a hostess since she was not dressed like any other staff - and asked us whether we preferred still or sparkling water. Of the options she gave us, we chose still and got bottled Saratoga water. It was only later while we were eating, I noticed everyone at adjacent tables had tap water poured for them by staff. So I asked our server if still and sparkling were our only water options. He said they were not, and regular water should have been offered. I explained we were not given that information, and he removed this from our bill. But I really wish I knew the name of the woman who mislead us about this, I would definitely called her out to management. The other thing was the bussing staff. We were constantly asked if we were done with our plates, even if there was still some portion of food on them. This felt like it was every 60 to 90 seconds. It certainly wasn't for lack of plates in the kitchen, during our 90 minutes (allowed) there on a Friday night, the restaurant was never more than 2/3 full. Would I come back here? Absolutely. And knowing what I know now, next time I'm sure it will be a 5 star experience worthy of an updated review. At least it better be.
Why was this meal SO DANG GOOD. My friend kept hyping it up and I see why. We sat in their newly renovated rooftop which is beautiful by the way. It was a little toasty but still beautiful. Everything was phenomenal! Our fav dishes were the ceviche trio, parmesan scallops, and the lamb chops. BEST ceviche I've had in a long time. The sauce on the scallops is so rich and compliments the scallop. Surprisingly the broccolini was a fan favorite amongst the table too because of the sauce! Everything about our meal was so good and I would recommend this place to everyone!
I came here for happy hour at the bar, having already dined at Astrid y Gascon in Lima and Chicha in Cusco last month. Tanta is their international branch and I am glad they've come to Chicago. The experience did not disappoint. There was space at the rooftop bar when I arrived. I was thankfully out of the sun. It was probably about 86° in the sun :-) I started with the cebiche limeno which is with shrimp and octopus and an empanada carne which is nicely spiced beef in a pastry shell and with huacatay which is a unique herb from Peru (and perhaps other parts). Delicious! I had an old fashioned with a dark spiced rum. Something I had been introduced to on the train between Cusco and Puno. It was good but then I saw they had Diplomatico so for my next one I switched to that. Try it! The Bartenders are solid people, interested that you're enjoying yourself and what you're eating and drinking. And ready to make suggestions It's not just about alcohol as the first thing they did was serve me a glass of water and leave me a small bottle they kept filled. Once my friend arrived, he has the cebiche Classico with the catch of the day. I forget the name of the fish. It may have been mackerel. The large kernels of choclo provide a nice counterpoint to the fish. The lime juice is not too acidic in the leche de tigre. We had more to eat and drink in the merry company of others at the bar. The outdoor lights provided a twinkling as night fell and diners filled the tables. Being outdoors meant this old man could hear himself talk. I like the small plates concept on the whole. But I will be back for their brunch and their celebration of Peru's independence day. Check out their evening and weekend events.
Apaltado ($22): Delicious and fresh-tasting salmon. Sauce was very good. They gave a fair amount of fish in this dish. Limeno ($28): Honestly, pretty expensive for what it is. It's good ceviche, but not amazing. Empanada Tasting Trio ($24): I saw a lot of reviews raving about the empanadas, but I thought they were both overpriced and average-tasting. Service was not great. Our server seemed very uninterested in us and barely checked up on us. We had to try hard to flag her down. She barely said anything to us when we left. read more
Came for restaurant week but was more interested in the main menu so did a lil pivot! Enjoyed the Pisco sour and nigiri trio - some of the best sushi I've ever had! - and empanada. Have been wanting to go here for a long time, but waited for a special occasion because it was a bit out of the budget at that time. We had reservations for Saturday dinner, and were super glad to have booked ahead of time (huuuuuuuge line when we were leaving). As usual, I had already scoured the menu every day up until then, so we pretty much knew what to order. Our waiter was very nice in explaining every section of the menu though as it was our first time and also lots of unfamiliar words on the menu! For the amount of people in the restaurant, it wasn't too loud, and we sat comfortably at a normal table to the side. Food: Empanada trio: 11/10 The flaky crust gets me every time. In all honesty, the corn empanada was our favorite item of the entire meal! I'd definitely pick up a bunch of those to go someday in the future. Lomo saltado: This was pretty good! There was nothing wrong with it, but I think we were so full by the time we got to it that we couldn't fully enjoy it. The veggies in the dish were really nice though, I liked having the onions to break up some of the salt! Salmon belly nigiri: Definitely not your average nigiri! I wasn't a huge fan of this one, but it was mostly because it was an unexpected flavor and texture as opposed to something being "off". I'd try it again knowing what to expect haha! It's not often that I give a five star review. But this place absolutely deserves it. Everything from the food to the ambiance to the service was top notch. The place is modern and relatively small, although they have an upstairs for extra space. There are colorful murals in the walls and Spanish music playing but not too loud that you can't converse. The place has a modern Latin vibe. We had a 7:15 reservation but we're running late. Tried calling but they must have been busy as we couldn't get a hold of the host until after we parked. We also left a note on open table and to our surprise, they received the note and held the table. We were seated at a two person high table. The manager came over and went over the menu. He gave us recommendation and helped us with our questions. This was nice because it's the first time at a Peruvian restaurant. Then out waiter came over and made recommendations as well. For drinks both the el chingon and pisco sour. both were really good but just a heads up both are made with a Smokey alcohol. So if that's not you're thing try something else on the menu. For appetizer the Cebiche trio was a big hit. It comes with three different tastings. One with whitefish, one with shrimp and octopus and one with tuna. Each are seasoned a little different, the tuna is with sweet sauce, more akin to a poke bowl but the other two are more on the spicy side. All three were amazing, and must try if you like seafood. For entrees we got the Lomo Saltado (beef tenderloin) and the Chaufa Aueropureto ( fried rice with pork and shrimp). The Lomo Saltado was really tender and the sauce was really good, comes with potatoes. The fried rice was some of the best I've had, I had no idea Peru had fried rice like this, wheee have you been all my life? Overall the entire experience with great and I can't wait to go back and try some more plates. If you're in the fence about Tanta just go, you could do a lot worse trust me... read more

To celebrate our anniversary, my partner and I chose Tanta for dinner and absolutely loved it. Gaston is a well respected chef in Peru so we knew we were in for a treat. We started with tiradito maracuya and ceviche clásico. Both delicious. Ceviche never fails and the tiradito was wonderful. I had a maracuya pisco sour which was great but I think I prefer the OG! For my entree I had lomo and it was SO good. The filet was perfect. So melt in your mouth. Of course the sauce was just perfection with the perfect amount of sour. My partner had a Nikkei-style salmon entree. He loved it. We finished off with a few more cocktails and mocktails. Service was great. Very knowledgable and attentive staff. Beautiful space and water is refilled frequently. Now please add ají de gallina to the menu. ;) read more

You guys...this is my favorite new restaurant!!? I am still dreaming of the ceviche (so fresh, tangy, perfect temperature, balanced mouthfeel and texture, everything you could ever want in a ceviche) Ordered the lomo saltado as recommended by my coworker who used to work in Lima and it was AMAZING. The potato wedges were crispy despite being covered in the rich sauce and the meat /flavor was 10/10...basically please order this! I thought the pastel de choclo (corn cake) was okay (albeit I'm not a huge fan of corn cake) and the arroz Mariano's was good but didn't taste as distinctive as the other dishes. This was my first time trying peruvian food and I was so impressed. We went with a small group and the service was great. We had several diners with dietary restrictions (dairy free, gluten free), and the server was so accommodating and helpful. The vibes in the restaurant are fun and chatty and I definitely recommend for a group of friends or family. I will definitely be back soon! read more
Peruvian food has to be one of my favssss. We tried the classic ceviche, lomo saltado, plantain chips, apaltado, and yuca fries. Everything was sooo good but would skip on the fries next time lol. The lomo saltado was so tender and flavorful. Yummyyy. I do wish the fries in that were crisper. The apaltado was also a fav for me since I love salmon and the sauce it comes in is very delicious!!! Everything is a lil pricey but overall really good food. I would come back to try more of their menu!!! read more

Ambiance: really fun and colorful. Loved the interior deco - great place to get dinner with a group of friends. Servers were super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu (ours gave us a pretty thorough rundown of the food since we weren't familiar with Peruvian cuisine. Food: Empanada trio [4/5]: loved the chicken empanadas and honestly next time, i'd just get these instead. They kind of reminded me of and tasted like samosas with a hint of hmm curry? All the empanadas were super crispy and juicy, though I think my least favorite were the beef ones. The sauce just wasn't up my alley - hard to describe but tasted like beefy marinara? Loved the veggie one however - super fresh and clean and a good change from all the oil and fat. Garden [3.5/5]: interesting. I liked the whipped potatoes but wasn't a fan of the beet salad - tasted very grassy imo. The server said this was a must get, and maybe it is quite traditional but I'd take a pass. Nigiri [4/5]: always love salmon belly, super yummy though this definitely was not what I had in mind for ceviche (it was listed under the ceviche section of the menu) Dessert [4/5]: I forget what this was called but it was coconut mousse/pannacotta like texture with mango puree and raspberries and it was soo delish. It was busy and loud inside. Seemed like a popular place to be at on a Sunday evening. I checked this place out because a friend highly recommended the pobre nigiri and pisco sour. I'm so happy I tried the pobre nigiri because I absolutely loved it! I've never had something like that before. It melted in my mouth. The pisco sour had an interesting flavor and texture. Came here to celebrate my birthday with a couple friends. I would say that the quantity per dish served definitely exceeded my expectations especially for the price. I mean just take a look at the chicken combo picture attached. Appetizers were the right amount to split between 6 people. The ceviches were rich and fresh in taste but my favorite is the pulpo or octopus dish. For my first time trying Peruvian food it was certainly exquisite. My only complaint is that the bathroom had piss all over the floors and would've appreciated a bit of cleaning. read more
This place is pretty cool. Pretty easy to find once you know where it's at. Parking is tough unless you go to paid parking garage but it pretty expensive. We paid $58.00 but it's Chicago. The place is very clean and welcoming. Food was excellent. All kinds of mouth watering flavors. The food presentation was excellent The waiter was okay but not very personable. My favorite was the Ceviche Trio. In my opinion was worth the $52.00. The restrooms were very clean. For a Sunday it was not busy at all. Our total bill was $255.90 for a party of 4 and that only had one alcoholic drink. So this place is alittle on the pricey side. Would I come again. The answer is say yes but only for a special occasion. read more
Food was amazing! Lots of shareable items so we plug it all. Of the empanada trio, the avocado was my fav followed by the beef and then the chicken. The steak and eggs was so good and unique. The sauce and polenta made it even better. Not pictures is the broccolini! It was perfectly tender and also had an incredible sauce. Having heard a lot of positive things about Tanta, it's been on my to-try list for a while. I got the opportunity to come and try a variety of items during restaurant week this year. Overall the food is well-executed, but unfortunately I think I just don't like the flavors too much. The cebiche clasico was good and the fish tasted fresh. There were a lot of other vegetables on the side which didn't add much to the dish. My favorite dish of the night was the pulpo. Even though it looked very charred (basically burnt), it was perfectly cooked on the inside and the char ended up giving it a great flavor. The pork dish I got (don't remember what it's called) had a sweetness to it which I do not like. It was a strange flavor for me. Dessert was chocolatey and potatoey. I kinda liked it, actually. Don't know if I'd intentionally seek it out but would definitely eat again. Service was fine, my friend and I didn't really need any special attention. The upstairs area in which we sat was really dark and that made it hard to see the food. When my phone camera struggles to pick up the food's details, that's when mood lighting has gone too far. Their outdoor section looked nice though? Looking at their regular menu, the prices are high for what you get. Even though I didn't love the food, I'm still glad I got to try Tanta during restaurant week and would consider trying other items on their menu in the future. Must have empanadas and picarones (sweet potato donuts). Everything else quite solid. Empanadas Variety - 5/5. All 3 of the empanadas were spectacular in different ways. The chicken had lovely complex, homey flavor. The veggie a lovely sauce. And the beef was more moist and succulent. I'd be sad if I never had these again. Picarones - 5/5. Something about this stole my heart. The donuts have a decent savory flavor on their own, but to me the molasses syrup is the star. Lovely balance of sour and sweet. Chica Morada - 4/5. Tasty mocktail, light and refreshing Pisco Sour - 4/5. Relaxing, delightfully smooth. Avocado Toast - 3.5/5. Generous avocado portion. Well poached egg. But the burrata and Texas Toast both take the dish in different directions that don't come together for me. read more

We stopped by during happy hour for drinks & appetizers. They have a small HH menu but w some decent choices. Drinks we had the Prickly pear margarita , it was great, nice taste & decent amount of alcohol. On the appetizer we got Empanada de tamal , nice big empanada this was different which was a good different it was good. Next the Tequeño de pollo , these were very good. Also got the Chiccharron de pollo , fried pieces of chicken had good flavor to the chicken great w the sweet chili dipping sauce & last but certainly not least was the Boliyucas yummm these were so good love me a good yuca treat & these did not disappoint. Nice place, nicely decorated service at he bar was good, nice happy hour specials so the prices were great we enjoyed our HH drinks & appetizers. read more
Tanta was an absolutely great experience from the beginning to the end. The restaurant is so vibrant with all the graffiti and decorations, filled with good mood and great food, only makes me thinking of coming back again. Their menu contain lots of options and its mostly meant to be shared with diners. Our server Oscar was just great and explained everything to us precisely. Cebiche Trio-great way of tasting all ceviches , Classico, Limeno, and Nikkei. All of them were so refreshing and delicious, hard to say which one was my favorite one. Corazon--tender veal hearts served with aioli. I always search for something very genuine if it comes to food and that was definitely it. Tender, steak like flavor, definitely a must. Octopus--very big fan of all octopus dishes here. Octopus was delicious, very tender but not on my top list, was lacking that spicy--citrusy kick maybe?? Otherwise very delectable. Pescado Nikkei--whole Sea Bass , deboned, deep fried, served with sweet chili sauce and bok choy. It was delicious to the last bite. Its perfect to share among three people. Rose--this dessert was a great accompaniment to the whole dinner, subtle, not to sweet. We took a bottle of very good Albarino and some drinks which were perfect. I thought this place was okay. The service was really good, and we had reservations to sit on the rooftop, which was nice. The vibe of the restaurant was fine, but the food and drinks were pretty underwhelming. The person I was with didn't enjoy their meal at all. I'd say it's a decent spot to stop by for a drink on the rooftop--I've also heard their breakfast is good--but dinner wasn't my favorite. read more

I love this place. I've been wanting to try different Peruvian foods since my coworker put me on causa. And what better time to try it than restaurant week! I came here on a Monday evening and wow this place was busy! It does get loud but we were still able to hear each other. Very simple decorations inside. Our waiter was so sweet and bubbly but the host that seated us could barely give us a smile (everyone has their bad days so that's fine). I got the ceviche which was so delicious and so much seafood I was surprised. My husband got the chalaco which whatever the sauce was at the bottom really brought everything together. Just wished there was more fish in that one. Then we all got the causa because I've been hyping it up since I've tried the homemade one from my coworker and it lived up the hype! I got the chicken and rice for my entree and the rice was so flavorful. And my husband got the pork which he loved. Ask for aji sauces!!! We're such spicy people we loved it. For dessert I got the sorbet since I'm not a cheesecake girl but husband loved how creamy it was! The drinks were also soo so strong! Definitely need to come back here. read more

Thank you Tanta Chicago for making our son's graduation celebration so fabulous. Paulo patiently and graciously helped us choose a delicious Peruvian meal and we loved the food. We really appreciated the way they kept his grad celebration cake we had delivered from a nearby bakery a surprise and shared in our fun. It was perfect. Our grad loves Peru and the night was perfect! read more
Good vibes, love a rooftop, love some drinkies and cozy food. Steak and potatoes and empanadas will do the trick. I have not had that many lomo saltados in my day, I must admit, but I do enjoy this one. There are usually reservations available and the roof is nice, good vibes, especially when the weather is nice of course. read more
The food was very good here! I was in town for the Beyoncé concert and stumbled in because my hotel was around the corner. After a few hours walking and seeing sights I worked up an appetite.. I didn't have a reservation and was seated at the bar with no issue. The issue came into play with the service at the bar. I wasn't offered a menu, I had to ask for one. I wasn't asked to take my order I had to start asking questions. When I asked the bartender about a salad he said there's only the salads you see here. After about ten mins looking over the menu myself I found a totally different salad option & ordered it. I had to ask for silverware as well as the check when done. I wasn't tended to in the least bit. The bartender seemed pre-occupied with training someone new and also the guest who came and sat next to me after I was seated. Smh customer service was a 2 but food was definitely a 8.5. Very well seasoned and plentiful. The sangria was a hard pass but the menu offers an array of other drinks you can try. I try to spend my hard earned money in places I'm appreciated, it sucks visiting a new city and being acknowledged as an invisible person. read more

I last went to this place 2 years ago and it was a lot better than my experience this time around. The food was OK but overall frankly quite disappointing. The only highlight was the Wagyu sushi with quail egg, but the octopus was overcooked and a bit dry and chewy. The apaltado (salmon sashimi with tapioca rice cracker and avocado sauce) was overpowered by the avocado sauce. The fried rice and taro chips were both very average. I'm giving it a two star because I've had way better Mediterranean food in Chicago and I truly cannot recommend this place. In terms of ambience, the chair was falling apart, and they just need to renovate this place a bit more . Service was slightly above average, but food is the most important thing. Until I've heard better reviews, I won't be revisiting Tanya anytime soon. I'm not sure what changed from 2 years ago, but I hope the restaurant management/chef sits down and re-evaluate their dishes honestly. read more

I had never really tried Peruvian food before so Tanta was a good start. I was really craving seafood which is what most of the menu entails. I ordered the ceviche and rice with mariscos. Both dishes were very flavorful and the fish was fresh. I really enjoyed the octopus in particular. The portion sizes are fairly small for the price. I also did not like that our waiter tried to finesse us by bringing the side of chips with our ceviche which he made it seem like it was included and then I ended up being charged for it. I didn't order this so I felt like that was wrong of him to do since he made it seem like it was provided but it actually wasn't. Thankfully he understood and removed it from the bill but that is something to beware of when you come eat here. Overall vibes were good but there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that are more fun. read more

Outstanding Peruvian meal. We had the ceviche trio, the whipped potatoes with crab salad, the grilled octopus, and the wagyu nigiri. The ceviche and octopus were the best we've ever had. The service was amazing, with waiters refilling our glasses of water constantly on the hot day. What a beautiful meal - can't wait to return. read more
First time! I had high hopes but sadly the food was just average. Empanadas - we ordered a sampler of three different types but two of them were definitely the same. I let the server know and it took him some time to believe me - at first he made me look kinda dumb but luckily I know my meats and vegetables and persisted. Later he apologized and brought out the right empanada. Nigiri el pobre - the meat was so tough. Could have selected a combo with brighter flavors to balance the heaviness of the meat and egg. Ceviche and the rice dish was good. Standard. Passion fruit dessert was probably the best thing we ordered. Light and tangy and the perfect size. Everything we had here was great from the cocktail to the cebiche. When we walked up, I thought it looked familiar and it ends up this was my second time here! The arroz mariscos was really good. Great flavor, not too heavy but I would have liked a little more seafood. I think it had 4 clams, 4 slices of octopus, 5 shrimp, and honestly can't remember what else. Mostly rice and given the price, slightly leaving more to be desired. Service was okay. We had to flag down the waiter instead of him coming to our table like he did with other patrons. Maybe it's just because we weren't dressed accordingly so he assumed things, who knows. Both things were minor issues and I would definitely come back but likely would try other places before. Amazing Peruvian experience offered by super friendly staff, fresh ceviche, and bright ambience. The Pisco Sour is a must! Fish in the ceviche was fresh and the spices in the food in general were on point. Really wholesome to share it with your people family-style. read more

Amazing service, stellar eats & a cool vibe makes for a 5 out of 5! My husband made reservations for my 35th birthday dinner and I was so proud of his research and selection. Reservations were limited when he made them a week prior but they were able to seat us at a table. I had their chica morada which was one of the best I've ever had (non alcoholic drink). We shared 3 plates: the empanadas sampler, the calamari/shrimp/fish appetizer, & lomo saltado. It was a lot of food for us two so we had to take some of it to go. Every bite was just scrumptious. The service was wonderful and attentive. Highly recommended! read more

Do they offer the tanta experience prefix every night or is it just one day out of the week?
When we went a couple of weeks ago, it was in the everyday menu. It is realy worth it, great experience, as in any of Gaston's restaurants. It was a lot food for two at a great price.

No, the lunch and dinner menu are slightly different.
What is the dress code?
Anything goes. Chicago is a very casual town, as most places are these days.
