I visited as part of one of my friend's bachelorette parties and had a great time. I love the atmosphere, the only light comes from the windows or the lights just above the tables, giving the bar a very cozy and intimate feeling. I would love to go on a date here, I find it to be a very romantic location. Service is fantastic (my friend loves talking to the owners) and decor is beyond gorgeous. There is a glassed-in porch in the front, a main restaurant area in the center and a warm and cozy glass room in the back. It was nicely heated on a cold morning. We had been there a few years ago and were delighted with the food, ambiance and service. That's why our October 2025 visit was so disappointing. Perhaps it is under new management.. Our table was sticky and had crumbs on it, and the restaurant was understaffed. As for the food, the fries for our group were served in one dish, family style. They were limp and tasteless, and while the stoofvlees was tender, the sauce was nothing special. To top it off, we were charged €21.50 for the €13 senior meal we ordered, which we didn't discover until after the bill was paid by a member of the group. He was out €8.50! I do have to compliment the restaurant, though. They refunded the money when informed. The only bright spot was the cappuccino topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Oh, I almost forgot...if you want mayo for your fries or any other sauces, plan to add a surcharge of several euros. It might be okay for a coffee or beer after a walk through Buggenhoutbos, but otherwise, don't stop there.

One even better than the other and non of it was average. They where all just excellent. It's a very small place and tables fill up quickly, so reservations are recommend.
