I have loved every experience I've had here but today I had Jason and I am beyond grateful. All day yesterday I was knocked off my feet with chronic pain. The massage was good and facility very clean however the environment was nothing but relaxing. It was so noisy in the salon that you couldn't relax AT ALL. It's quite ironic as they have a "no cell phones" policy posted but the front desk gentleman was taking calls all on speaker phone and the staff was loudly talking. We asked twice for the noise to calm down but it was ignored. The rare place I've gone back to in a week for my second massage! Jane at the reception recognized me from my previous visit and thanked me for my review on Yelp. My therapist this time was Linda who again had very minimal knowledge of English. We barely spoke other than me indicating if her pressure was too much, but she was amazing. I've had several experiences at union square foot body massage. The prices are fair but service is inconsistent. The massage therapist are lazy. There was this one time I gave the therapist a 15% tip and she said "did I not do a good job" - she was implying that she deserved more. She provided a terrible foot massage. In reality I should have given her 0% tip. The owner also brings her dog in so beware if you have an allergy or do you not like animals. There are cameras everywhere so just know you are being watched whenever Jane is not around. read more

Pretty sure my dude was brand new- or poorly trained and just was rubbing lotion up and down my legs. Barely any actual reflexology was done. It was also hard to concentrate when I could hear my masseuse talking and laughing with the other masseuse next to him even when I had headphones on. Also my sisters and I clearly stated we wanted 30 minute sessions. After we recieved our massages she told us we owe for an hour. We were never asked if we wanted a full hour! The owner lady seemed very annoyed that we refused to pay for a full hour since that isn't what we asked for. She slammed my card down back at me. She also charged us 10 dollars extra for using a visa debit card! I have never been charged so much for using a card, especially when our bill was 100 dollars! Such a bummer because The first thing we all said to each other when we were done is wow that was so relaxing can't wait to come back... But once you walk in you'll see that the lighting is dim to help create a tranquil, peaceful environment. Jane at the reception area was so sweet and friendly. My massage therapist was Lisa and she was great. I did an hour massage and truly enjoyed it. Hot stones and a hot towel were both unexpected but much appreciated surprises. I purchased the massage through Groupon, but was told that they price match, which is great. I definitely plan on coming back. The spa was both beautiful and clean. Probably the best deep tissue massage that I have gotten in years. The people are great as well.

I requested an hour and half massage. One hour for your body and 30 minutes on your feet, for as advertised in their brochure for $75.00 + tip. I was asked if I was ok with a male masseuse, for which I replied ok, as long as it is a Sweedish (gentile) massage as opposd to deep tissue massage(very firm). He was anthing but gentile. In the 1.5 hour massage I had to stop him a half dozen times to go gentler.But the other issue was...he did not speak English.C'mon, this is the US. The entire massage was my back, to the point were my spine was aching, for he was redundant in the same area, over and over again.Finally, I had to ask him to relocate his hands away from my aching spine. Foot massage a promised 1/2 hour.I was lucky if I received 10 minutes. But the straw that broke the camels back for me is, if you pay cash, there is no tax.Also, it was clearly advertised in their printed brochure stating $75.00. When I went to pay her the $75.00, she responded its $80.00 +tip. In summary, if your thinking about USFBM, I say run don't walk away. For they are very misleading in every facet of their offering!! I had been here a few times in the past for foot rubs. In years past, it was great with a foot soak, shoulder rub, eye mask, noise canceling headphones, a warm blanket, etc. NOT ANYMORE! After my visit today , I will not be returning. Everything I mentioned above from visits past are no longer offered. The guy that did my massage was totally winging it. No technique or consistency. Not sure he had ever given a foot rub before. It was actually painful at times! At the end, they told me it's a 10% credit card fee. THATS CRAZY! I'm not so sure they are all even licensed. I've gone there at times and gotten an incredible massage but more times then not, I've gotten a very inconsistent massage. This time I had an hour and they did only the back of my body. The woman did my left side without any structure. Back, arms, head (like she was wringing out a mop) arms, top of leg, back to foot then ass. Yes. ASS. She spent an incredible amount of time on my ass. Not really a massage of any sort. More like a rub. Then it was my right side time. She started on my head and her nails were digging into me. Then my feet, ass again, hand back, top of leg and up to my right arm. Totally missed the right side of my back. Then I heard a whisper from someone who said "rock". I am left in the room and suddenly I have two blazing hot rocks on my back. So hot that the person doing my massage left them there and got a towel to knock them off of. Then she taps my back and says we are done. Ummm. Ok. Thanks I guess. I give my debit card and they point to the atm and want cash. I decided on cash so I can just get out of there. I didn't use the atm and left a $10 tip. The guy then says it was an extra $5 because I had lavender oil. I don't know what lavender smells like but I didn't smell anything. Ok. See ya. Need a new spot next time. Too inconsistent. I haven't even made an appointment here and I already have such a bad taste in mouth that I won't. I received a Groupon as a gift. I haven't ever heard of this place, so I did some research before calling to schedule an appointment. I have worked for years in the industry (I work in Advanced Aesthetics now) so I know to use my Groupon on weekdays/ not weekends and not holidays. I get it. I don't purchase Groupons but this was a gift that I figured I would redeem. Who knows? Maybe I'd love the place and they would get my business? My clients business, my friends and families business. I spoke with a woman that was highly unprofessional. She asked whether my gift was a gift or Groupon? Then refused to make me an appointment. She kept saying : "Monday through Friday" and I explained that I would like to make an appointment for next Monday and she said "you can call the night before or whatever" and wouldn't make an appointment. They have a 24 hour cancellation policy, so how does that even work? Do I just call every night before hoping they feel like making my appointment? If you are offering groupon you shouldn't be shaming the people that try to redeem them. I saw other reviewers with the same complaint and I'm so aggravated that this is the situation. How embarrassing for the person that tried to give me a nice gift to learn that I can't even redeem it. Who would want to go to a place that makes you feel like crap before you even show up? I'll be contacting Groupon to report this and demand a refund. You can easily get a massage at a million other places locally for under $100. This place is the real deal - a slice of heaven on earth. Clean, relaxing, and professional. I was here back in June and again this week for a 90 minute reflexology session. From the moment I walked in (both times) I was greeted with a smile, and felt immediately relaxed. I sat on the ottoman, soaking my feet, while i received a wonderful neck and shoulder massage. I have no idea how long it lasted, but I'd guess 15 minutes. Then I pivoted around and sat on one of the big, comfy chairs that they have. I was offered an eye mask, a blanket, and new this time - I was offered headphones, which played relaxing music. I think this is new since I was there last and it's a great addition. They distract you from the little bit of background noise, or when someone is walking nearby. The foot (and half leg) massage is better than anything I've ever had in a high end spa, like the Doral or Canyon Ranch for example and the price point is much more reasonable.
