We visited Tapas Brindisa in Richmond for a friday night dinner with my wife's aunt, cousin and his wife who live here in the UK. The food was a truly lovely experience. Located right by the river Thames, it has a fantastic, vibrant atmosphere as the staff was welcoming and service impeccable!
The star of the show without a doubt, was the food. My wife's family ordered a generous spread of tapas and every dish was delicious! The Pollo Moruno was succulent and packed with flavour. The Chorizo al Vino was an absolute standout, rich with a little heat and perfectly cooked. We also had the Pardon Peppers which looked spicy, but were not. The Patatas Bravas, the potatoes had a great crunch and a delicious sauce. The Gambas al Ajillo (garlic shrimp) arrived sizzling in the pan and were deliciously garlicky. The Alubias Ganxet was a delicious bean salad too.
This restaurant is dog friendly! We saw several well behaved pups enjoying the atmosphere with their owners. My wife's cousin had his cockapoo with him sitting beneath his feet, this added to the relaxed, communal feel of the place. It's a rarity to find a restaurant like this that welcomes four legged friends so warmly.
If there was one small point to note, it's the bathroom situation. The restrooms are unisex, with fully enclosed, private stalls shared by all guests. While impeccably clean, it might surprise some diners who prefer traditional separated facilities. It may be a modern approach and I'm OK with the setup, but the U.S. may not be too receiving of this avant-garde mindset.
Overall, Tapas Brindisa delivers on fantastic, authentic Spanish food in a beautiful location. The pet friendly policy is a massive win. It's a perfect spot for a short or long meal with friends, family, and your furry companion. read more
