I've never in all of my years living in Manhattan and mind you I worked at very high-end hair salons back in the day have I ever heard a young gal speak to me in the manner that she just did. She told me verbatim "please don't speak to me that way" she must have a lot of issues with communicating or understanding a simple question to then lash out at me for just a simple question. I asked her point blank. Could you tell me the price of my last Hair Stylist and she said well everybody is different. Every level is different. I said that's not what I'm asking you. I asked you to please just tell me what the stylist price was that I last saw and she said "please don't speak to me in that manner" there is no way I spoke to her other than asking a simple question that she just couldn't answer. I said to her I wasn't asking for everybody or a broad spectrum of what everybody charges I was merely inquiring about one person who did my hair and she blew up and said please don't speak to me that way. I have patience for many things, especially trying to understand the next generation. What I don't appreciate is the lack there of with customer service in this generation, her generation and the attitude that they present. Kyla at John's creek location is amazing and I'm not exaggerating. I've looked for a stylist who can cut my thick curly ish hair and it's been nearly impossible or I have to drive and spend my whole day trying to get to one. Kyla sat and listened to me and pointed things out on my hair I hadn't seen and also gave me opinions about my preferences with hair cuts and color. I left feeling so great and I'll be referring many people to her. Muse Salon is a 4-5 star experience. In 2018 I started going to this salon, but moved away for 1.5 years and came back as a regular in May 2021 when I needed a color correction ASAP to fix my hair done by someone in Florida. Since I was starting a new position and wanted a fresh hairdo for my new life in Atlanta, I brought in inspiration photos and left with a baaad hairdo and a shattered confidence. So I called muse on my way to Atlanta because I had tried them and liked them before., and thankfully Lyda was available for a color correction consultant. When I arrive, I quickly find out that Lyda was also available to do my hair same day! I was so relieved but also extremely nervous. To my pleasant surprise, she repaired my confidence with a phenomenal, talented color correction; I was floored. I genuinely really love this salon although it is not budget friendly. It breaks my bank every time. I'm a PhD student right now, so I hope one day the price isn't a complaint lol because I think their talents are worth it. My biggest complaint about pricing is the nickel and dime technique they use. I have been collecting itemized receipts from my appointments and it's kind of annoying that a blow dry/ style isn't included in hair color services because who is really going to let their client walk out looking like a wet dog? I understand if it was a cut/style that needs a separate price and glad they can offer blow dry services for if you want your hair done for a night out or whatever. This brings me to my next point: my mom, sister, and stepdad were visiting me for thanksgiving and we all wanted blowouts and my stepdad wanted to had on a hair trim. Poor guy, he said he needed a hat just to leave the salon which shattered me because I had spoken so highly of Muse. He didn't get the conditioning and scalp massage like he wanted, and his cut was something really trendy and nothing like he said he wanted. I was even more shocked that I was charged $90/person for him to literally buy a hat to hide his shame. This leads me to say I do not recommend men's cuts here. I am glad though that my mom and sister enjoyed the condition treatment because it really is worth every penny. My mom even said "my roots have never been so soft" the condition treatment leaves your hair silky soft from root to tip. It is so enjoyable to come here and treat myself though and one bad men's experience didn't stop my from returning lol. Lyda and I are on a journey together with my hair. It's so thick and soft, and I've never had sooo many compliments on my hair health. I highly recommend. P.S. as a continuing education advocate, what stuck out to me the most and the reason I continue to return is because of this salon's commitment to continuing education. I went in the first time for highlights and specifically told my artist (susan) that i did not want any warm tones in my hair and she proceeded to do just that when she blow dried my hair the top of my hair was bright and the bottom was a warm orange caramel color that i did not want then she rescheduled for a glaze and my hair came out even darker and i was back to square one so basically i spent 350$ for nothing and they did not try to help me out they kept telling me to reschedule and pay the full amount again "to achieve the look i want" unbelievable i didn't go any where else thinking you get what you pay for and i was fine with paying that much to get the look i wanted read more

I got my hair done by Lizz (Elle), we talked about what I'd like as I've always done blonde for the last few years but I wanted to switch it up and try copper or red. We went with a cinnamon-ish color and I loved it. She really did a wonderful job, She was sweet and listened, which I find is important for a stylist, she gave me her opinion and we were able to meet in the middle and both be happy with the end product. My holiday ended at Muse Salon, as we treated ourselves to a hair treatment and a blow out. I will start by stating I am not from the area and have nothing in the area to compare it to but as an outsider I have a few observations worth mentioning. Firstly, the pricing. Whew. This salon is not for the regular person. It is expensive, I think my service was something close to 90/hr; of course pricing depends on what you get but I had some slight sticker shock. It was a really nice experience for me anyway. I loved the conditioning treatment experience and the products they used, it was unlike anything I've experienced. To start the area with the wash stations was really peaceful with zen music and a quiet tone. My hair felt really clean and soft for at least two days... However, the blowout was really quick and unfortunately it felt really rough on my hair with one section left feeling like the ends were super broken and rough afterwards. It was a nice experience for me but the value slightly missed the mark for me given the price... My moms husband was with us and he opted for a haircut. I wish we read the reviews regarding the mens cuts because he was extremely disappointed with his haircut. He wanted it to have the exact same shape but just shorter. Instead he came out looking completely different with this super modern and trendy cut that is nothing like what he went in looking like.. he said he has never gone for a haircut and come out looking worse than he went in and that he needed a hat to hide it. Unfortunately the hair dresser took off way too much hair to even remotely fix it. Anyway, everyone we encountered was helpful and polite and they have a massive product selection. It seems like a high end place for womens haircare and the regulars enjoy it. I've been a customer for 2 years. Have color/highlights every 3 weeks by the top stylist. She's wonderful. They've' recently increased prices which is a lot for me, due to frequency of visits. My stylist's assistant in school sometimes does the coloring & charges the same. However, my last visit was done by the assistant & the color process didn't take on one side. (Not blaming assistant). Unfortunately, I was feeling unwell & had to have the process redone. The blow dry (also expensive) was rushed & I still see small areas of gray. I was charged the full amount. This is a place to get away and treat yourself. They do full service hair and spa. The place was fully staffed and very welcoming. There was a waiting area with a complimentary snack and water station. The beauty styling station had long mirrors well lit windows and lights. The hair wash station was quiet and relaxing. She is soft-handed and detail-oriented, which my sensitive scalp greatly appreciated. This was my first visit to Bella, and she quickly picked up my style and needs. To begin my 1st experience at this salon was when I was 27 years old. I have been living in John's Creek since I was three years old. I walked in at 8am with my hair long and a bit messy. Nothing too crazy and I walked out the salon 4 hours later with the my hair dyed the way I didn't want it to look like and a cheap hair cut that still left my hair flat. I have a lot of hair so you can only imagine how shocked and dissatisfied I walked out after paying $385 for a Hair Cut, Hair Dye ashy blonde & an awful Blow out done by Cayla Rae & her intern Randy. I went back into the salon hours later to try and fix the color of my hair with more toner & to this day it still looks bad. I give this salon just 1 star. Beautiful salon! I used to come here back in its old location in Alpharetta. Since then, I've found a place closer to home, so I've been sticking to there, but I have to say they've done a tremendous job with this salon. I came here with my daughter just for a blow out, since they were having a special blow out day for customers. We had Jessie, and one other stylist, who I wish I could remember the name of, but they were both really sweet. They started by washing our hair. The chairs actually have a massage function on them! How cool is that??! It was true pampering. They both then styled our hair, and they really did a nice job. Too bad we didn't have anywhere to go, but it was fun getting our hair done together. They even had some light appetizers and champagne for their customers, which was a nice touch. I'd say the only drawback here is the prices for salon services. I (and my 2 girls) had been clients of Muse for years and drove 45 min just to see my stylist. After she left, they opened a new place in Milton. I was excited because it's so much closer to home. I called and requested apt. but the gentleman on the phone was unexpectedly rude and told me there was a 2 month wait for a single apt. He made me feel like I didn't deserve to come to their salon. He didn't want to schedule my daughters (I am assuming he thought it was just for a cut and wasn't worth their time). So we now go to Davao Milton for color, extensions, and all services. I had a young lady with big brown eyes check me in. I actually caught her rolling her eyes at me when I turned around to say "thank you for your help" That definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I went to Joseph for a cut after reading a couple of reviews about him knowing how to cut curly hair. He's a very talented stylist and he's really a nice guy that made me feel comfortable. He loved my big curly hair and I LOVE that he appreciates big curly hair. ha! So many stylist want to iron curls straight or they want to cut the ends all jagged. I walked in a with a mess - all grown out, super flat/heavy on top and had no style. I was little embarrassed. The stylists are friendly, they still have wonderful greeters as you walk in and the whole vibe is fun and exciting. Although I really do you like how it looks inside the salon, I think their prices are a bit ridiculous. I came for a haircut and ended up getting a bill for around $100.. I did go there last year for a balayage - no hair cut and thought I was only going to spend under 150 or even 200 but my bill ended up coming up to $275 that is stupid. The employees there are sweet but other than that, the prices are a rip off. Beware of their à la carte pricing - it will add up so fast and high. read more

Hollyanne Porter is the curl master! If you have curls or waves you need to go see her. She's expert at cutting curly hair AND she's an absolutely delightful human being. I've never left an appointment disappointed. I'm sad it took me 10 years in the Atlanta area to find her. So, Holly is amazing in any salon, but MUSE is something else. The customer service is fantastic. The shampoo room is set up like a spa and each station is kept so tidy that you don't see any of the tools of the trade - they're all packed away in nice little cabinets. First time coming to Muse for a facial. When I made the appointment, I asked for the cheapest facial. The lady at the front desk said the minimum price is $85. so I booked it. The aesthetician who did my facial was great! When I went to pay, they told me that the facial cost $185. I was shocked!!. I was told that prices are subject to change!! Seriously!!! I was also told that the aesthetician did a few extra things which I did not ask for! The guy at the reception was extremely rude! and kept saying that I HAD to pay $185! My father girlfriend was taken to Muse for a Valentine's Day gift. The stylist was very nice, but my fathers girlfriends hair looked nothing like she was going for : balayage with a root touch up. She went home with nothing but shiny and conditioned hair and no highlights. She has black hair and wanted visible chocolate/ soft brown hilights. They did an open air process (balayage ) on a level 2 hair! There were no foil packets done at all. Her hair was not virgin and it had old color. She should have had her in brushed back highlights because of her level and higher peroxide. Also, get her high enough without compromising her hair integrity . And glaze her with the right tones to neutralize what was left from the old color as best as possible . Nope. Her hair looked just the same. Dark brownish black. They spent $380 plus $20 tip. This included : root touch up, baylayage ( ZERO DIMENSION) ,conditioning treatment and a non existent hair cut ( one inch off the ends and the layers weren't even cleaned up) plus blow dry which made her hair flat as a pancake and convinced her to buy a $23 bottle of who knows what to style her hair with to make it wavey???? And were there from 5ish to 8:30 . I'll be calling on their behalf to get their money refunded. They will be coming I tomorrow ( 2/14/2020) after they get off work . What an inconvenience as she feels ugly and not pretty for her date on Valentine's Day with my father . She was mortified when they got home last night so much they called me from Ga as I am in NC and sent me pictures as I am a stylist here. She didn't want to say anything to the stylist as she was nice and didn't want to hurt her feelings. I would recommend another training for the stylist on doing those techniques on level 1-3 hair . They WANT a REFUND. I'll be calling 1st thing in the morning . Update: they only offered a redo and not a refund. She doesn't want a redo. She was too upset to go back. The refund wanted was for only balayage portion of the service. As a stylist and owner myself, I would give those options a redo or a refund. This is the poorest customer service in a salon environment I've ever encountered. It's a shame because that salon is rated very highly read more
