I called for a last minute hair cut and made an appointment with Robert. He was very friendly and the entire salon was carefully following covid guidelines. I almost fell asleep while getting my hair washed; seriously, I'll be coming back just for the scalp massage. I ended up with the exact cut I was wanting and a great blow out. My daughter got a fairly nice cut from Gwen. Was disappointed in that I spoke to her on the phone upon booking and was told kids cuts are $20 and up. She assured me though when I questioned it that it would not be more than $25 because truly it is determined by blowdrying time rather than hair length. I told her my daughter has very soft manageable, shorter than mid-back hair and Gwen said she is positive then it will be $20. We get there and Gwen then says it will be $35 as a woman's cut. I timed it and in the end it was less than 20 minutes spent blowdrying I don't mind paying $10-$15 for an amazing hairdo but it was not worth that for a kids cut. Moreso it's about the principal and integrity of following through with what is promised. Considering it was a good cut and a great location for us, I will give the salon another chance this time for myself. The 2nd Chance Got lucky in getting booked with Samantha - excellent stylist with a great, honest personality. She has a wealth of knowledge about haircare and gives great tips. After calling a few salons, I called Tara Burroughs Salon and was told they could fit me in. I arrived and was greeted by Robyn, my stylist. I let her know what I was looking for and she made sure I received it (and more!). While washing my hair, she gave an amazing scalp massage and even did a tea tree oil treatment when I mentioned my concerns with my flaky hairline. Love the colour and highlights. Confident in Lydia's skill and experience. Have been to other places where the color or highlights came out either too red, too brassy, or the chemicals burned my scalp, scary. No fear of that sort of thing happening here. Lydia is absolutely fabulous. Only thing is it's a tad bit expensive. Like that you can book your appt online. Tatiana is awesome!!!! I recently moved to John's Creek from Richmond, VA and have been incredibly hesitant on finding a salon in the area after having gone to the same salon in VA for 15 years. Tatiana is new to the area and the salon - but don't that stop you! She takes her time and has expert advice on what style and color will look best for your face and personality. I went in for partial highlights and a trim and I have never had my blonde color look so good and the way she styled my hair with a round brush and blow dryer was amazing! Tatiana is so cute and sweet, she makes it easy to have a conversation and you can tell she is proud of the work she does. The overall look of the salon is great. Tara and her team did a great job making the room open and inviting. There is beautiful art on the walls and a flat screen TV set up in a lounge area where you can relax while your color sets. The salon is set up with only 5 or 6 stations and I realized I actually prefer this feel over a salon that has 10+ stations with so many conversations and blow dryers going at the same time that it seems chaotic. Tara's salon is relaxing and spacious. The other staff at the salon also did beautiful work from what I could see as clients came in and out. Everyone had a smile when they left and the team all seemed to work together really well. A stylist next to me spent 15-20 minutes showing her young client how to add bouncy curls to her hair using a curling iron. The girl seems sooo pleased when she figured out how to do it and the final outcome of her style. I highly recommend Tatiana and the Tara Burroughs Salon!! read more

My wife just came here to do the thermafuse treatment. She had the keratin treatment done a few times in different places and it worked so well from our experiences at different salons that we decided to do it again. The stylist and the owner said that the thermafuse treatment works the same as the keratin. In the middle of her treatment, the stylist informs the salon owner and my wife that she basically ran out of materials to apply to her hair. The salon owner, Tara, was so rude to my wife and basically blamed her that she has too much hair and they had to use a completely different product. As if we are suppose to call a salon and say you need to use an x amount of product. I have never been to a place where the owner was so unprofessional as well as cheap to the clientele. We spent 375 dollars on a product that did not even last a week! There is times I wish that Yelp offered a 0 star experience and this is one of them. This place does not care for their customers. Tara, She did have a very long conversation with you and your stylist explaining to you both what kind of hair she has, the length and texture. She specifically told your stylist that all her previous keratin treatments that she has done took at least three hours but your stylist said it won't take her more than two hours. You should have been UPFRONT with us when we walked in there and saw her hair that you don't have enough product to do the treatment and reschedule the appointment but you choose to skim on applying the product and run out of it in the middle of the session. So you basically preferred to keep the appointment to get your $385 ($465 including tips) and not ensure customer satisfaction. No reputable and professional salon runs out of products in the middle of the hair session and then blame the customer for having too much hair. NEVER Happened before!!! Were you blind-folded before you started the treatment or are you just inexperienced and can't estimate how much product you need?? She never asked for a relaxer or fully straightening her hair. She showed you pictures of her hair after her previous keratin treatments and you said the thermafuse works the same way. The thermafuse actually did relax the curls a bit but doesn't really work as well as keratin in removing frizz or giving the hair that extra shine. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend this salon if you are looking for professional hair treatments or cuts and the owner's rudeness makes their customer service less than tolerable for someone who is willing to spend upper of $400s. read more

My wife is currently looking for a new salon. This salon came with great reviews and the pictures online are clean and sophisticated. She walked in off the street to check it out, and made an appointment for later that day with Tara (the owner). When she went back she was greeted by a smiling young lady who made her feel very welcome. As she waited for Tara, she noticed that the salon was very quiet and the stylists weren't smiling very much. Tara got started and after my wife explained what she wanted she did a very good job. My wife did ask her to cut the back short and make sure her hair was cut around her ears, but Tara decided that it looked 'softer' to keep it longer. Needless to say, a month later, my wife felt like it needed cutting again, and although with a short cut that is common, my wife doesn't have the money to spend $80 on a haircut every month, so would have liked it shorter to help it last longer. Having said that, the haircut was very nicely done and did look great. Another disappointment was the hair left on my wife's collar after the cut. You would think that for $80, she wouldn't have to come home and have a shower to get rid of the little, itchy pieces of hair. All in all, my wife is still looking for a salon that is affordable, gives great customer service and makes sure there is no need for a shower after a haircut. Is that too much to ask? read more

I am brand new to the area and used a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon back in my hometown and decided to try this salon since it was the first one to pop up and it had great reviews. I called the day of and they informed me that the only person available was Tara but did not tell me that she was higher priced or made sure that it was okay with me. I scheduled the appointment because I was starting my new job the next week and wanted to look fresh. When I arrived I asked about using the new client coupon and they informed me that it excluded Tara and I was asked if I wanted to reschedule. (I should have) 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start she finally asked what I wanted. I told her I wanted to add a few darker pieces but to stay mostly blonde. As she is putting the foils in, she informs me of the price ($50 more than what I saw on their website for a partial). Then I was charged extra for shampooing and toner and didn't even bother to get a blow dry because that would cost more. Tara then told me at the end when my hair is still sopping wet and soaking my shirt, that "I was probably on a budget and should look into having a different stylist who's prices were cheaper and more affordable to me." Seems pretty rude to me. I just wish I would have been informed about the pricing before I drove 30 minutes there and had to sit there and be insulted by assuming I couldn't afford her. My hair also looked ashy and it is brown with a few blonde highlights. I don't think I will be returning to this salon just because they didn't inform me of the pricing difference as well as the extra costs that should come with a $150 hair cut (didn't even get a trim). read more

Here is what happened to me at the so called "prestigious" Tara Burroughs salon. 4/8 - I went to have my hair colored. I explained to Robert that I wanted a single color and an overall much lighter effect than my natural hair. He did not offer any advice or counsel me regarding the color. At the end of the service, my hair was super dark. He did not apologize. The owner, Tara, recognized this for what it was, a botched job, and comped it. She asked for a chance to correct the mistake and said she would do it herself. She said she would do highlights. She promised it would look really nice, and encouraged me to return as opposed to going to someone else. I didn't have time to spend another 2.5 hours in the salon that day, so I returned a week later. Big mistake. 4/15 - After 2.5 hours in the salon, my hair was orange. Tara said (direct quote), "In few washes, your hair color will be even 'warmer', so you really should come back and have us work on it again." She confirmed that "warmer" means more red/orange. Incredible. Then she proceeded to charge me $170, even though the most expense highlights service on her website is $150 (for full highlights). I asked for an explanation, and she said she charged me for a toner that she had to use to make my hair look a little more normal (otherwise it'd have looked even more orange). I said I did not think I should pay for her mistakes, and she told me that I didn't know how color worked. I am the customer, why should I understand how color worked?! I just know that my hair is bright orange/red now, and that she expected to make even more money of my stupidity that drove me to go to her salon in the first place. I found Tara Burroughs on Yelp, read the reviews, saw the pictures and thought I'd give it a try. I am SO GLAD I did. I was immediately greeted by Kim - the amazing colorist. She spent time listening to what I wanted, gave me a few suggestions, and we went for it. After my color, I sat in Lydia's chair. At first, I thought she was just combing my hair, but then I learned that she was studying my hair; the way it grows, the texture, the way it was previously cut. She really knew her stuff. Once Lydia gave me the finishing touches (which is her favorite part, by the way!) I can honestly say - it is the BEST cut and color I've ever received. I don't think my hair has ever looked better.
