There are taquerias everywhere in the city and Centro Historico is no exception. The rule of thumb is to go where the crowds are and this spot just off a main street often has a line. I went around 8:30 p.m. on a Monday. The inside was full, but I walked right up for takeout tacos. For 38 pesos per order, I got wo orders of the pastor tacos with salsa verde- one hot and one mild. The tacos were delicious! However, a few other stands I enjoyed more. But still...you can't go wrong here!

Lengua. Juicy, delicious, and perfectly seasoned

No frills. No english. Locals spot with just bomb ass tacos. I was really curious about the ojo (eyeball) taco but they ran out. I ordered the lengua (tongue) and they weren't messing around. It was basically a thick succulent piece of tongue on a tortilla. Its was delicious. We also had the pastor con queso and chorizo huarrache which were excellent.

    Super fun street-side seating.

Awesome local taco stand. Limited seating inside & out for find a table and get some delicious tacos!! Fantastic complimentary table salsas. All the tacos were excellent, especially the al pastor you will notice rotating street-side on the spit. Beer & tequila available, no wine or mixed drinks.

We almost missed this place because walking by it just seems so messy and chaotic. But the reason it is so messy and chaotic is because the servers are busy keeping up with the customers. This place offers a really great taco. They have a variety of meats that range from bistek, tripas, brains, eye, carnitas, etc. This is everything that you imagine a street taco to be. After adding so many rounds of tacos we ended up with over feeding 3 people for $13. You cant beat that!

I've eaten at maybe 30 taco spots in Mexico City and this is definitely my favorite. Everything is amazing. Get the Arabe, Al Pastor, Suadero, and Tripa. The nopales and onions are great to eat with them too.

Hotel doorman recommended this joint close by my hotel as some of the best tacos in town. Wasn't impressed. My meat had a lot of fat and gristle in it. No beer sold here. They put french fries on the taco plate, which was strange, but would have been OK had they been any good and not just cold scraps. They can keep the cooked nopal (cactus slice). It had no flavor whatsoever. Look elsewhere. Many of the individual street vendors have amazing tacos that put these to shame.

I couldn't skip this spot and even though there was a huge line, it moved super fast. Granted I didn't have such a thing as bad tacos in Mexico city, I was super happy with the portions served, how quickly they prepared my order, and how delicious they were. I had the sesos and ojos tacos - highly recommend.

Churrería El Moro has been around since 1935 making churros and they do it exceedingly well. This…read morelocation is located by the city center and after sight seeing, my husband and I decided to stop by here for churros. Luckily when we came last Sunday, around 2 pm, there was no wait for a table. An employee saw us and told us to sit anywhere. As soon as sat down, another employee brought us menus. We ended up getting: Grande Lechero, $54 MXN ($3.13 USD)- Large size coffee with milk. When our server brought over my husband's drink, she made a grand show of pouring the milk up high into my husband's coffee. I just wished I had gotten a video of it but it was definitely very fun to watch. My husband said his coffee was good (I didn't have any because I am not much of a coffee drinker). Combo 1 with Grande chocolate drink, $155 MXN ($8.98 USD)- So this combination comes with 4 large pieces of churros, 1 dip of your choice and also a chocolate drink. I ended up choosing a Mexican hot chocolate, which is made with cinnamon and sugar. Surprisingly the drink wasn't overly sweet. And really was perfect to dip my churro into the hot chocolate. For the dip, I picked cajeta, which is caramel made with goats milk. The cajeta was excellent with the churro. I don't know if this was the best churro that I have ever had, but it is definitely one of the top ones I have ever had. My husband also enjoyed the churros and the cajeta (he also liked my hot chocolate too). --------------------------- (Total= $209 MXN or $12.11 USD prior to tip) Wait time for our items was pretty quick. We waited less than 10 minutes for everything. Also credit card is accepted so my husband paid (We have the Costco Visa credit card which does not have a foreign transaction fee, which we used exclusively when we were not paying cash). Our server brought a card reader machine to our table when we were ready to pay (for those of you unaware, in Mexico, you will not be brought your check until you ask for it because it is considered rude to give it to you beforehand, assuming that you are being rushed). Overall, we had a really great experience at this location and highly recommend checking out any of the Churrería El Moro locations the next time you visit Mexico City.

Came here late around 9 it was packed and had a short line out the door. The line for take out was…read moreeven shorter so we opted for take out since our hotel was right around the corner. Got an order of 4 churros with caramel (cajeta) and guava (Guayaba) dipping sauces, they were out of chocolate. You can have them tossed in regular sugar or cinnamon sugar which is traditional. The churros were warm and crispy on the outside and soft inside but had a slight burnt flavor. Both dipping sauces were good but in a different way. It's like donuts topped with caramel or guava, one is more fruity and the other more sweet. Just depends what you're in the mood for or what you prefer. I also got the frances hot chocolate which is their hot chocolate with vanilla. It was better than what I had earlier at another place. Overall the churros were good but not the best i've had.

Super solid cheap eat in central Mexico City. If you're looking for a super messy, authentic,…read moreplastic bag-coveted plate of tacos, this will certainly scratch that itch. The tacos are super cheap so you'd assume they're small but they're actually massive and we severely over-ordered (not a bad thing). It usually has a big line, but it moves quick. Once you get your plate, there are numerous stations where you can put some delicious avocado salsa and pickled jalapeños/carrots on the tacos. They're very thoughtful as well as they provide sinks right in the main area for you to wash your hands afterwards, which is 100% needed after this meal. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is I felt the tacos were actually a bit bland, I was kind of searching for flavor. I've had much better tacos de canasta, but these are by no means terrible. The size of the tacos compared with the price and accessibility is the main draw here. Highly recommend stopping in nevertheless if you're in the area, just note you only need to order like four of them to be satisfied.

We opted for the Combo which I believe was 4 or 5 tacos and a coke. We picked both the red and green Chicharrón and the potato and beans to give them all a try. The Chicharrón tacos were outstanding and were beautifully paired with the green salsa and the veggie pickles. The potato one was just okay and the bean was good. They are located in a very busy area right around the square so getting here can be very hectic but it is well worth it.
