In order to keep the variety flowing through the taps, the owner rotates the taps every 3 months by state around the Mid Atlantic Region! Very cool! I have been able to try a bunch of different beers this way and kept my Untapped app posts flowing! I visit here just about every time I'm at the marketplace. They always have some beer of interest I will try. Recently I've been getting the hard kombucha, which are fantastic. The cons would be limited seating at the bar during peak hours and inconsistent service. Sometimes you'll get a really friendly bartender who is clearly into beer and helping you make the best choice. Other times you'll get an indifferent bartender who barely takes your order. Either way, I'm there for the good beers and will continue to see what's new when I'm at the marketplace. read more

Cool place to get your drink on while at the Mount Vernon Market. They have lots of beers and ciders on tap that you can get to go in your own container or you can take a glass with you to drink. The woman behind the bar was very friendly and was happy to pour me a sample of various drinks (in adorable mini beer glasses). They also have cocktails if you're not feeling the drafts. Not doing alcohol? No worries! they also have some alcohol free options too. While a few other places in the market have their own drinks, this is always a reliable spot. read more

I did not "order" from here because my girlfriend did that while I was waiting for our pasta across the way. However, I did look at the menu, pick out my drink and drink it, so I can't tell you anything about the service...but I can talk about price and quality. We both got white wine - she got one that was a little more fruity by description, but mine was sweeter. I found that both descriptions were appropriate, and mine was overall more dry, despite being sweeter...which isn't something I'm used to...there is a unique thing going on with that one...I wish I remembered the name now. Both wines were good and neither made us feel like we were breaking the bank to get them. They paired well with pasta from Cucina Al Volo, which is right across the walkway. Wine and Italian always goes well...but there are beers here, too, so you could pair them with the burgers from the burger place or some tacos...so many good places in MVMP and so many drinks here that would pair well with anything. read more

Taps is an oasis of new experiences! As a local, it's easy to think you've tried it all, but I promise you Taps will keep you on your toes. I've been here so many times, and each time I challenge myself to try something new; usually one of their cocktails and a top-selling beer. On this particular trip I had a gin cocktail, I believe, and I ordered fish from Fishnet. Everything came together so well! It's a bar area so it's not a lot of space but you could spread out through the entire market place. If you try something you like, you might want to take it home with you! Other than that, here's why I'm only giving two stars: When we arrived the two people working appeared to be having a domestic dispute, yelling at each other and arguing with each other. Very unprofessional. Then, as I was looking at the menu and ordering the beer flight, all but 10 seconds later I was snapped at by the bartender and told to hurry up and be quicker about my selection. If I can't take ten seconds to look through the list and make my order, then I certainly don't feel like a valued customer and this place doesn't deserve my business. Won't patronize again. Very friendly staff and tasty product! I have had their rosé, Jelly Fish IPA, and homemade vinegar, and have been thoroughly impressed with the quality, price, and deliciousness of each. I am loving the new Mount Vernon Marketplace; it's a perfect addition to the area. The industrial space makes it feel trendy and new, inspiring me to chat with all the owners. On this particular Saturday, we stopped at Taps Fill Station. Mostly cause we were able to snag some space at the bar, their menus are stuck inside current magazines, and you can bring whatever food you want over to the space. There is a marble wall of red and black taps - tons of choices of craft beers, cider, mead, and wine. The choices change with the seasons and the owners heart. I like that you can get a flight and try a few things. We shared a wine flight and a beer flight. The wine flight is basically a 2oz pour of the wines available, plus one of the ciders or meads for a total of 4 pours. They have a ton more beer choices. It will take more than few flights to try them all. These guys also have coffee on nitro and olive oil. Super fun. read more

A frequently rotating selection of local beers served dirt cheap ($4 or $5 will get you a good pour of a local craft beer), and the bartenders are always very friendly and kind. The business cares a lot about their sustainability, and will give you a discount for refills/returns of the aluminum take-away cans. Their selection of beer is great, and the bartenders are always friendly, but also doing their own thing (in a good way). I like their flights, but I think individually, their beverages are just a dollar or two more than I usually pay elsewhere. So instead, I usually end up getting their 33oz (THEY GOT ME), which you can take home. I think you get a few dollars off when you refill it in the same jug and/or return it. read more

This place is really cool. It's towards the back of the market and has a ice chill vibe. I ordered a wine flight. Each glass is served on a slate coster where they write the name of wine for you. Very cute and rustic display. It was neat to see how they fill growlers, they have a machine that removes the head while conserving the beer as well. They also had a few meads/ciders on tap, and a decent wine selection. Some prices were reasonable but others were a little steep. The service was fine -- nothing bad, but nothing to write home about. They also give good advice on food choices in the marketplace as well. Wow. Never have I been to a more unfriendly, unwelcoming establishment. I'm sorry you'd apparently had a boatload of Johns Hopkins students swarming your bar right before I got there and you were overwhelmed with actually having to work. I'm also sorry my boisterous, friendly banter and character were taken out of context and rather as an indication that I was drunk or already had too much (neither being the case). The rudeness of the bartender telling me to look at the menu that "was right in front of me" (which it wasn't) and then her walking away from me THREE TIMES when I DID try to order was taken as reciprocal joking around... until Pillsbury Dutch Boy across the bar started yelling at me in an attempt to make me aware that this bartender maybe should find a different line of work if she can't handle the different types of personalities that frequent places like bars. The bartenders at the the other establishments in the building had no problem joking around and enjoyed my playfulness and busted my balls right back. But, then again, I understood their operation and didn't have to question what the 20 unlabeled taps on the wall were. Hey, I get we all have bad days, but I don't need a bartender with a chip on her shoulder or another customer trying to belittle me and be the big-man in front of her other safe-space friends when I'm legitimately trying to ask for help and actually order. I respectfully followed the bartender's request to leave and tried to apologize if my joking was taken out of context as I did (the others in my party agreed I wasn't in any way offensive, out of line, or over-the-top) yet this other "regular" saw the need to continue the tirade against me and "defend" her bartender friend.
