This was a lovely restaurant inside of the historic Redlands hotel in downtown Palestine. We got there before the restaurant opened and were able to walk around the hotel and read about its history as well as explore the little downstairs library. Once the restaurant opened, our large group was seated among 4 tables and we were attended to very well. The food options were very diverse and everything tasted great! This is a nice place. Every staff member is professional and treats you like a VIP without being snooty. Pls comb your hair and resist wearing PJ wear when eating at this place. This place is terrific! Outstanding gnocchi and cocktails. We also had a great salad and stuffed shrimp. We had McKenzie as a server and she was excellent. She was very professional and knowledgeable of the restaurant's offerings. We will ask to be in her section every time we revisit. The cleanliness of Queen St. Grille was superb. Beautiful little restaurant in an old hotel in downtown Palestine. Nicely appointed and a comfortable, little more upscale place. Service on the night we were there was v-e-r-y slow. It look over 15 minutes for our drinks to be served, and by that time the salads were on the table. Not quite the beginning we had hoped for. Our entrees were all good, duck, pork tenderloin, pappardelle with shrimp and redfish we're all tasty but typical. The price point for each is reasonable for a nicer restaurant, and the wine list is not extensive but the selections and prices are also reasonable. Overall worth the trip if you want something a little different than what you normally find in ETX. Added bonus- the art gallery next to the restaurant is open on Friday and Saturdays and worth checking out. The service, food, ambiance, all was amazing!! This dining experience was by far the best we have had in Central/East Texas in 18 months! We highly recommend and look forward to returning. Makenzie served us with professionalism, friendliness, knowledge and grace. Each course was prepared and presented perfectly. They had my favorite wine (La Crema Pinot Noir), which I have not found served anywhere else from Palestine to Fairfield. My only complaint was that the bottle was chilled, which I keep experiencing with red wine across this state. Why??? Next time I'll call ahead to ensure I can get an unrefrigerated bottle set aside prior to our arrival. Everything else was absolutely wonderful! read more

Kind of a mixed review, the dining room in the historic building was nice. Service, was not the best. They started my guest and I with water, but never gave us an option to order anything other than that to drink. There were two other tables, the kitchen was unbelievably slow. I was almost to the point of just paying for the appetizer and leaving to go somewhere else. It was getting close to an hour from the time I was seated until the main course arrived. The appetizer was ok but nothing outstanding. My meal was ok, but the meat on the plate was good and tender on one end, over cooked and really tough on the other end. Not sure how that happened. Small menu and a little pricey, with that, I expected better. The entree however was plenty ample in size. I didn't like what I ordered and didn't like the wait, I thought it a bit unreasonable considering there were only two other tables that already had been served. Could have just been a bad day at the office for them, not sure, but the rest of the building was worth taking a look at. I might give them another try next time I'm in town. read more

I was invited to a bridal shower held at this historic place when I walked in I could tell they were not prepared as things appeared disorganized. The food was ok not what I had expected from such a highly rated place and the water tasted really bad- it was obviously tap water. Our waitress must've been in a bad mood because she seemed annoyed that we were there. I watch our host scramble to have things brought to us like plates and forks etc. our waitress seem to struggle with observation skills . We got through it and made the best of it. I was in Palestine, Texas on business and our Company had suggested Queen Street and glad that we had dinner there. 1st it is in a historic building near downtown and the inside takes you back in time. The service was excellent because our server was very knowledgeable and had a great attitude. She was dealing with 12 of us all from different parts of the country. Since we were in Texas steak was my 1st choice when looking at the menu but what caught my eye was the Quail for an appetizer. It has been over 30 years for me since eating Quail when living in Oklahoma. It was DELICIOUS!! Then I ordered the Filet Mignon and because we were in Texas knew it would be cooked correctly and that the meat would be excellent, Rare baby Rare. Queen Street chef did not disappoint. My steak was cooked perfectly but more importantly it was seasoned just the way I like it! Lastly, our server recommended the 1st two items on their dessert menu because they were made in house and both the Bread Pudding and Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream were gone in no time. This is a great place to take a date for a formal dinner! They do not have an official "dress-code" but they do suggest business casual or better. When my wife and I went, we were there for our anniversary dinner and there were formal prom dates to a large (8 seat) business dinner happening. We started off with appetizers - fried green tomatoes (with spicy crawfish and cream sauce) and fried pork belly. The tomatoes where nicely breaded with good flavor and still firm. The brunch selections are plentiful with standard breakfast offerings along with beautiful pastries and fruit. What a delight! This restaurant is located in the historic Redlands Hotel. It is very pretty inside and has a great atmosphere. We started with the smoked salmon appetizer. It was delicious. Four toasted small baguettes (they should give you more but that is what comes with it), 2 large pieces of smoked salmon, and very small amounts of the dill sour cream, capers and finely chopped red onion. That is my only compliant is they were stingy with the confinements to put on the smoked salmon. But I highly recommend this. For dinner, hubby had crab stuffed founder with beurre blanc sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. This was fantastic. Plenty of crab stuffing and sauce. I had the pasta with spinach, sun dried tomatoes and cream sauce and added grilled shrimp. A huge portion and I really enjoyed it. read more

Hands down, this is the best restaurant in Palestine. My wife and I stayed in the Redlands hotel (best hotel in town) and decided to have dinner at Queen St Grille. We made reservations for 7:30, but were hungry before that. We headed down about 6:30 and there were no tables, but they said we could wait in the bar. We found a nice table the bar. It was cozy and the server (Jennifer) was great. We decided to just eat at our table in the bar. The food we ordered was delicious. We finished off our meal with strawberry shortcake and coffee. Had dinner there last night as part of my birthday weekend. Lobster mac-n-cheese, wedge salad, chicken fried ribeye. Everything was wonderful. The CFS was tender and juicy. If you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods, please stop by and check it out. It was one the emu expected highlights of our visit here. We came for a dinner last night. For me, a blank angus steak cooked to perfection while my husband ventured to a country fried prime rib. Both leaving us wobbling out the door. The owners of the hotel and grille suggested we come back the next day for your Sunday brunch and we couldn't resist and I'm so glad we didn't. We overindulged with duck breast, a wonderful strawberry soufflé like pancake with the sweetest bits of granola, a pair of sticky toffee buns and even a side of Asiago fries.
