My parents have been coming here for years. Today l my dad slipped on some water on the ground from a leaking vent. He fell hard and even the table flipped. None of the workers even considered to ask him if he was ok. He did end up hurting himself . It wasn't until he fell they put a sign up and some napkins on the floor.. Also still had to pay full price for their meal. He turned 69 last week. unfortunately will not be returning . read more

Stopped into Taqueria El Toro to grab some tacos to bring to a friends party. The tacos were a huge hit with everyone loving them and the hot sauces. The red was my favorite with a nice amount of heat. The staff was great too, my daughter and I came in not knowing what we wanted but took the time to help us pick everything we wanted. The food tasted good but the portions were not enough. We paid $37.00 for a "parrillada" for 2 and it just didn't seem to be enough. The tortillas were fresh and handmade so that was good but they charged too much for add-ons like $1.04 for a lime and $3.11 for a side of queso fresco without even advising us of the cost. The service was ok but our waitress lacked motivation and a smile. The restaurant looked good inside except for the one fly that kept flying over our food. The egg, bacon, cheese and bean taco has no flavor, we got it for breakfast and they made us get 3 tacos but we wanted 1, and when we got them we went back to our hotel and ate them and the beans had no flavor and the tortilla was sweet. The service was good we were greeted when we came in and ordered chips and salsa. The salsa that comes with the chips is really good not spicy but has a good taste. The aguas frescas are bomb!!! We had the melon and limonada they were very refreshing and good. Check the pictures for the food review. The service could have been better, and our food came out separately it would have been nice to have gotten all our food at the same time. The decor is cool typical Mexican vibe and music was good. Came here for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint! Enchiladas were great, but Probably get a diff meat than chicken, bc it tasted like overcooked stringy chicken. Beans and rice were okay. Salad was awkward because I didn't know if you eat it together with the enchiladas or not. Just dressing-less veggies with avocados. Birria tacos were very tasty though. We got beef Barbacoa meat which is always good everywhere. The lamb was the star of the show, though. Very juicy and flavorful. They gave us a lot of consumé and additional toppings. Great authentic Tex-Mex food! I'm from San Antonio and I'd have to say this is the closest thing I've found. Rice is spot on, beans are 9/10 (could use some lard), and the enchiladas are wrapped in a perfect enchilada tortilla and packed with chicken. My only other recommendation would be to make the verde sauce a little less like salsa-esque and more flavorful. read more

The Cubana sandwich was excellent as was the chips & queso. You could feed a family of four with the size of the sandwich. It's huge. The restaurant includes a bakery which offered many sweets. The descriptions were in Spanish so I just selected a couple based on their inviting looks. They haven't been tried yet but based on how good the sandwich was I'm sure they will be great. read more

Service was decent. They didn't greet me but walked to the counter when I walked in and assisted me with my order. It took longer than expected to get my food so I waited in my car. Inside was decorated festively. Nice open space to dine in. All together my husband and i ordered a steak burrito, 3 steak tacos, 2 chorizo tacos, 1 pastor taco ,queso dip, and a side of rice and beans. The steak meat was tender but not seasoned at all. It's cut into bigger pieces which makes it awkward when you bite your taco and half of your meat is gone. The burrito was rated 7.8 out of 10. Super fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion, big size over all. Steak tacos were trash because of the meat. But the chorizo tacos are really good. The queso dip was thick and spicy. Tasted really good. Spent $28 on a flauta plate, tres leches and a sprite. Opened up a box with lettuce thrown all over the place with terrible tasting flautas. They need a whole new recipe (if they even used one). Scared to taste the tres leches because it doesn't look moist at all. It look like a piece of standard vanilla cake. Only thing good so far is the canned sprite with they over prices as well. After my nephew was crying cause it was hurting his mouth age 6 I tried it and it burnt my mouth there is no way that was by accident. Save your money and stay far far far away from this please. We came here for the first time last weekend. My husband & brother had the menudo, and I had the pozole. They serve in the authentic pottery bowls, which I loved. They food was absolutely delicious! I ate here for the first time today and let me say it will definitely not be the last time! They have a great variety on their menu but when I saw that they have posole I knew what I was going to order. Posole is one of my favorite things to eat and I've had some of the best, authentic posole so I tend to be picky. This did not disappoint at all!! It was right up there with the best I've ever tasted. Also, the flour tortillas tasted like they were handmade. They were chewy, hot and on the thick side. They definitely were not like tortillas you buy at the grocery store. This place is a rare find and we were the only non Hispanics in the restaurant which is usually a good sign you've found an authentic place. Their food is not what I would consider Americanized and that's a great thing!! Also our waitresses name was either J or Jay. She was so sweet, very attentive and I had the best time speaking with her. I can't recommend Taqueria El Toro enough.
