Muse Salon is a 4-5 star experience. In 2018 I started going to this salon, but moved away for 1.5 years and came back as a regular in May 2021 when I needed a color correction ASAP to fix my hair done by someone in Florida. Since I was starting a new position and wanted a fresh hairdo for my new life in Atlanta, I brought in inspiration photos and left with a baaad hairdo and a shattered confidence. So I called muse on my way to Atlanta because I had tried them and liked them before., and thankfully Lyda was available for a color correction consultant. When I arrive, I quickly find out that Lyda was also available to do my hair same day! I was so relieved but also extremely nervous. To my pleasant surprise, she repaired my confidence with a phenomenal, talented color correction; I was floored. I genuinely really love this salon although it is not budget friendly. It breaks my bank every time. I'm a PhD student right now, so I hope one day the price isn't a complaint lol because I think their talents are worth it. My biggest complaint about pricing is the nickel and dime technique they use. I have been collecting itemized receipts from my appointments and it's kind of annoying that a blow dry/ style isn't included in hair color services because who is really going to let their client walk out looking like a wet dog? I understand if it was a cut/style that needs a separate price and glad they can offer blow dry services for if you want your hair done for a night out or whatever. This brings me to my next point: my mom, sister, and stepdad were visiting me for thanksgiving and we all wanted blowouts and my stepdad wanted to had on a hair trim. Poor guy, he said he needed a hat just to leave the salon which shattered me because I had spoken so highly of Muse. He didn't get the conditioning and scalp massage like he wanted, and his cut was something really trendy and nothing like he said he wanted. I was even more shocked that I was charged $90/person for him to literally buy a hat to hide his shame. This leads me to say I do not recommend men's cuts here. I am glad though that my mom and sister enjoyed the condition treatment because it really is worth every penny. My mom even said "my roots have never been so soft" the condition treatment leaves your hair silky soft from root to tip. It is so enjoyable to come here and treat myself though and one bad men's experience didn't stop my from returning lol. Lyda and I are on a journey together with my hair. It's so thick and soft, and I've never had sooo many compliments on my hair health. I highly recommend. P.S. as a continuing education advocate, what stuck out to me the most and the reason I continue to return is because of this salon's commitment to continuing education. All of the stylists are required to continue learning new skills and techn

    The "highlights"

I went in the first time for highlights and specifically told my artist (susan) that i did not want any warm tones in my hair and she proceeded to do just that when she blow dried my hair the top of my hair was bright and the bottom was a warm orange caramel color that i did not want then she rescheduled for a glaze and my hair came out even darker and i was back to square one so basically i spent 350$ for nothing and they did not try to help me out they kept telling me to reschedule and pay the full amount again "to achieve the look i want" unbelievable i didn't go any where else thinking you get what you pay for and i was fine with paying that much to get the look i wanted

I got my hair done by Lizz (Elle), we talked about what I'd like as I've always done blonde for the last few years but I wanted to switch it up and try copper or red. We went with a cinnamon-ish color and I loved it. She really did a wonderful job, She was sweet and listened, which I find is important for a stylist, she gave me her opinion and we were able to meet in the middle and both be happy with the end product. The salon itself is nicely located and has a nice ambience, welcoming and has sort of fun, edgy yet professional feel.

First-time visit to this salon. The salon is well staffed and quick to greet. My hair stylist Bella Henderson was a dream hairstylist. She is soft-handed and detail-oriented, which my sensitive scalp greatly appreciated. This was my first visit to Bella, and she quickly picked up my style and needs. She was patient in walking me through the process. I am pleased with the color and cut. The color perfectly compliments my skin tone, and the cut shapes slim my face beautifully. I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Bella. I will most definitely be back.

    Dissatisfied and disappointed

To begin my 1st experience at this salon was when I was 27 years old. I have been living in John's Creek since I was three years old. I walked in at 8am with my hair long and a bit messy. Nothing too crazy and I walked out the salon 4 hours later with the my hair dyed the way I didn't want it to look like and a cheap hair cut that still left my hair flat. I have a lot of hair so you can only imagine how shocked and dissatisfied I walked out after paying $385 for a Hair Cut, Hair Dye ashy blonde & an awful Blow out done by Cayla Rae & her intern Randy. I went back into the salon hours later to try and fix the color of my hair with more toner & to this day it still looks bad. I give this salon just 1 star. I went in on June 21st and I do not plan on ever going back!

This is too good to keep a secret, even though it's one large room with privacy curtains between stations it was clean, quiet, and I don't think I could rave about this experience more. I was so nervous because I've had such bad experiences at other salons (even a big name salon). She was so welcoming and really listened to what I wanted. I did show her some inspo fotos. I felt very comfortable after our consultation. She was very meticulous with her work. She took her time and demonstrated precision and patience (she is a perfectionist). Fast-forward to the end, I was so happy. My hair looked so much healthier and she literally did exactly what I wanted. I have been back since then, and will continue to go back as long as she will keep me as a client. I took my mother-in law to Aisha when she came to visit (she was having issues at other salons as well) and was absolutely amazed. She now gets her hair cut with Aisha when she is visiting from Little Rock. I would love to gate-keep her but it would be so unfair. She's so talented and kind. Book with her and you won't be disappointed.

To be fair, I made a mistake and thought my appointment was at 9:30 when it was actually at 9:00. When Cheron called me at 9:10 I immediately apologized and even offered twice to reschedule if that was easier. Instead she just asked for my ETA in an irritated tone and said she'd see me soon. From the minute I got there the whole appointment felt tense. I asked for a simple trim, some face framing pieces, and something low maintenance since I don't spend a lot of time styling my hair. It didn't feel like a difficult request but I felt like my preferences were an inconvenience. Even the shampoo was so rough it was uncomfortable instead of relaxing. The haircut itself turned out nice but what really shocked me was the finish. I paid $150 and expected at least a basic styling. Instead, my hair was blow dried with her fingers... no round brush, no comb, no straightener, no curls. Nothing. I genuinely couldn't believe that was the finished result. I'm happy I ended up with a decent haircut but the overall experience felt uncomfortable from start to finish and nowhere near the level of service I expected.

However, I'm getting to the point that I may try to find another salon. Why?? For starters, the general attitude here is not good. Service is not a thing here, and unlike most salons, stylists (I've tried 3 different ones so far) are just not that personable. In fact, one of the three stylists I've tried here cancelled on me not once, but twice!! Obviously, I stopped booking with her. I also sense that they're not even that happy being there. I could be wrong, but it's the feeling that you get from these stylists. Still, the general hair cutting has been good...though, in my case, it's pretty basic. Just a straight line! I've always tipped 20%...but I'm starting to rethink this, given how the service is so minimal. On my last 2 sessions, the stylist barely said "Hi" to me. The place itself is pretty cool looking (in a grungy kinda way?), but I feel that the place may not be clean as it should be. I could be wrong here, but I've seen dust on their surface and arty structures. Also, I really don't like how they blow dry and comb your hair with their fingers. Not just a little bit while blow drying...but all throughout! It just feels a bit gross. I mean, who knows how clean their fingers are! I also hate the way they wash your hair. They actually have a separate girl that wash your hair (instead of the stylists)...and this girl is just not good! She has zero strength in her fingers...and I hate the way she even touches your hair! Possibly THE worst hair washing experience (experiences) I've ever had in ANY salon. I can't believe someone that's actually hired for this job (hair washing) does such a poor job! Despite liking the location and pricing, service and overall quality is always an issue. I may give it another try...but if my thoughts and feelings are confirmed once again on my next visit, I'll just find another salon in the area.

I find this salon thinking it's a salon. I get there and it was hard to find she wasn't clear on instructions when i called, and when i find the place it's just a small room. And it was dirty too. she had stains and things left out, old waxing sticks just sitting with the new ones. I have a bleached undercut and asked her to touch up on my roots because my birthdays this weekend and i want to look good for the beach. she rushes the application like dye is flying it hit me in the face and everything. she also rushed cutting my hair and you can kind of see in the pic how choppy it was. But she curled my hair and that hid everything so i was happy until i got home and my sister and i were going to fix the cut we noticed plenty of problems. you can just see the pictures speak for themselves. i texted her the next day saying id like to talk, she called me and asked for the pics so i sent them. she then called back and said she could fix it then made an appointment for me. then proceeded to blame ME for my hair looking like this. mind you i've been dying my own hair for 7 years and this particular style for 2years and it has NEVER looked like this. i make sure my hair looks good because it's my hair why wouldn't i? I got to the salon and told her i wasn't comfortable with her trying to fix it and that id like a refund on at LEAST the bleach. she told me she didn't see my text or the pictures i sent which is a lie because she called me in regards to it. she tried arguing with me over a refund and tried saying she can't do that but she runs the business so? i was telling her no she didn't even do what i asked, i asked for roots not to lighten the rest. that was her own decision and ignored my roots. i also don't think it was crazy to ask for the 110 back for the bleach job because her website says 65 and up for touch up. i understand the "and up" part but she also tried to fix where my natural hair was growing in and the black on top to try and make it look more natural (i can still see the line in between) so she charged me 110 for the brown, 110 for the bleach, and 52 for the cut. I also have her a 55$ tip. she tried sending me only 60 and i had to tell her no you didn't do what i asked. i also got the FLU after coming here! This whole week i've been opening the store alone and made no contact with anyone but going to her salon. i'm not going to point blame on her because you can get sick from anything but the timing and me not being around anyone leads me to believe i got sick from her. please don't go here it's a waste of money and time. and if you do ask to see her stylist license because how do you even have one if you do this? Its crazy to me she let me walk out like this. I was disappointed to come home and see how unrefined the hair was and some of my hair was clearly uncut, meaning she only cut the top layer off hair. It was just a basic cut, not salon quality.
