My husband and I stayed at Tara Farms for 2 days after our wedding since it was near where we were married, and my goodness, what a gorgeous atmosphere! My favorite bed & breakfasts are ones that are a bit more secluded and away from main roads, and Tara Farms was just that. We had the quaint, rustic little cottage to ourselves, and breakfast was already made in our fridge so we didn't need to leave the cottage for anything. Perfect for a weekend getaway. This is a great place to get away from it all and relax. It is completely private and surrounded by the most beautiful land and wildlife the country offers. We saw several deer, wild rabbits, and birds. Not only was the setting perfect for a getaway weekend, but it is so close the some of the best antique shopping in the area. Brenham is such a cute and quaint little town, but is set perfectly between Houston and Austin, so it's not too far from home. They offer a delicious self-serve breakfast of muffins, fresh fruit, quiches, casseroles, breads, local coffee, and fresh juices. Oh yes, and the best peanut butter cookies I have ever had! Yum! Brenham has a ton of great b&b's but if you want to go somewhere private, comfortable and relaxing this is the place to go! The owners are so nice, but the place is so private you would never know they were there. All I have to say about this place are great things.... I could go on forever, but you should really just go check it out yourself! read more
