Ok, so I eat here a lot, but (oh, there is a but) they charge more than the amount of food one buys. For example, my total was $27 before taxes and they charged me $32! $5 in taxes is a bit much, no? I never complained, never asked for a receipt, so I assume I was mistaken and my math was wrong. Well today a customer argued how his meal could be so much when it was cleared that what he ordered was less than they asked. The lady said that is how they charge, including a tip. Well as a customer and the man, we were all unaware that they add the tip to our tab, aside from what we throw in their tip jar. I understand that they make the minimum wage, but it is wrong and unethical. You cannot run a business like that, you must make all charges aware to the paying customer or else that is robbing and deceiving your customers. Food is good as always, but please make customers aware of this. It is not ok, I would not want this place of business to shut down for a problem that can be avoided. I came here completely by accident with the Taco Tour. It just happened to be down the street from the last place we were going to visit. The girl working there told us this truck is owned by the same people who run the Taqueria Express but the food is different. This place was ok. Nothing special, to be honest. They were friendly and the food was good. It just wasn't as good as some other places I've been. They do their pastor meat differently- it's all cut up into almost shredded chunks. It's like they wanted to make little french fries out of the meat. I'm sure it's a special method I've just never heard of but it didn't take away from the taste of the food at all. This WAS my favorite taco shop in Memphis. after what I experienced today, I am NEVER going back again. It wasn't that busy when I ordered. I ordered 7 de asada y 2 de birria and 5 de lengua and 2 de birria. The guy said it was gonna be a few minutes. After A few minutes I went back to order 1 more taco because I forgot and the guy got defensive and said it would be another 20 minutes for me to get the taco then he added that my food was ready. So I paid for the food I ordered ( not including the taco I asked for) . Went home. When I got home the tacos looked a mess and burnt. 1 of the tacos didn't even look like a taco. Plus I was missing 2 tacos. So I went back , I told him to look at what he gave me , he said no , didn't want to look at it or fix the problem. He said it's supposed to look burnt. And he said that I ordered what he gave me which is NOT TRUE. I didn't order 5 tacos de asada - more like 4 . I ordered 7 de asada . The guy was so rude and unprofessional. I even heard the cooks in the back talk shit. I asked to get at least 2 more and I was willing to pay. He said he couldn't take my card payment because of the CC machine only taking $6. I don't recommend the restaurant I got food poisoning from there on Thursday and the place is really unclean. When I was able to sit in a table with my family the table was dirty and I had to clean the space, sure the people were busy but not too busy flirting with a customer and giving there Instagram, yeah next table to me like seriously. My favorite taco truck. The portions are generous and the food is very consistent. I usually order the spicy pork quesadilla and 3 tacos. Service is friendly and fairly quick for a made to order meal. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of 5 is because the price is different every time. I always have the same order. The food is consistent and exceptionally well flavored. To get a testament of the authenticity, 90 percent of the clients are Memphis Latinos. I have been here at least three dozen times and only one time where I got the carnet asada, it was a little tough but the flavor was good. Up until recently they were cash only but today they had a sign out that said they take credit cards which I am sure will boost sales. They speak English well but the accents are a little hard to understand but they have not gotten my order wrong yet. I do not like tripe but their tripe tacos have the flavor and consistency of broiled pork belly. The beef tongue tacos are excellent. Their red sauce and green sauce are equally exceptional and go good on different types of meat. It is very spicy but has an equal amount of good flavor. Sometimes they have goat tacos as well which I recommend. The burritos are average and their tacos have a respectable amount of meat. They are the typical street tacos with cilantro and onions, really doesn't need anything else. This isn't Taco Bell so you don't get onions and lettuce and sour cream and all that American bullshit. Just straight up authentic Mexican street tacos. My opinion, the best Mexican food truck in Memphis. La Taqueria De Guadalupana is a close second but their prices are, for me, outrageous. read more

Went by for tacos tonight. I tried to order chicken tacos but was told that they did not have any more chicken. That's fine, I ordered a few other kinds to try. About 10 minutes later we were waiting to pick up our food and other people came and ordered chicken tacos and were given them. We asked about it when we picked our up and he denied that the previous customers had ordered them. We were standing 3 feet away and I know what "pollo" means. I'd hate to speculate why, but it was unsettling. They were clearly lying when they denied it. We won't be going back.
