So...This is my Go-To salon in the Duluth area, primarily because of convenience. Also, the pricing is very reasonable! However, I'm getting to the point that I may try to find another salon. Why?? For starters, the general attitude here is not good. Service is not a thing here, and unlike most salons, stylists (I've tried 3 different ones so far) are just not that personable. In fact, one of the three stylists I've tried here cancelled on me not once, but twice!! Obviously, I stopped booking with her. I also sense that they're not even that happy being there. I could be wrong, but it's the feeling that you get from these stylists. Still, the general hair cutting has been good...though, in my case, it's pretty basic. Just a straight line! I've always tipped 20%...but I'm starting to rethink this, given how the service is so minimal. On my last 2 sessions, the stylist barely said "Hi" to me. The place itself is pretty cool looking (in a grungy kinda way?), but I feel that the place may not be clean as it should be. I could be wrong here, but I've seen dust on their surface and arty structures. Also, I really don't like how they blow dry and comb your hair with their fingers. Not just a little bit while blow drying...but all throughout! It just feels a bit gross. I mean, who knows how clean their fingers are! I also hate the way they wash your hair. They actually have a separate girl that wash your hair (instead of the stylists)...and this girl is just not good! She has zero strength in her fingers...and I hate the way she even touches your hair! Possibly THE worst hair washing experience (experiences) I've ever had in ANY salon. I can't believe someone that's actually hired for this job (hair washing) does such a poor job! Despite liking the location and pricing, service and overall quality is always an issue. I may give it another try...but if my thoughts and feelings are confirmed once again on my next visit, I'll just find another salon in the area. read more

Fast and efficient at cutting hair and coloring. I thought their color selection was limited, but good. They do try to get you in and out as fast as possible, so very efficient! as you can see in my photos..i had very long..damaged hair .. The owner was my stylist and it was my first time getting my haircut from him. I believe his name was Juno. He was difficult to book especially since I was only able to go on a weekend. Definitely worth the wait! He took his time to understand what kind of haircut I wanted. He gave me his opinions of what he recommended. He would give me warning about how he may have to cut the hair shorter than I asked for bc there was just so much damaged hair. He was very quick but did make sure to make things evened out and not butchered. He was very sweet to give me complimentary styling at the end even though I didn't ask or expect it. The hispanic lady who washed my hair did use cold water and felt like she didn't wash my hair too well... Other than that I would definitely keep Juno as my go-to stylist! The haircut total was $50. I'm sure there are certain stylists that do a fantastic job, but I went here and asked for any stylist thinking that the establishment would have all good hair dressers on staff. I came in with long straight hair and asked for curtain bangs and a little trim. I can't even explain the hair cut I got. I wanted to give the stylist the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe the hair ironing curls she put in my hair was weird. But after washing my hair the result is just so shocking I want to cry. I don't even know how to describe this haircut. She put lots of layers, but in the most weird way that even my husband who knows nothing abount hair was left questioning what she was trying to do. I've been going to Jinny for a couple years, and I really appreciate how consistent, fair and honest she is. I'm short on time with styling my hair so she cuts it according to my lifestyle which I appreciate. A lot of the other reviews talk about the quality of their cuts or coloring, but I think it's important to make a point that sometimes you need just need someone who is consistent with their work and also just honest in their professional opinion. If you want something that you think will look good on you, it's important to have that dialogue with your hairdresser if it's good idea. ASK FOR JINNY The key to a great salon is consistent repeat performance. It does me no good to get one good hair cut/coloring and then next time I show up-I get a meh haircut/coloring. Having lived in Atlanta all of my life; I can say I've tried at least a dozen or more salons in my time here. Just look up "best hair salon" on the internet and check out Atlanta magazine's yearly list. It's safe to say I've been to at least 1/3 to 1/2 of the recommended salons. Most of the time I'm happy with my experience with them. (Not thrilled or blown away) but happy. Happy enough to return? Well that's a different story. There are very few salons I've been to in Atlanta that are worth returning. The reason being that 99% of the time when I go back to the salon after having a stellar experience the 1st time I'm disappointed with my subsequent experience(s) there. I can only think of 2 right off the top of my head and one of them is now closed. Pika Pika is one of the two hair salons that I've been to that seems to understand consistent repeat performance. My stylist Jinny in my opinion may be the top colorist for Asian hair in this state. Girlfriend knows her stuff. This is why you gotta book 6-8 weeks ahead with her lots of time because she's just that good. The salon itself has a cool industrial vibe to it. It's located in the same shopping center as the H-Mart XV94+VQ Duluth, Georgia When you pull into the shopping center make towards the left side. It's located on the 2nd floor of the shopping center surrounding Hmart. Parking is plenty and it's free. If this is your first time you want to bring a photo of the color or style that you are looking for. Then ask Jinny for her opinion on it. She's very honest. She'll tell you if that style doesn't suit your face or in my case-the hair coloring is too high maintenance. As far as pricing is concerned: they are on par with what other prestige salon charges in Atlanta. In my experience if the price is too cheap-the quality is also cheap. So you definitely get what you pay for. Never had a bad experience here and highly recommend them for those looking for a hair salon. read more

Mrs. Park did EXACTLY what I asked for. I have a round face and very thick hair. I asked for face-framing bangs (since I wear my hair up all of the time), trim my layers but keep the length, and to thin out some of my thickness. E X P E R I E N C E This was my fist experience ever dying my whole head. I've only ever dyed some medium brown highlights- very conservative. I worked with Juno. TIP: during the holidays, peak season, make sure you make your apps AT LEAST A MONTH in advance!! TIP: before bleaching, make sure you don't wash your hair for a few days to a week beforehand! TIP: Juno needs a $25 deposit to book him. The amt gets credited to your payment when you see him. In Aug tried calling a month in advance but they said to call a week in advance so I did and made an appt in Sept. My first experience was absolutely amazing. I came 10mins late for my appt as I was trying to find parking and find the storefront. They immediately sat me and started on my hair. I told Juno and his associate to do what they think is best for the health of my hair but I did show them what I had hoped for, a platinum blonde. I did verbalize that i had done extensive research beforehand so i did not expect it to happen in the first try but did want to show them my goal. They were so kind with me and my hair. My hair is very long, right above my bum, so the bleaching process was very long and heavy for my neck. Then they washed my hair. Then toned it and washed it again. They blow dried and styled. The end result was phenomenal. I'm obsessed. And still am. So obsessed that I feel like maybe i don't need to go platinum. I love the honey blonde on me. It's just right for my skin tone and under tone. And my hair is so healthy and strong. I don't have wads of hair falling out (its been 4 mos since my inital bleach). It took a total of 6-7 hours. My second appt was in Nov. I had come in for a toning session. I wanted to bleach again to lighten a bit but the team had recommended that i wait another two mos before bleaching again, to let my hair strengthen. Again, I had a great experience. I came on time and they immediately sat me. They put the toning mix into my hair, heated it, then massaged and washed my hair. They blow dried and styled. The entire process took about 2-3 hrs. Pika Pika is located in a Korean shopping center in Duluth, and it's a pretty cute salon. The reason why I didn't had a haircut in so long is because when I trusted anyone with my hair before, it all ended bad. I wanted to make sure that the person treating my hair again knew what they were doing. Since they had pretty good reviews on Yelp I decided to give it a try. I called to make an appointment, but the lady on the phone said that I could just walk in since it was slow. When I walked in, all the ladies where having lunch, so the place was kinda smelly. A lady named Lily (I believe) told me to seat in her booth, and proceeded to cut my hair. She was really nice, but struggled with my hair maybe too much. I asked her to cut as much as she wanted, and only leave healthy ends. I appreciate the fact she didn't cut as much as other people have in the past. She used very good products, and my hair felt so much better after. She gave me some recommendations which were pretty helpful, and did a very good job in my hair after all. From the moment i walked in i felt like I wasn't being taken seriously and that my stylist had more important things to do. i had made an appointment the day prior and when i arrived they didn't seem to have a stylist lined up/available. (I arrived about 5 minutes early) After washing my hair they had me sit in the waiting for 10 minutes while my hair was dripping thru the thin towel. Then half way through my haircut my stylist leaves for a duration of time , hair clip in my hair with strands falling in my face. I used do walk ins all the time and always come out satisfied! I now go to Tei to get my hair done but when he isn't available i'm happy to get my hair done by the others. The haircut and perms are amazing! The store itself is a great location in a plaza and the interior is a nice vibe as well. I made an appointment here while I was visiting GA since my hair was so dead. I'm not sure who cut my hair, as it was fairly busy and there was a bit of a language barrier. However, my stylist was knowledgeable and cut my hair based on the picture I showed him! He had also cut out most of the dead hair throughout my head that I've been having difficulty getting rid of with other stylists.
