    Chips & Salsa were good!
    Rick B.

EAT HERE!!! Tucked away in an older residential area, well off the beaten path, but worth every minute it will take you to find it!! This is where Yelp shines; we would NEVER have found this hidden gem without Yelp! Plenty of parking in front and behind. We were seated quickly, and the food smelled great! Chips and salsa were brought when we ordered drinks, and then we drooled over the menus for a bit. I couldn't believe the low prices for such extravagant dishes, and the huge portions were obvious on other tables! I ordered the 3 Taco lunch with double beans, and both the fajita chicken & beef tacos were a delight. My wife nearly foundered on her Sopa Plate; it came with 5 delicious Sopas piled high with meat and fixings! I ate one and wished I was hungry enough to eat more!! The seafood looked delicious as well, and if I go back I will def plan to gorge!! Kids from the nearby houses came in to buy drinks and candy; this is literally an oasis in the midst of an aging food desert! Drive past all the fancy Fajita & Taco places close to the highway; eat here and thank me later!!

    chili relleno asada

I had such high hopes. I was looking forward to this chili relleno asada when I saw it on the menu. I was presented with a over microwaved plate of mush on styrofoam. The meat inside had the distinct flavor of old refrigerated meat. On the plus side the refried beans were good as were the chips and salsa. Perhaps it was a bad choice or just a bad day but not the way I wanted to start the day.

The tacos were incredible. See the hitchhiker on the plate. I wish that was a joke. Waitress was apologetic, no manager or owner came out.

My favorite place to eat in Mt. Pleasant. Great food. Great service. Great people. Best tacos in town. And the shrimp cocktail is amazing.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Dallas - awesome little place! We had the Pina tacos and the Alambre tacos, which were great.

Next time we pass through here I would definitely call the order in via phone, as I know that would've cut down the wait time significantly. They were absolutely swamped on a Saturday night! I ordered the Hawaiina plate for the hubby, along with some Chicken Flautas to share, a Cheese Chile Relleno which is not my favorite but I think that is the only kind they make...2 Beef Gorditas. It doesn't sound like they use a lot of Cilantro even though the pictures show quite a bit on almost every plate. The young lady assured me that most everything comes with tomato onion and sour cream. The hubby prefers flour tortillas so that is what he got with his meal. His meal was very unique and was a mixture of tender fajita beef and chicken liberally sprinkled with cooked bacon topped with cheese. Easily eaten with tortillas but he enjoyed just eating it with a fork. He said it was very rich but delicious!!! They use a good quality flour tortilla but it is not homemade. I was the lucky one! My relleno came with corn tortillas per my request and they were homemade indeed and yes absolutely divine! The Red sauce had a lot of heat to it so I ended up saving it for when I get home so I have plenty of beverages should it be as hot as the first bite felt! It was sure delicious! The taquitos-Which is my name for them, (they are calling them Flautas, but in my opinion they were rolled small and tight and stuffed with delicious seasoned chicken. Had red and green sauce that accompanied them for dipping. Also had some shredded lettuce and then in a couple of thin slices of tomato and sour cream. These things were absolutely delicious and I ate every one of them! I didn't even share!!! The Gorditas were absolutely fabulous. So fresh, had just been put together, nice and warm and a very satisfying comfort food. Next time I will definitely try the sopas. And they were out of Agua Fresca's But I did get a Mexican Coke for the hubster which he appreciated.

Very warm and friendly. The food makes me want to go back as soon as we walk out. The tostadas are my favorite. They are fresh and light and crispy to the end. Idk how they do that. I love the music and all of the people. It is an upbeat and happy place to be. The salsa is delicious and I love it, but it took me a minute to figure out the smell reminds me of stuffed bell peppers like my mom used to make!

Once we sat, we saw one other table of 4 people inside. It took 15 minutes for her to come out with salsa and chips and then she took our drink order. Sweet tea was good and topo chico was available. We ordered chicken fajitas, beef fajitas and chicken enchiladas. Their saving grace were the crispy chips and fresh salsa. Every time the door at entrance opened there is a VERY loud, startling beeping sound. It took over 45 min to get our food. Unfortunately, portions were lunch size and food was bland. Our server was confused and served the chicken fajitas stating they were steak. She brought out one plate at a time with 10 min in between each plate so everything was lukewarm warm by the time we finally got tortillas at the very end. All the staff seemed distracted by the rain storm. The tv inside the restaurant had "Bluey" cartoon on. I would not recommend this place unless you want to wait an hour and prefer bland Mexican food and a very casual atmosphere. We had to walk up to get our check. Very disappointed because other people's reviews sound very positive but unfortunately we did not have that experience today.

The chips were extra thick and crunchy, the salsa was bland and just gross. The problem is that I can cook good food at home so it's the service that makes eating out worth it, and I've never had worse service than here today. If things are busy, all the grace in the world, no problem, but this was different. Someone spilled their water so we used all of our napkins to clean the table. Eventually, someone put a wet floor sign nearby so they knew something was spilled at our table. No one ever came over to offer more water or napkins, or anything else for that matter. We ate our spicy meals with zero napkins and no water. Two of the four orders were wrong which is fine, that happens too, but one of the replacement meals was still wrong, and the waitress didn't care. We had to get up and get napkins, get up and ask for more tea, get up and get a to-go box before we paid out, so what service were we tipping for exactly? We told the cashier that one of our to go meals still didn't have the sides listed on the menu even though we asked for them and her response was "sorry about that." Zero care in the world. So I told her when it was my turn to pay out that maybe our waitress was having a bad day or something because I've never had worse service in my life. Again, it was "sorry about that." There was no language barrier with her, she completely understood the problem. I wonder how many times a day she says "sorry about that." It's the first time in my life I didn't tip. Yesterday, I tipped $67 at Cracker Barrel, but this restaurant has everything to be desired in the service department. At least the food they got right was really good.
