Staying here with a comfortable bed and a clean cottage was refreshing. And on a plus side no kids screaming through halls or feet stomping from upstairs. Just peace and quiet. After getting out of the car we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the grounds were. There's no shortage of lush bushes, flowers, and trees. We were immediately greeted by the owners who were friendly and gracious. They take pride in their property and it shows! They even gave us a quick tours of the other guest houses on the property, which no one was in at the time. We stayed in the stone cottage which is a refurbished smoke house, no worries...it doesn't smell like one any longer. The cottage was immaculate! Clean, clean! It had 2 window units, ceiling fans in the bathroom and bedroom. They have thought of everything! Right down to the umbrella hanging by the door to the bug spray and flashlight for nightly strolls on the grounds! I would definitely recommend staying here and plan to do so again!

Met friends for dinner then we all headed back to the Inn to sit around the firepit in Adirondack chairs. Wine place on property will sell you the wine. There's an enclosed lounge room in one of the buildings where we went when the bugs got to be too much for the firepit group. Our Sloane Building room was just the right size and well appointed. Great night sleep. Breakfast the next morning was scrumptious- no cold cereal serve yourself buffet here. Just yummy!! Just cannot beat it for a restorative getaway from the city. This was the 2nd year in a row that my husband and I stayed at Wellspring. I found it last year by accident when searching for a place to stay in Round Top, and I'm so glad I did! We like to attend the Shakespeare at Winedale plays (highly recommend if you're a Shakespeare fan), so late July and early August are times that we're in the area. I anticipate coming back again and again. Linda was out of town during our stay this time, but Sherri, labeled as "the best help in the world" on their info, proved herself to be exactly that. She took excellent care of us and provided a scrumptious breakfast! We met Linda last year, and she was very knowledgeable about the area (with suggestions of things to see and do) as well as telling us some of the history of the Depot. Speaking of The Depot, do yourself a favor and reserve it! I promise you won't be disappointed. The rooms are lovely, and even on a hot summer night, we went out on the deck and rocked back and forth while looking at the stars (we saw 4 meteors, the International Space Station, and several other satellites).

The beds were extremely comfortable and dressed with beautiful linens. The bathrooms had more than expected details. Rose soap buds that were so sweet and nice touch plus Facial wipes that I forgot to bring along. Lovely plush towels. We had everything needed for our stay. The Continental Breakfast was more than enough for us. And all the snacks were treats we didn't expect. So much variety for a B&B. If you stay, take a walk around the gardens too as there is a great variety of plants in this property. We hope to return with more girl friends for another retreat in the future. The rooms are super comfortable, clean, well appointed and you feel pampered. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious, full breakfasts and presented in a super cute way. It is a lovely place to sit outside on a covered porch and soak up the ambiance and just unplug. Very quite and peaceful yet just a few minutes from the square. Deena's quilts are used in the rooms and just a beautiful touch. Dave's wood working skills are evident throughout the property. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
