The picture of the food is beautiful, the plate it was served on was lovely as well. However, i wasn't even slightly impressed with the food sitting on it. I had the $11 chicken fajita tostada plate and it was bland and just 'meh'. Fajita meat was more like a boiled and seasoned shredded chicken. I broke up the tostadas and mixed it all up like a salad and tried to eat it that way. No water was served to us, only bottled water available for purchase and as we had cold water bottles our entire trip and also waiting in the car, i refused to purchase another three bottles. We don't drink sodas so it made for an extremely dry meal. I know this is a taqueria, but I would have loved to munch on chips and salsa while waiting for our food to come out. Thankfully, it was served quickly. My husband ordered a couple of tacos. A cactus and bean taco with an obscene amount of garlic in which we've been tasting all the way home, and i only had one tiny bite. The other taco, which was supposed to be beef fajita meat was more like chopped brisket with absolutely nothing on the taco with it. Our daughter chose wisely not to order anything to eat. Or drink. She just sat and grinned at our expressions when we took a bite or looked at each other after taking a bite. Two extremely spicy bottle sauces were served with the meal. I guess the sauces were to cover the blandness of the food, but then all you tasted was hot pepper sauce with a severe heat and kick to numb your tastebuds. While in Palestine my sister and I decided to stop in at this delicious gem! SO glad we did. Everything is made from scratch and incredibly yummy! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. She made suggestions that didn't disappoint! My sister ordered the Super Burrito and we were blown away that they make their own tortillas! Came in for breakfast on Saturday (mid-morn) one of the few times got to sleep late. We were told by several folks at The Redlands Hotel, this restaurant is the place by most locals for breakfast & lunch. This is first place I have ever been when you ask for a coke they have 3 different bottled or can options. How many folks have seen a coke with the warning for sugar, calories and caffeine and not to give to kids! It was fantastic tasting not sure what the difference is for bottling between U.S. bottling and Mexico but yum-mo! We started with the spicy green eggs taco (1) as this was highlighted on the menu and by the waitress. Its eggs scrambled with green Verde sauce, before you take a bite make sure you have something to drink it is spicy but very flavorful. My wife ordered the chilaquiles and she was very happy with it. She said the flavors were very good and she made a happy face on her plate. I ordered the chorizo with eggs both come with sides of refried beans and fantastic flavored poppas (fried taters). We both loved our food and enjoyed the staff. We were disappointed they did not serve chips and salsa while we waited plus they are not open on Sunday, but that goes with a lot of the restaurants in Palestine. Closed on Sunday is the norm for the majority of local businesses. But we will be back. read more

Normally I wouldn't get excited about a small taqueria stand in a medium sized town in the middle of nowhere (my opinion) in Texas because it wasn't listed on Yelp. However... you should get excited and find your way here. This little stand blew the mind of our party of six today as we dined under the tent next to where the food is ordered and prepared. Stopped in here because when you see a small portable tacqeuria in a town that already has a dozen or so Mexican restaurants, you know they'd better be darn good or they'll soon be out of business. No chance of that happening. We had scores of tacos, more than I could count between us. Perfectly prepared and seasoned corn and flour tortillas. Barbacoa, el Pastor, beef, etc. Exceptionally flavored, moist, tender meats on the tacos topped with slightly cooked white onions and cilantro. A red and green sauce, the latter which has a pleasant hot kick to it. Someone had to ask: sorry, no chips and salsa (thanks, actually) they said. That's "a Tex-Mex thing." The gorditas, good Lord... tender, moist, packed with flavor and just $1.25. Several flavors of Jarritos. Simple, elegant, no pretense food prepared inside of a very small stand, clearly crafted with skill and love. This is what food is all about. If this business was located in New York City it'd have over a thousand Yelp comments by now. In Kansas City, it'd have 200+. Proud to be the first reviewer on Yelp for them. Let's taco bout it! Yum! I kept it safe today with chicken tacos, but next time I plan on getting something more adventurous. The tacos were simple, but oh so good, with cilantro and grilled onions on a thick corn tortilla. The hot sauce was great, I got the mild and I'm so glad I did! A word of warning, the mild sauce cleared up my sinuses, and left my mouth tingling for about 10 minutes... I don't think this white girl could handle the hot! What a shame..... I really wanted to like this place. The cashier was friendly, but that was by far the best part if this place. Fajita beef and chicken were inedible and extremely dry. The pork seemed OK, so I mixed with the beef.... made them both unable to be consumed. This is probably the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had. Definitely hits the spot, and beats the heck out of all the gringo-mex places in town. Tacos (Mexican style, not fried shells), pork with chile verde sauce, gorditas, tortas, quesadillas, all the good good taqueria basics, with Mexican Coke as well as tea and domestic soft drinks as well. Hands down I'm very impressed with this establishment & that doesn't happen often. The food is phenomenal. Now I do have to say that it's real authentic Mexican food! ALL the staff is super friendly & great service. We ended up here because of hurricane Harvey & since I found this restaurant we have been coming here every day for the last 4 days. One day we even came for lunch & dinner. Oh & by the way their restroom is CLEAN. Like I mentioned I'm not easily impressed & I certainly do not 5 star easily either.
