My husband and I have been weekly customers for as long as they've been open! We come every Monday for trivia (and even host occasionally!) The staff are all lovely humans, the space is welcoming and trendy. I don't really drink much anymore but when I did, I absolutely adored their sour beers! The hostess was amazing! She went out of her way to get a table ready for us downstairs in the dog-friendly zone. It had a firepit on the table but the heat didn't quite reach us and it was such a cold night. We still got to listen to the entertainment. It was like having our own private area, The only part that lost a star rating is making people go inside to order and pay for our order, like cafeteria style. There is only one person taking the orders and it took forever. However, a waitress will bring the food to your table display the large number on a stand, like you would receive in a cafeteria or mall. So weird. The food was MEH, however. The beer was very bitter, not to our liking at all. I just enjoyed the ambience of the place and the friendly staff, just not the way of how to order food. read more

It was a hot day and we needed a beer! Or a flight of beer! Saw this place and decided to try it out! There are 3 areas to sit! Upstairs, with a great view of the marina, the lower section outside is for those with dogs, and then the inside restaurant, also on the main floor. We decided to sit upstairs, plenty of too And seats with covering from the sun, or in it. The staff were very friendly right off the bat, asking us how are day was and if we had any questions about the menu or beers on tap. We just missed happy hour (2-5pm) but that was ok, it was so hot, we weren't too hungry. I had the flight of beers and tried the basic buoy easy drinking pale ale, which was my favorite. The fruity ales were a little too sour and hoppy for my taste. Also tried the basic apple cider and it was really good. My hubby got the slushy Bellini drink on special, and it was really yummy, but quite small. We ordered the po boy fish sandwhich which comes with fries and the Mac and cheese bites The po boy sandwhich was really good and had two good sized sandwhiches from a long baguette. It came with coleslaw, tomatoe and sun dried tomatoe dressing. The fries were hot and crispy! The Mac and cheese bites, oh man! They looked so good, but sadly didn't taste as good as they looked. They needed more of the tomatoe marinara at the bottom, with maybe some more red onion and parmesan cheese to give them more salty goodness. But the crunch of them was awesome! Mac and Cheese bites with a spicy mayo will forever be my fav This place was unassuming but wow! All the food we ate was sooo good! The staff were friendly and super accommodating (my friend is allergic to 90+ things) The Mac and cheese bites were obviously amazing, but so was the banh mi chicken sandwich! I didn't know what to think about banh mi at a brewery but I'm really glad we got it! It was so good and kinda spicy which was nice! We got take out from Tapworks tonight and was disappointed in the service we received. I ordered online and noted on the online form that we have a cilantro allergy for the tacos to cilantro. I called in after I placed the order to make sure it doesn't get missed as my wife is severely allergic and we want to make sure cilantro does not go on the tacos. We confirmed on the phone that it was no problem and that the note on the online order is there. After I picked it up and took it home to eat with the family we notice that cilantro is all over the tacos. Due to it being a sever allergy we can't even pick off each single cilantro leaf off as it's already contaminate, so my wife was not able to eat her meal at all. The food I got was good but the experience was ruined due to the disregard in handling of my wife's meal. We did not contact the restaurant to get a new meal made due to the fact that we've already driven home now and we're not going all the way back for a mistake that could have been easily avoided since we have in two separate ways notify the restaurant of the allergy. read more

My friends were trying to find every brewery in Gibsons so we came across Gibsons Tapworks. You order your food on the ground level and you can either stay there (that's cool) or go upstairs onto the beautiful patio overlooking the water (that's way better). The patio also has a giant connect four game, a pool table, loung chairs, and a fire place for the winter. I tried a few of their beers and settled on their kombucha. It had a light pink colour and with some fruity, sweet notes. It was really relaxing being on the patio and feeling the breeze and sun. read more

This is a great local brewery to stop in if you're in the area. We just came across it while walking through Gibson's Landing. I don't know what the upper levels of the restaurant/bar are like because we just went into the first level room/taproom, where you can buy flights of beer or take growlers to go. I was satisfied with the beer I tried. Out of the four I tried, I preferred the stout. We also tried the pretzel (w/mustard) & landjager sausage, which hit the spot. The sausage was fresh and the pretzel was perfectly baked. It's a brewery tasting room with the typical snack options but the environment is better than other rooms I've visited. It has a view and an in-house fireplace to make it cozy for those cold days. I recommend stopping in here. read more

Was around town and wanted to grab a beer and went to The Mad Hen. They were rude that we decided to leave and not spend there. Especially after having to deal with rudeness on my birthday weekend trip, I so needed a drink so we googled a brewery place and Tapworks pooped up. We didn't try the food although it smelled good. The staff there are very friendly and the crowd there are diverse in ethnicity and very friendly too. It's a dog friendly patio and they have one downstairs and one upstairs. You can also sit inside and have to order everything inside, but they bring it out to you. A few different item for food and some drinks that are not beer (still alcoholic beverages) and some that's non-alcoholic. I really liked their lager and IPA. Their slushie drink with rum, sparking wine, peach is smaller than I expected but delicious. Kombucha is fine but I've had better ones. It's a bit hidden if you don't see it through the houses in front but it's not hard to find. Accessible by bus, walking and some parking spaces right in front. Reasonable prices and chill place to grab a drink and relax or catch up with friends. read more

Full disclaimer, didn't end up eating here. We walked in and weren't greeted by anyone other than a drunk patron pushing by to get into the bathroom (that is immediately next to the front door?), only a few people in the place and staff didn't look up from the counter. We stood there for a moment, looking to see if there was any signage to direct us to a server, or to seat ourselves, but there wasn't anything around. The place was extremely dirty and when we approached staff, one ignored us completely, and the other instructed us that ordering could only be done downstairs, but to eat upstairs, and if we wanted drinks we'd have to come back downstairs and get them. Just a strange atmosphere, nothing like I'd expected after driving by and reading other reviews. We ended up going elsewhere, and won't be trying this place again. read more

Omg literally could have stayed here our entire trip at Gibson's! They had a few choices of beers and others in can but the golden ale was delicious. We really love a place that has great beer, games, and gorgeous views! We had gone on Thursday and it was rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the patio upstairs area as much as the second day! However they did have heaters so we still sat upstairs both times. Foosball was super fun as well as the large connect four checkers game. They have food as well that we got to see be brought in fresh! The chicken pesto flatbread went really well with our beer. They have only been open two years and can't believe they don't have many reviews. The upstairs patio area has only been open about a year but so glad they made it! read more

I understand the reason why you pay before getting your food because the staff can't figure out how to properly service their customers. Such a disappointment! Stopped by for a beer and appie before catching the ferry back. We gave ourselves plenty of time, ordered a couple of beers and the tuna stack appetizer. Beers were good, but waited 40 minutes and no food. Went to the counter to check on our appie and they said "it's just being plated now". Meanwhile we had seen plenty of plates come out of the kitchen so we assume they forgot our order. Why else would it take so long for an appie that isnt even cooked?? Asked for it to go and waited another ten minutes. When it was ready we saw them bring it to the wrong people as it went downstairs, then back up to us. I literally gasped when I saw how little the portion was. 4 wonton crips and a few pieces of tuna for $17. We returned the food and asked for our money back as the whole situation was ridiculous. They gave us our money back for the appie only, and refused to return the 18% tip we paid before before being served. Absolutely pathetic service. Lesson learned: don't tip before you get what you're paying for, even when they ask for it beforehand. read more

I live in Vancouver and stop by Tapworks whenever I'm in town to visit a friend. I love the relaxed atmosphere, especially on the upstairs patio! The newest craft brewery on the Sunshine Coast, Gibsons Tapworks has a central location and great beer on tap. The three owners are friendly and seem, given the size and newness of the brewery, to be very hands on and customer facing. While there's no view to speak of, they're half a block from the water and close to several restaurants, making this a great before or after dinner stop. I believe there's a food truck operating outside although it was closed when we were there. The great beer, authentic feel and friendly staff make this a must if you're in Gibsons and have a thirst to quench. read more
