    Potato Chorizo Taco

Taco-bout a great local spot. San Juan is family owned in the small town of Leakey, TX. There aren't many choices to choose in town but I can assure you won't be disappointed if this is the place you choose to eat at if the other places in town are packed from the summer tourists. Everything you order is cooked fresh to order and they can sometimes get busy in the later morning hours but if you have time on your hands stop by. We got some of our usuals we like to get here, the bean and cheese tacos, carne asada tacos, and potato chorizo tacos. We ended up getting 3 tacos each and with their being 3 of us this was quite a lot of tacos but let me tell you the portion size for what you get fills you up and we each had to take a taco home to eat later on in the day. If you like spicy salsa make sure to ask so you can put it on your taco for an extra kick. They offer other items like burgers, and different meal options I've previously ordered the burrito and my goodness it's delicious. Whatever you order here you won't be disappointed. This is one place where I feel great eating at and supporting a local family owned establishment. Keep up the friendly service and fresh food. I'll be back when I'm in Texas again.

If your in the mood for outside seating in downtown Leakey they have breakfast food that is perfect to start your day.

Great breakfast tacos, salsa (both red and green were good, better mixed) and tortillas were solid which is key. Would go again

We eat there regularly from our business. Everything is good no matter what you order. I recommend to anyone.

They were amazing. My wife had the chimichanga which was filled with carne guisada which was quite tender and outstanding. I had the green chile enchiladas which were packed with chicken and very generous portion. Prices were very reasonable as well. If hungry for Mexican you will enjoy this place.

I don't think it's worth the money. There was only four little pieces of Carne guisada , then enchiladas ok was OK. Maybe it's the tortillas you're using that aren't holding . The beans and rice taste OK ! Tasted better. my Taco and Tostada were very so soggy. It had no crunch at all, soggy be nice to wrap in foil when you tell them to go because it's unable to pick up. And for the price, she should probably throw a tort in wrapped in foil, of course! I'm only in town for one more day thanks! Our plates seem to be microwaved the ambience was OK. I guess it's the regulars. Not worry 20 plate. Sat there for minutes to give our orders !

We were told "you pay for the atmosphere. The food is okay." But our food was fantastic. I had…read morethe sour cream chicken enchiladas and they were so flavorful. The chips and salsa were good and that green sauce was so unique. We got the queso flameado. The waiter set it on fire, let it fizzle out, and then served each of us individually a fresh tortilla with queso rolled up in it. I've never seen service like that. My kids loved it and their quesadillas. Afterwards, I thought I was too full for any dessert but my kids talked me into going to the ice cream room with them, and that's when I saw the Huckleberry ice cream! I immediately somehow had room and it was delicious! Oh yeah, and the atmosphere WAS pretty fantastic. Very cool and would recommend over and over for someone with kids.

Now the last few years the food has gotten so bland and the fajitas are always rubbery chicken and chewy beef. :( & More veggies than meat and they weren't even property sliced. It was like chunks of onions and bell pepper. So it was awkward to put on your taco. So disappointing esp for the high cost. :( Tortillas not as fluffy as they used to be but still homemade so that's a plus. Ground beef is hit or miss Usu needs more spices
