I found Tao through Classpass, and so happy I did! I have a lot of Classpass points to use up before the end of my current cycle, and thought I'd use it on a massage! My boyfriend and I came here for 30-minute massages yesterday, and we both had a wonderful 5 star experience from Yves! He was so sweet & welcoming, and fulfilling to our needs (we both have issues with neck, shoulders, and lower-back). We will be returning customers, and maybe try the sauna or float experience next time, too. These ladies never fail me! Their approach to skin care is second-to-none and worth every penny, and they offer many promotions as well that are thoughtful and well worth taking advantage of. What's more? They are conversant and knowledgeable about what they do, and help you know how to best care for your skin between sessions. I have absolutely no idea what Kate F. is talking about in her review. The vibe is relaxing, warm and welcoming at Tao. As a repeat customer, I am shocked by the sheer inaccuracy of her review. I advise ignoring it. Kimmie is wonderful, and so is Amber - my skin is positively glowing after just seeing her for a microdermabrasion - but you can't go wrong with anyone among their staff. I always go out of my way to stop here for a massage and a float if at all possible when I am in the area. I have had hundreds of massages over the years at many, many establishments(including places like Hawaii and large elaborate spas), and Tao is my favorite, hands down. The staff are all so incredibly welcoming and talented. I've never had a bad experience here. The facilities are impeccably clean and comfortable. Candice did a fantastic job at my ashiastu massage, she applied form pressure and her transitions from one movement to the next were excellent. Everything was very sanitary here and very professional. I plan to come back. Only knock I could find would be the cost as it's 110+ for a 1 hour massage. Very nice massage place, that also has a sensory deprivation float tank. Friendly nice service. Very calming atmosphere. Wifey loved her massage. I did the float tank, it was a cool experience. Very relaxing. Like floating in outer space. It was surprisingly un-claustrophobic, the water has extra buoyancy because of the super saturation of Epsom salts. they have a little light in there, when you close the hatch, the light is on, and you can reach up and turn it out. The neck pillow was helpful. My one gripe is that the liquids in the the shower afterwards were not labeled, so I didn't know what was soap, conditioner, or body wash. When I saw the reviews for this place as well as the location I figured it was pricey. Wrong! prices were in line with any other spa yet the service was that of some super expensive spa resort or something. We had an appointment for a couples massage at 3:45. I got a call about 3 from the nicest woman apologizing that the couple before us showed up late and they were running behind. 15 mins big deal but we sure appreciated the heads up. Umberto and Andres did an amazing job, we each had a little meeting before starting so they could make sure to customize the massage for us. There is a 100% chance we will be back. read more

I have been going to Tao Massage for about 7 years. I've had massages by Vivian and more recently, Candice. Vivian is phenomenal!!!! She is kind, caring, sweet, warm, and very skilled. I've had many massages from Vivian (Ashiatsu) and she is incredible, to say the very least!!! I have had 2 massages from Candice (one Ashiatsu and one DEEP Intense Relief Therapy). Everything was perfect and they accommodated us even though I was late and missed my reflexology appointment. They moved it around to after our couples massage (while bc was in tank) so I could still have it. Boyfriend felt like a million bucks after everything. After many months of intense training, muscles get tight. Apparently I'd rather get walked on than use a foam roller. Vivian went above and beyond making me feel like a valued customer. Kind and thoughtful, I was impressed with Vivian's pre-appointment contact and follow-up note after my visit. A phone consult describing Ashiatsu massage, a new experience for me, and providing options for which products would be used during the massage instilled confidence I had chosen the right place. She showed an exemplary level of professionalism, care, and attention to detail. The massage itself was great - 10/10, would get heeled again. If you're the type who has taken an elbow to your obstinate knots and felt like more pressure would be euphoric, the Ashi fulfilled that wish for me. That's not to say I would call the IT band manipulation the most pleasant experience I've ever had on the table, but I keep my expectations realistic when a therapist is digging through stubborn tissue: love-hate. Even so, any discomfort was soon forgotten because Vivian was receptive to feedback and a skilled conversationalist. (I recently bought one of the books she talked up during the session for summer reading.) It's one thing to leave a review after your first appointment. I picked this location solely on Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed! We had an appointment for a couples massage, my boyfriend loves his as did I. Umberto was FANTASTIC. He took time to speak with me about my concerns beforehand and he gave me the most in depth and restorative massage I've ever had. I have chronic back pain and tightness from my years of doing Aerial Silks and he worked on muscles I didn't even realize needed attention. Also, the customer service is on point. Tao is an oasis in this hectic world. I've been twice (once for the float tank and again for the tuning fork therapy). Both sessions were heavenly. Tao is the real deal. I've been several times for massages and to relax in the float tank and have always been blown away. Most recently, Vivian arranged spa services for my wedding weekend at the incredible Asbury Park Inn. Umberto came to the Inn and provided half hour massages (which were probably more like 45 minutes) to each member of my wedding party. We sat around in luxurious Tao robes and drank mimosas, and the look of blissed-out relaxation on each person's face as they returned to the group was priceless. Beautiful experience at Tao spa in Asbury Park. I started with the Float bath which was wonderfully relaxing and healing and then I had an incredible one hour massage. I can't remember the name of it but it is the one where the therapist uses her feet. I will definitly have this again. The spa is beautifully designed and has a wonderful energy. Having received well over 200 massages on 5 continents, I consider myself a bit of a massage connoisseur. I booked the 60 min float/60 min massage package at Tao, and highly recommend it. The float was a unique experience--trippy and incredibly relaxing/rejuvenating once I actually relax--but the massage from Andreas was, well, review-worthy. Andreas is unequivocally the real deal, and I'm now a regular customer of his. He's fluent in so many different styles and, for lack of a better word, experiences. As an example, he gave me (the hard-nosed critic) and my roommate (a massage virgin) completely different but equally relaxing and productive sessions. Mine involved more neuromuscular and targeted therapeutic stuff, and her's was more of an introductory, all-over situation. He's a very chill, normal guy, and I think he could make anyone feel comfortable (as opposed to awkward) on the table. Impeccable massage. FIVE STARS. read more

Welcoming, clean and professional, starting with Peggy at the reception who guided me to the perfect series of treatments I booked for the 3 days I was in Asbury. Vivian's cupping massage was a first for me and I loved it. She was so thorough, gentle and effective perfect for my detox. I also enjoyed their infra red sauna because I could leave my head exposed as I'm prone to claustrophobia so I had a great session. Andreas massage will remain one of the best in my memory as his pressure was just enough to work out the kinks without creating new ones. Healing yet relaxing, he knows his trade. I finished with Julie's Anti-aging Glow with no-tox facial lifting & draining and it really did years off my age and made me love my skin again. The prices are fair the experience very rewarding.
