Came here twice during dine out - great deal for lunch menu (choose two items)& dinner menu three items for $35. The"dessert" can be a slushy margarita. The blood orange and spicy mango were great concoctions (not just syrupy slush) Rice bowls were tasty (salmon teriyaki, aioli chicken , prawn appie was a generous portion.) On one of the occasions, we shared a Dineout menu along with a few other appies. The kitchen accommodated our request by dividing the main dish into two nicely presented portions. (& @ no extra charge! I say this because Vancouver has become a town where establishments are ok charging up to $4 for having 1/2 salad & fries & still expect a 18% tip after taxes.) Happy hour deals are amazing and the food is definitely elevated to the point of being a gastropub and a damn good one at that. We got the korean style fried chicken and it was very flavourful and perfect shareable snack. It was nice and quiet on a Sunday night, we found paid street parking easily. The place was so nice and relaxing we stopped here twice on our trip. First when we arrived and also right before we left to go back home. The wings were great, we ordered them both times. One salt and pepper and one buffalo. Cooked perfectly, nice crisp skin, even when covered in sauce. Beer selection is pretty decent, though the second time we stopped in(after the weekend), I struck out in beer. They were out of the first three I picked. Both times we came it was fairly empty as it was the middle of the day, the service was decent. For the amount of people that were in there it could have been better, but I get it, it's kind of a lax spot. There's plenty of tvs for all of the sports games which was nice. I can see this place being a lively spot in the evening, plenty of games and a nice patio out back. The food was probably what stood out. The chicken sandwich was bomb. Mac and cheese bites were good(we ordered a side of queso to dip the mac n cheese in, highly recommend). Poutine was probably the best we had on the trip. Over all I would definitely swing in here again next time we come up. The pizza was good, though I think the garlic drizzle was a bit much(it did look pretty), probably didn't need it at all....and the pizza could have been a little more well done. But who am I kidding, it's pizza and what didn't eat there I took with me and ate later. I strongly recommend stopping in here and getting the food. Everything we had was great! This is another in the series of restaurants from Tap n' Brew, though this location carries a different name, presumably because it lacks the location and view the chain is known for. They try to appear as a brewery, though it's unclear if any beer is actually made on site, and most of their taps are from out-of-house. They only have about 5;beers on tap, so options are limited. Food is edible, but mediocre at best - dry, overcioked curly fries and paper thin burgers. I guess you can't expect much when a cheeseburger is $18. The location is terrible, situated on 2nd (which is like a freeway) and blocks away from the seawall which is prime for a restaurant. We visited at noon on a beautiful summer day, and we're one of four tables. The place was literally empty. They must be bleeding money as you couldn't even afford to pay their staff of 6-8 employees with such few customers. read more

Fantastic spot for beer lovers!! The huge space allows for group activities but can also get loud on the weekends because they have a DJ and a small dance floor that opens up as the night goes on. If you are looking to have a nice quiet conversation, don't visit on a Friday or Saturday evening. Having said that, Brewhall is exactly what you need for a night of drinking and dancing. Decent brewery place in Olympic Village area. Parking is available on the side streets, specifically S of 2nd Avenue. I think there's pay parking underneath the building. The place looks quite similar to the previous incarnation (Steel Toad), and the anvil is still hanging out there in front. The layout is pretty much the same as before. Bar area in the bottom, quieter seating upstairs. They have some old school pinball machines and a skeeball machine in the corner. Not sure if I'd touch this stuff during the pandemic though. Staff were friendly. No complaints there. The beer selection wasn't as large as I thought it would be. As of the time of writing there were 4 signature (regular) brews and 3 seasonals. Overall the beers were tasty. The Beliner weisse uses syrup. They used a bit too much of it to be honest. Hopefully the owner sees this. I also had a chance to try the deep fried pickles and pretzel. Special mention for both. Definitely one of the better ones (both items) I've had around town. Worth the few bucks if one wants a snack. Overall not a bad choice. I'll be back at some point. Came here with some friends for drinks and dinner on a busy Friday night and we did enjoy it here. It had good vibes, fun energy, and pretty good service for how busy they were. It did get a bit loud so I wouldn't recommend if you are hard of hearing. They have a large beer selection with several sours which we appreciated. Okay, I Love Brewhall! It's probably one of my top spots in Vancouver as a whole! Situated in the perfect spot, right on west 2nd and Quebec St (right near Earnest ice cream, the water, craft and main st station), it's a great spot to meet up with friends. Happy hour has some great bites for a good price (just not on Saturdays). Their burgers are sooo good, and their fries come in a few options (curly, dirty and more!). You can get the curly fries at no additional charge. Their burger and fries is about $14 (which is a pretty good price for the quality). They'll often have live music or at least pumping music in the background. Brew "hall" is a giant food hall with two levels, a ton of picnic bench seating - and of course lots of plexiglass to make you feel safe during covid times. The beer is also delish with lots of collabs with local breweries! My favorite sour is the Azedo sour! They've also got Jell-O shots which can make for a fun night out with friends. We came here for a goodbye dinner. We made reservations (which I love and highly recommend). Seating is picnic style and very awkward for a large group. Tons of drink and food options and the service was super attentive. I ordered the Tina PoKe Bowl (subbed for tofu - miso-soy ahi tuna sashimi, cucumber, cilantro, jasmine rice, wakame, avocado, pickled cabbage, radish, wonton chips, mixed sesame seeds, spicy miso mayo, crispy onions). Brewhall is the go to place for millennials. If you're visiting Vancouver, come on a Friday or Saturday night and shut down the place, singing Dancing Queen at the top of your lungs with your pals! From the creators of Tap and Barrel, they've really taken this place to the next level - as it used to be Steel Toad which I always found a bit dark and dreary. Brewhall has made it work with the big screens, the games, the FUN environment! Always a great variety of beer, and I love their deep fried pickles. The vibe is DEFINITELY NOT cozy and you do share long tables mostly with strangers! It's fun but something does feel slightly off whenever I am there. I do have fun, but there is some weird personable/not personable/Vancouver "standoff"ish vibes at times too considering it's trying to create an environment of connection. Maybe the place is TOO big? While its energetic arcade-hall decor is different from the relaxed hipster vibe at other craft breweries in the area, it provides a fun place for folks to hangout, have a nice beer and play a few arcade games. Brewhall offers a great selection of beer from their own craft brewery as well as from collaboration and guest breweries. They serve wine on tap as well if you are tired of beer! One of my favorite beers of theirs is the Hallpass IPA; hoppy and a joy to drink. Their food menu is a small but varied, and I do like their customizable salad bowls. Went to the Brewhall on opening day. They've kept the bar where it used to be, but they've changed the seating to be long tables that are shared. The place is a lot brighter and more welcoming than when it was steel toad. There's an array of taps pouring fresh beers in all shades of gold. They also have a number of wines on tap, similar to the Tap and Barrel. In fact, the place is owned by the same restaurant group. So I think this location is now in good hands. If you thought wine on tap was taking it a bit far, then you were mistaken, because the brewhall has a couple of cocktails on tap as well. Old Fashioneds and Negronis (if I remember correctly). I did not try these, because how could I drink cocktails at a brewery on its opening night? Come on... One last note, the food isn't expensive, but they are snack sized. Formerly Steel Toad, I do have to give a huge shout out to the owners of Brewhall (same owners as Tap & Barrel) for creating a new fun, happenin' spot in the city for beer lovers and friends to gather. I love Brewhall, I really do. Everytime I've come by I've had a really fun night. I love their beers (their Hallpass IPA being my fave) - they create their own as well as partner with other breweries around the city and create new collaboration flavours. Their Mango IPA over the summer was so freaking good and I want them to put it back on their menu ASAP. They also serve food - their deep fried pickles, crispy chicken burger, dirty fries, and corn dogs are my top faves from their food menu. I've also tried their mexican and green goddess bowls, which were tasty and filling if you were looking for something lighter. I also have a vague memory of trying their cinnamon donut holes and loving it. Will have to come back to confirm this. They also have a large mezzanine that overlooks the whole brewhall. It's available to rent for private parties or larger groups. Really fun environment, loud sing-a-long music tunes, arcade games, and communal tables to mix and mingle with new and old friends. I came here with my kid recently. If she were writing this review, she'd give this place five stars for sure. She just loved it! But me? Meh. Perhaps I'm too old for this venue, as there seemed to be a younger crowd here. Everyone seemed to be in their 20s or 30s. Not that I mind that all but it was very loud inside, between all the people talking and the music playing. Plus there are communal tables and all were full. Plus, this place is known for its beer - and I don't drink beer. We actually came here for a group event. When I arrived, I asked the woman at the door where this group was located and she escorted us upstairs where there's a large mezzanine-like level and a large bar and many tables. (I was surprised we were brought upstairs, actually, as it appeared to be the "bar" area and my kid is a minor). Once upstairs, I asked the bartender (who was super nice) where my group was; he left to find out and, upon returning, said the group was downstairs. Argh. My group, although small, was unable to find a place at any of the communal tables for all of us to sit together, so my kid and I sat at a different bench. We ordered two "Make Your Own Bowl" meals (I think it was called the Green Goddess" bowl. My kid had hers with chicken as the protein. Me, the ahi tuna). She loved her meal! I found the tuna excellent but the rest of the dish too salty, and too much dressing in it. (I brought 90% of it home and gave it to my kid the next day). If I were younger and into beer, I'd probably love this place. There are arcade games, it's lively, I saw people playing games at the tables upstairs; it's obviously a hopping, fun place. Finally got a chance to check out the new Brewhall in Olympic Village. Lovely combination of a brewery with pub style bites on the menu, along with a games room and scotch tasting room. Come for the beer and stay for the rest I'd say! They have some delicious beers on tap, some of their own, a few collaborations and some taps with their neighbours in the lower mainlands beer. They even have a few beers available to go in cans! My favs of theirs is the Sour Rangers and White Stout. Fav collabs would be the cherry sour and their collab with Field House. We went for an event thou and to check out their upstairs event room. They have a ton of whiskey, scotch and bourbon and are eager to have whiskey lovers unite up there for lots of upcoming events. We went for Robbie Burns night, the famous Scottish poet, so we of course had a plate of haggis, along with meat and potatoes and whiskey galore. We got a paddle taster full of scotch and they also had reps come out and sample their products as well, loved it! It was an intimate even with limited tickets, so be sure to catch your tickets early for the next event in the Drinklab! I rated them a 3 because I think they could do better. Now I've only been once but I gotta say finally this space is being utilized as a social watering hole where people actually talk to one another in Vancouver! Who woulda thought. My bf and I ordered the kale and artichoke dip along with two brews. Mine the Satsuma Lager and his...I can't remember. Both the brews were yummy. Lots of options to choose from if you're looking to try some local sips! They also collab with craft breweries in the neighbourhood which I think it great. "Brewhall" was created by the makers of "Tap and Barrel" and is quite unique, as you will find out when you finish reading my awesome review and GO GET YOUR BEER ON! Okay, back to the review.....So, I am not particularly a huge beer person and I actually haven't tried any beer here yet, but....I have tried a variety of their Ciders! During my first visit, they offered two as "Guest Taps" BC Tree Fruit and Brickers Blackberry cider. BC was a tasty 6%, but a little on the sweet side. The Brickers Blackberry cider was much more dry and really lacked any kind of sweetness and was 6.2%. They both ran around $8-9. I didn't like the Brickers at all and actually poured some of my BC Tree into my Gf's Brickers to make a much more tolerable cider. I basically brewed my own cider! j/k. On my most recent visit, they had SEACIDER "Pippins". Seacider is my favorite maker of all things cider!!! Pippins is not my absolute fav, but all their ciders are amazing (strong at 9%). Like most reviews you will read, Brewhall wins the majority over with its welcoming and interactive atmosphere. I visited initially on a Monday night with no line up and fairly quiet inside. I have seen insanely long lines on a Saturday night; not my jam! When I stepped inside, Brewhall had that sort of "cafeteria" feel with large menu board to pick your poison and self serve. The tables are communal bench style seating, making it quite social. It has much the same feel as visiting a brewery, but on a much larger scale and so much better! The ambiance is extra dope because they have old arcade games like pinball, Pacman, and Street Fighter!! Pure awesomeness!! It's a loonie for most machines. Apparently, there is also a whiskey bar upstairs that I am dying to try out; it was closed on the Monday and reserved for a private event on my Thursday visit. I will definitely be back to check that out and give everyone an update. To accompany my cider I tried the Deep Fried Pickles and The Pumpkin Spice Donut Holes. I enjoyed both, especially the Donuts. My only complaint from my snack attack was the dipping sauce for the Pickles, as it was very bland and boring. On my subsequent visit I tried the soft pretzel which was a huge disappointment. It tasted stale. I spoke to the manager (Someone overhead my complaint lol) and she apologized saying they actually make them fresh daily. I dunno what happened there, but the manager was ever so gracious and gave me a "Cheers" card for a free drink! That's some classy management right there! Thanks Vivien! I also tried some of my friends pizza.... uhhh that needs some work! It was soggy and kinda sad looking. Flavor was meh! I ordered the Mediterranean bowl for my dinner and that was very tasty and healthy. It really balanced my excessive drinking. HAPPY HOUR: 2-6 pm Monday to Friday and 9 pm till close on Sunday to Thursday Happy FOOD: $2 of thin crust pizza (Gluten free available), Fried Pickles for $5, Soft Baked Pretzels for $3.50, Jelly Poppers 4 for $12 Happy Beer: Neon Lights Pale Ale for $4/$5.50 and Hall Pass IPA for $4/$5.50. It's definitely a great place to hang with a group of friends. There's a DJ and arcade (loonie per game). Dine out Vancouver was ongoing. I got the Forager burger with salad and donut holes. I think it is pretty good value for $15. The burger was juicy albeit it could use a bit more flavor. It looks small but I got full. Salad was plentiful and dressed nicely. The donut holes were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. I ordered the Phillips sour beer. It wasn't my favorite but it went surprisingly well with the burger. Got a chance to try out Brewhall during Dine Out Vancouver. It's one large open pub style eatery with west coast North American food. Ordered a salad and I was delightfully surprised. They had some really unique salads. The maple soy salmon salad was incredible. I've never had black rice before and let alone in a salad. What are sunomono cucumbers and pickled cabbage? Very unique healthy ingredients and I enjoyed it. For less than $20 it was great value. Their portions are generous and the service was great. The cocktail selection was limited obviously it's a brewery. I enjoyed the food but not the alcoholic beverage so much as I'm a wine and cocktail person. I'm sad to say I will not be returning to this place. It's my second time here, once pre-COVID and now. I understand, that because of COVID our group of 8 had to be split to two tables - we were told side by side but one group ended up, upstairs and the other down (again, I understand that due to covid, you could not seat us, next to each other, with the divider up). When we were seated, the server asked us what we wanted to order, fine. We weren't ready so he came back, great. My 2 gfs ordered chickpea burger and the other gf ordered a kfc burger, no onions, no tomato. The server serves us our drinks, I asked for napkin he had a blank stair then said "huh? Sorry?" I was happy to stop in here for happy hour with a friend. We liked the prices and options. There is a set happy hour menu that has beer for $4 or $5.50, depending on the size and $7 wine. We also tried some food - the soft pretzel and fried pickles. Both tasted good and were $2 off each- anything from shareable menu is $2 off during happy hour, which is M-F between 2-6 and Thu-Sun 9-closing. The patio is nice, shaded and breezy. I look forward to coming back and trying more options on the happy hour menu. ...so, I returned and split the corn dog with a friend. I hadn't had one in years, but it hit the spot. Good portion. I had the Neon Lights beer, which is a hoppy ale. I'll be having that again. Also, just a note that their menu offers quite a variety of options, and I think that's a real draw to this place.
