It's very clearly a bunch of pre cooked rice into which they throw whatever you order. The grilled seafood platters may be your best bet, as a chance to just get a good piece of seafood. That was the only diner at our table who really seemed to enjoy his meal. The place appears to have hundreds of seats and be able to turn tables over really quickly, and their emphasis appears to be strongly on "feed tourists quickly". So why four stars? They do a lot to give you value for money. Just sat down? Free glass of cava. Menu prices, food and drink, emphasize low cost, it's easy to have a ton of food and drink for under 50 Euro. End of the meal? Shot of limoncello-like herbal liqueur. Don't want a whole dessert? Complementary tray of olive oil cake. And a refill on that liqueur. On that basis, it's a pretty good overall dinner experience and we weren't unhappy. Just don't come here if you aren't motivated by alcohol.

They also gave us bread and tomatoes to make our own pan con tomate. Everything tasted very fresh, and it was a nice ambience, in covered open air seating right along the beach. One thing is they also directed a magician to come over at our table to do some tricks, which was very entertaining but not necessarily something we wanted to stay for, but I guess we got the full tourist experience! Overall, a nice spot for a nice dinner.

The foie gras was absolutely unforgettable--rich, delicate, and simply to die for. The sangria was equally exceptional, fresh, balanced, and dangerously delicious. But what makes this place truly special is something that can't be captured on a menu. The atmosphere, the warmth, the way time seems to slow down... words simply can't do it justice. If you're visiting Barcelona, don't just come here for dinner. Come here to fall in love with the food, the city, the moment, or maybe even someone sitting across the table. An experience I'll never forget.

Well, the restaurant was cute and cozy with a great ambiance. With luck on our side, we found two seats at the bar and quickly ordered drinks. We ordered a pitcher of the sangria (because why not?). The sangria was delicious, refreshing, and made to order. It was definitely more authentic than what we're getting in America. We ordered the patatas bravas, tempura asparagus, the octopus, and the steak. It all came out as it became available. We couldn't decide what our favorite was, to be honest. We ordered an ice cream sandwich for dessert and quickly requested our bill. We didn't want to hold the staff up as we noticed they were cleaning the establishment and people were finishing up. Overall, what a great experience for our first meal in Barcelona! Cute and hidden gem.

Mushroom, steak, and egg yolk 9/10: soo flavorful and balance of veggies and protein. Amazing textures and flavors. Sparkling sangria: 8/10 I don't normally live the taste of alcohol but this was great. Not tooooo strong and if tastes pretty good if you mix it with the orange juice. Fresh orange juice: 10/10 so tangy and delicious. I can't recommend it enough. Patatas bravas: 9/10 solid no complaints! Dessert Tapas: - bread dessert (Tarija): 11/10 amazing dessert that is creamy, cameralized, and has a mochi like texture. This fried chewy dessert is not too sweet and such an affordable price. - coconut pudding 9/10 solid and refreshing if you like flan - bread, chocolate oil, salt 7/10: I live the complex flavors. The chocolate mousse was light and the bread to mousse ratio was perfect. It's a smaller dessert tho I wouldn't recommend it if ur sharing. Service: amazing! The feta cheese was absolutely disgusting, it tasted like imitation rubber cheese. - The "Al Ajillo" Style Shrimps (GAMBES AMB ALLADA) had a very strange flavor within it, which overwhelmed the garlic flavors. - The Beef Tenderloin (FILET VEDELLA), she had to spit 1/4 of it out because it was too tough. - Everything was overpriced there for the value. The fried calamari was heavily breaded, the only dish not so excellent unless you like all the breading! The sparkling sangria was very refreshing, if a bit light on the cava. We picked the nice outside that also had shade where we were seated. Our server was a nice older man that was super quick on the drinks and for our offer. Had raw oysters, fried shrimp, tomato bread with anchovies on top, fried oysters, grilled fish, and a seafood plate that was steamed nicely. Maybe one dish I didn't really like was the fried shrimp. My favorite was the grilled fish that had chopped garlic butter on it. I also love the tomato bread with anchovies. Overall I did enjoy this place because everything came out super quick and the food tasted good! I'm surprised at how low the rating is for this place on Yelp. But I would say if you want specific items you should ask the server and that is what we did for our grilled fish and that we were quick on time.

This is one of the most beautifully designed restaurants in Barcelona--fresh, open and cool. The exterior patio overlooking the beach is also gorgeous. We enjoyed a leisurely 3hour lunch and look forward to coming back to Barcelona to eat here. Aside from the outstanding service, which you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber, I'm totally in awe of the food. Each dish is as delightful to your tastebuds as it is artfully displayed. The bomba barcelonet was the bomb--lots of flavor packed into a small ball. The fresh sardines were mild and delightful. The seafood stew and fish filets were also delicious. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and each morsel of food made me gasp with delight. Our son was gracious enough to give me a small sample of the truffle caviar on delicate blinis. We finished our meal with several glasses of toro albalas and a beautiful platter of sweets. Each morsel of food was well worth the calories and price. If you are not looking to eat cheaply, I strongly recommend that you treat yourself to a great meal here.

The hotel that Arola is in offered many different packages for New Year's Eve. We selected the one to have dinner at Arola and then be able to go to the Gala ballroom after midnight. The location was great, food was pretty good (maybe not great because of it being massed produced for the night), and the service was also fair except for the awesome sommelier. The Gala afterwards was also fun with music and open bar. Then why not a higher star rating? Mainly the value for the event, it was expensive for what you got. Also the Gala ended around 2am which usually is plenty late enough for me but in Barcelona on NYE seemed early. Regardless we had a great time!

With all the good foods in Barcelona, this would have been the last place I would have came. The servers barely interacted with us, and rushed the whole dinner. They brought out a potato keish which was pretty bland. Then they brought out some pad Thai looking noodles which was the worst part of the meal; they had no flavor and were so soft.
