They are too busy to keep you as a patient and do not care to keep you around. I was recommended to get a cleaning sooner than my yearly. I scheduled it as I was sitting in the chair with my hygienist. she even said she would be the one to clean my teeth that date. When the time came they texted me a day before saying there will not be anyone here to clean your teeth, and that I needed to reschedule. The next available date was four months out. It was actually after my next scheduled appointment. I just called to get that date in November rescheduled. They told me the next available date was in April. It will be almost a year since I've gotten my previous cleaning when they suggested I get two cleanings a year. When I told the front desk person that I was upset, she said its ok because there are many other clients. They don't care about you. read more

On 7/725 I went in and had Noah Juedes look at my teeth. We determined I needed crowns on both my front teeth. At that time they gave me a cost of 888.00 after insurance. They even printed out a treatment plan with that amount and had me sign and date the paper. On 7/24 I had work done and got temporary teeth. At check out, the office girls told me the total was 1321.88. a 434.00 dollar difference, on 9/25/25 I received another bill for an additional 586.80. I was ripped off, billing practices are terrible. The young girls there will not help, each time they take money from me its "sorry" and they blame insurance. DO NOT use Taos Dental Group. They are just taking as much money as they can get away with. Billing practices are terrible, people are terrible, communication by the entire staff is terrible. You would think someone would communicate if a bill is going to be 2 grand. They sent me a bill after I was told I was paid in full. If you don't pay it, they just send it to collections. what a rip off, way better dentists in Taos. Wish I had never gone there. I hope this experience with Taos Dental Group is over(unless they decide to send me another bill) What a joke. read more

Last month on a ski trip with family I had a dental emergency when a crown popped off while flossing. I called this dentist & they got me right in the same day. They were so nice, helpful & very knowledgeable. I was treated with the best care & reassured they could most likely use the same crown & reseal it if the x-ray turned out ok & there was no other damage to the tooth itself. After the x-ray they gave me the great news they could indeed reseal the crown! I was in & out of the office within 45 minutes for a small co-pay around $37 as they also happened to be within my dental network! They sent me away with extra gentle floss & instructions for rinsing the area & said to come back if I had any issues at all. They did such a great job I haven't needed to see my primary dentist since returning home! I highly recommend this dental group for any of your needs whether on the local for good oral health or an emergency situation like I experienced. They are awesome!!!!! read more

August 2021 update The tooth I had such trouble with a couple of years ago? The one that Nylund said was just "sensitive?" The one he said he "couldn't do anything else for?" Well that tooth has had an infected nerve this entire time. I just had a root canal and a course of antibiotics by Dr Neimiec and am finally on the road to feeling better. read more

More worried about money than helping someone in need. Only dentist I tried to deal with who refused to take my X-rays from another dentist and the only reason for them to do that is to get more money out of people. My father spent nine months trying to get his dentures in. At one point he called to check on what the hold up was & they told him he needed to go back to have the impressions redone, because they were too old. However, he had just done them two weeks prior! He had to take off work to have them redone. This is nothing more than bad business practice, because they either broke them or lost them & didn't want to admit their error. There is no reason that it should take nine months for anyone to get a set of dentures!! That is gross negligence on behalf of business!! He got nothing but the run around every time he called to see what the delay was & when he could expect them. They would be getting 5 stars if it wasn't for the girls in the office portion and because although nice its not a high end kind of place. Everytime I go through there the attitudes of the ladies up front for check in and check out are short and non welcoming. Everyone else are great doing their jobs with professional enthusiasm and care. Also the office has been unable to obtain my xrays for about 1.5 year period. Even though I have used my last dentist for years and I know they are quick to respond to needs, great front office. You would think that they would just call them directly and make sure its done right there and then as opposed to sending endless faxes or whatever it is that is holding them up. This is by far the most unprofessional dental office I've ever dealt with. Every appointment I have had they are always behind and I end up sitting in the chair waiting forever to have anything start. My partner just had an appointment today at 12:30pm. His teeth have been hurting very badly for awhile now. They had him numbed and drugged by 12:40 and then he sat there for over 2 hours without anything being done! Dr. Noah then rescheduled him without any work being done because Dr. Noah got mad when I started to question when was going on... I believe Dr. Noah and his staff are very neglectful of their patients and all they do is try to push the blame when they get called out. Bad way to do business! read more

Justin Nylund is the worst dentist I've ever been to. Had an extraction over a year ago. Had to go back because I had bone fragments in my gums from the extraction. He said it was a "bone spur". I know the difference. Still "wiggling" fragments from my gums to this day. Don't go to this guy. read more

As an average person with high dental anxiety, I found my experience with the Taos Dental Group to be a very good one. I am new to the area and was unsure what to expect from dentists here. I was referred and told by another patient that I would find a caring group of professionals at the Taos Dental Group. They were not wrong as Dr. Nyland, and his assistant went above and beyond to ensure that I was doing well throughout my crown procedure. I have never had an experience where the dentist and staff cared that much. Usually, after dental work, I end up upset in my car after any procedure. I left this visit feeling very good about the whole experience. I surprisingly find myself planning on further treatments that I have neglected due to my past experiences. I went to Dr. Simms for a second opinion after receiving a $4,500 treatment plan from Judy Anderson. They were able to see me within a week, the receptionist was friendly, Dr.Simms took his time with me and explained my x-rays, took pictures of my mouth and explained all these images as well. He was calm, comforting, and found one cavity (not six), and recommended that I get my wisdom tooth pulled. He was realistic about dental work that I would most likely need "sometime in my life" but did not use scare tactics like Dr. Anderson to get me to do a lot of dental work that I don't need yet or perhaps ever. He was extremely professional. I was not charged for the visit and they were able to schedule me for my filling in a reasonable amount of time. I'm a Dr. Simms devotee now! read more

My family was on vacation last week, visiting from NYC. My teenage daughter had a wire come loose in her braces and even though Taos Dental Group does not have an orthodontist (and neither, apparently, does the whole of Taos!), they told us to come right in. They took us an hour after we called, even though they were clearly busy. A dental assistant was able to maneuver the wire back into place, saving our vacation, and relieving my daughter of her pain. The place was clean and bright and bustling and we are SO GRATEFUL to the practice for their generosity and skill. read more

I was visiting relatives in Taos when the veneer popped off my front tooth on a Friday night, an anxious moment. We called several Taos dentists, none of whom responded. Then I asked for a recommendation from one of the employees of the hotel in which we were staying. She recommended Dr. Simms. He agreed to see me within the hour despite knowing I was just passing through. His office is beautiful. He could not have been nicer or more informative. Dr. Yorkovich is the best!! He's the newest member of the Taos Dental Group, but let me back up. Because of severe pain in my jaw, Dr. Simms (the first two dentists couldn't find anything wrong) said it looked like an inflammation in my jaw bone and recommended an oral surgeon in Santa Fe. I didn't realize it at first, but during the surgery a front tooth was broken. The inflammation, however, had been taken care of. A year later the pain of the broken tooth required extraction and a partial and Dr. Simms recommended Dr. Rory Yorkovich to handle it. He carefully explained the exact procedures that needed to be done and the cost. His manner was very gentle and very caring. I got an estimate from another dentist in Taos but I was not pleased with the way he tried to persuade me to have additional dental work done. I chose Dr. Yorkovich to do the work. And I'm glad I did because he did an excellent job. His main concern was that I be satisfied. A couple adjustments were needed and he fit me into his busy schedule for times when I was going to be in Taos. The staff there is extraordinary as well. read more
